Jan. 22- 29 , 2011 Western Caribean Cruise on the Disney Magic!!!

Thanks so much, Lynn!! That makes me feel much better! I pictured all these black ties staring at us slobs, because we ruined the ambiance of the evening. LOL maybe we will be able to swing it. I can at least always make the girls look cute and dressed up, drawing attention away from their parents. LOL

Right now we're waitlisted for 1st seating, so if we stay on second I think Pirate night would be the one to skip as well. I want the kids to be able to see.

Thanks again!

Anyone else already making list of clothes........
Cant believe it but i started last night.

I recently got a tatoo on my back and want my straps to be just right to show off my tat.

HAVE A GREAT EVENING ALL!!

TTFN

I have my packing list all set, but am now going through and deciding what to take specifically. I am horrible about overpacking and want to do better this time! :rolleyes1

What is your tattoo of? Can't wait to see it!

Hi everyone!

Kelli - I just saw that you sent me a candy list today, but I didn't get it. Maybe you could re-send?

Just re-sent the list. If it doesn't show up, check your spam. Sometimes stuff with attachments get caught in my spam...

I have definitely been agonizing about clothes already. LOL
Think I am going to play it by ear on the weather since just not sure how it's going to be. AH!

The clothing store Justice has some cute pink pirate shirts and bandanas.. think i'm gonna pick those up for them.

Aaarrrggghhh!! Justice!! :scared1: It is my DD's FAVORITE store on the planet! Thankfully everytime I open my e-mail or regular mailbox there is yet another coupon for ... JUSTICE!!! :headache:

I will, however, check out the pirate stuff as the DD is in dire need of fall/winter clothes. All her winter stuff from last year look like capris & 3/4 sleeves!!

That sounds about how we will be dressing for formal and semi formal nights. DH doesn't even own a jacket so it will be his dress pants, and a shirt and tie, DS wants to wear his suit for formal and a shirt and his dress pants for semi formal. DD has a formal dress she will be wearing and another dress she will be wearing for semi formal, and I myself will be wearing one of the 3 summer dresses DH bought me or perhaps my dress pants with a nice halter. For other nights, the boys will be in jeans with nice shirts and DD and I will be in something like a dress or capris and a nice top. I am wearing flip flops for ALL of the above evenings! I do have some nicer ones for my dresses but I am not bringing my heels. This is our very first crusie so was unsure what to expect but my wonderful travel assistant Abraham told me he never had to wear a tie even once because no one else did. He also told me his 3 yr old son wore jeans and a polo shirt and his wife just wore capris and a nice top. This was VERY helpful and I stopped stressing quite so much. As per Kelli's suggestion, we will be bringing something warm to wear that will go with what we are wearing. Brooke got her first pashmina this weekend and was so happy...lol She is so easy to please as long as I tell her it's for the cruise...lol.

:grouphug:

3/3/3 baby! 3 months, 3 weeks and 3 days till we get to relax on deck with a beverage of choice!

3/3/3 baby! 3 months, 3 weeks and 3 days till we get to relax on deck with a beverage of choice!

I don't know about everyone else, but I plan on having several beverages of choice.:woohoo:

Most nights I will either be wearing a sundress or other casual dress. I have a new dress for formal night that I got for $27 on clearance. I had planned to wear it to my SIL's wedding, but I found out it was the same color as the bridesmaids dresses. Since I was doing a reading I didn't want to look like a "wanna-be" bridesmaid, lol. Doug will most likely wear a polo and khaki's and then his suit for formal and semi-formal. The boys will likely be the same. I don't think Jake's 1st communion suit with fit Jason, so I will probably be buying two suits when it gets closer, unless I can find something used somewhere. Jason will need one for 1st communion in the spring anyway, so it's really just Jake that will be "extra". We like being able to dress up for dinner since our typical meals out with the kids generally means Bob Evans or another casual restaurant.

My real problem is losing a few pounds so all my shorts aren't so snug. I've started walking more now that the kids are back in school, and watching my portions, but so far I haven't seen any results. Hopfully I'll make some headway before all that holiday food starts to becken to me.:lmao:

Lynn: I still need your reservation infor so I can add you to the table. I have Kelli's info and would like to get it all done in one email so nothign is forgotten.

