can anyone confirm if the hair dryers on board are any good? I have heard they are useless and have now drying power.

We watched the Port Canaveral webcam as the Magic left port yesterday soo excited for next weekend!!! It seemed to have left a bit late, hopefully we leave on time as i like to watch the sail out before going to dinner.

I am in serious packing panic mode. I just can't decide what to bring...I always overpack and end up with so many clothes that don't get used so this time I am trying to pack light and do laundry if need be. But at the same time it's making me nervous. This is the first cruise I have been on that actually has self serve laundry faciliites. This is the last full day I have to pack..I work for the next 4 days and then it's VACATION TIME!!

Thankyou

going crazy here.

I dont feel good and

My Mother has decided to come and visit us........
She has never beo my new home since we bought it 2 years ago.

The thing is we pick her up from orlando THE DAY WE GET OFF THE CRUISE:scared1:

So not only did i have to get everything packed up but house has to be spotless to walk back into!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:scared1:

BUT we are almost done !!!

I haven't had time to pre-iron everything as planned. How are the ironing boards in the laundry if I have to use them? Is there a line to use them? I bought some Wrinkle Release spray, but I don't think that works well on everything.

Please if any one knows how will i transport the case of water for lokkabear..
Do i neeed to have it in a suitcase or just tagged with our room # and does it count as a bag if it is not in a suitcase?

I guess same question for cans of bear.

thanks guys!

Kaylee,
The ironing rooms are hit or miss. They are not pleasurable but tolerable.
They can be hot.

On Formal night you might as well forget it or iron very early.

OR you can always send out your clothes to be ironed for a nominal fee we did almost all of our clothes one year and it was like $40.

Me too! Only my problem is everytime I go into my closet I see another pair of shoes I want to take! I am trying to pack lighter this time and only take 2 pairs of shoes for dinners... NOT easy... :rotfl:

Funny, I feel the same way when my mom comes to visit! :lmao: I hope you feel better!

You can always send them out if ironing boards are bad...

I think it has to be in a bag. They won't just take the shrink-wrapped package any more. I think you can put it in a big garbage bag though. Something on the boards about it somewhere...

I have a soft sided cooler I am bringing to the port to load it up in. I hope the size is ok, not sure what they allow for carry on size but I heard soft sided coolers are ok. We can shove it in there when I get to the port.

thanks for the confirmation on the hair dryers. I got most of our packing done today. DH will get the last few things to buy and i just need to pack a few last minutes for me on Thursday night.

Look at all of our tickers so close to the end now, so exciting! :cool1:

My shuttle with happy limo gives us a 15 minute stop and our hotel is near the airport. Does anyone know if there is a Target or a good place to stop for snacks, alcohol and pull-ups on the way to Port Canaveral?

AHHHHH!!!!!! I just typed a whole big long response-----and it's gone! :(

I've been gone from my laptop for the weekend- glad to be back to the DISBoards- whoo hoo!! We leave for FL in four days!!

First off- Alexis, I'm so sorry to hear about your Gma. My father was battling leukemia before we left on our last Disney cruise....he passed right after we came home- so I am currently living in fear of someone getting ill in our family!! Sending HUGE prayers your way.....and wishing you a safe drive to go and visit her. :flower3:

I too bring my own hairdryer. ::MinnieMo

Fun story- my DH logged into our DCL ressie for the first time tonight on his own computer, and found an available Palo reservation!!! Sure, its the first night at 7pm, but I told him to go ahead and book it. We can always cancel later. Our kids are young enough, that they'll be overwhelmed enough with the pool time, Sail Away party, etc that they don't need to sit at a table for two hours that night too......I just worry that we're being rude to our servers? Anywhoo---since I booked all of our excursions independently (Captain Marvins/Nachi)- my DH says "Look at that! We only have ONE Saved Activity----and IIIII made it!" Excited for him to feel involved with this whole behind the scenes pre-cruise deal!!! pirate:

And I may have asked this before----but how many suitcases is your family bringing? (Not carry ons.) I'm so curious!!

we used happy limo last time, they were great! they stopped at a grocery store for us. we got water, laundry detergent, gum (they dont sale it on the ship), and a few candies for my older kids to take when they went to a movie on board (they sale candy but its not cheap)
This time my cousins are picking us up at the airport and dropping us off at the port. I know i'm going to be so tiered, we fly the red eye (land at 7:05 local time, 4:05 our time) and I cant sleep on planes:scared1:

yes soft shelled coolers are ok. You cant but it in a suitcase (or so they say) I guess they had problems with things breaking and getting peoples luggage wet. you can carry on any size of bag, just a pain. I pack a gym type bag in my suitcase and pull it out when we're at the store and then have my DH carry it:)

here's the show program, if anybody wants it:

Sat, port canaveral- ALL ABOARD, LET THE MAGIC BEGIN
Sun, Key West-
Mon, At Sea-TWICE CHARMED
Tues, Grand Cayman-VILLAINS TONIGHT (the new one, not sure of the name)
Wed, Cozumel-PIRATE PARTY
Thurs, At Sea-
Fri, Castaway Cay- REMEMBER THE MAGIC

my DH leaves in the morning for DC (work) then flies home thurs around midnight then friday we leave!!!!!!!!

This is probably a silly question, but I want to make sure this is ok. Is is ok to pack sealed food (like candy) in your checked luggage?
