Off cruise topic, Anyone ever done the parks in August? I am considering it with the new military deal and we'll already be down there at the beach. I am leary because we did a day trip to sea world this year in august when we were down there and it was hot as hades and we all just wanted to jump in the tanks with the animals. We ended up leaving earlier than we had planned. But am trying to convince myself if we stay at the Poly and have the monorail and the pool close by for midday it may not be so bad. LOL Convincing DH may be a whole different story.. all we kept saying at Sea World that day.. is how we would NEVER plan an august Disney trip . . . oops!![]()
We went in August of '09 after our cruise, I guess it was around the 20th of the month. It was hot, but heat and humidity don't bother us so much being from Baltimore (that's a typical summer here). We only went to Epcot that trip and hung out at SSR, did mini-golf and DTD the rest of the time we were there. I didn't think the crowds were too bad at that time - wait times for rides were manageable. I'm guessing some school districts had started back already which made the crowds a bit less. Earlier in the month would definitely be more crowded. Having the pool at the hotel would be a definite plus - Hit AM EMH at MK or Epcot and head back to the hotel after lunch for a swim break. Hope this helps!