Great to know about the formal nights. :) I figured DD could wear her Christmas dress, DH can wear a suit, and me....well I don't have any fancy dresses since pre-baby.....and that's not good! :) Maybe I'll do some shopping after during after Christmas sales. :) It would be nice to get a formal pictures all together.

Speaking of pictures, are the lines usually long for them? I've only been on RCI and we've had to wait in some decent lines that I know DD would not stand for....well stand for AND then sit for a long dinner. :)

My DS's idea of formal is pretty un-formal! It's almost impossible to get the boy into anything other than shorts or sweatpants. When he was smaller he had a fit when it got hot and we wouldn't let him sweat to death in his sweatpants, so we came up with "sweat shorts". Basically shorts with elastic waist. :lmao: Not much has changed over the years but we told him last year (and this) that he WILL be wearing khaki's at least twice! We threatened to buy him a suit and I thought he would just die! :lmao: Found a picture in the PassPorter guide of a 2 or 3 year old kid in a sort of captain's uniform suit with a hat. Told him if he argued, he would be wearing that!

DD loves to dress up, but prefers a more "Vegas showgirl" style... :sad2:

I just love to dress up for whatever reason, hence my tendency to overpack! DH will bring a suit for formal night and dinner at Palo...

IT defininitley depends on when you show up.
check the times and be there early if you know you want a certain pic.
especially if you want formal mickey or minnie.

I never wait for more than 5 minutes and have LOTS of pics to choose from by the end of the week!

For instance there will be more than one more than 5 differnt places to get pics done on formal nights all kinds of back grounds etc.

HAHAHAHAH
ROTFL!!!

THIS IS OUR FAMILY TOOO!!!!

I LOVE TO DRESS UP and if i had the time to shop more would probablly dress up more for the cruise.
DH really doesnt care just hates to wear a tie
DS....he hates to take a shower and would wear the same dirty clothes for days on end but he will dress up for formal night and pics
DD.......OMG!!!!! she is the dress up queen....I hear ya when you say VEGAS SHOWGIRL!!!! OMG!!!!! she bought heels right before the crusie last year, that i swear i cant even walk in they are too high i thought for sure she was going to break her nexk on the cruise.

someone ask about my new tatoo.......

It is a CURSIVE L.........
pretty large
and on the stem between the 2 circles of the L (hard to explain)
is a crown!!!

L=for my name of course
crown=becasue i like to think i am a princess!!!

Funny story:
When me and Dh first got together we had been dating about 4-5 weeks and i wanted to do soemthing he didnt want to do it.....
I told him like this...............
Just letting you know i am the princess, you will treat me like such, we will do what i want to do how i want to do it when i want to do it....you have been warned we can end the relationship now if you would like...but dont tell me later i didnt let you know up front how its gonna be. I will be treated like a princess.

Couple years later, something happened and i wasnt getting what i wanted, i gently reminded him he had been warned.
He uses the excuse that he thought i was kidding....
I wasnt!!!!!!

So now i am jokingly and lovingly called the princess!!!!:wizard:

So now i have been branded all he needs to do is look on my back and know!!

dizzi - can't wait to see the tattoo! It sounds beautiful and like a great reminder of just who/what you are! princess:

Glad my kids aren't the only ones about dressing up! Both of them think there is some federal law again bathing and would happily go for a week or more without one if allowed. :scared1: Can't wait until we hit the point that we can't get them OUT of the shower! :rotfl:

Obviously, I spend WAY too much time here. Especially at work... :rolleyes1

I think we will try for one of the family lifestyles portraits as we haven't had one in a long time. I would love to have everyone in similar clothes or the same color clothes as those always look so good, but that is just not our family!

My DH and kids LOVE to dress up! So do I! Where we live though is small town atmosphere so DH has never needed a suit jacket. DS planned on wearing his suit as soon as we said there was a formal night...lol and Brooke bought a few new dresses for modeling so she plans to bring them... ALL OF THEM! I have some formal type dresses but I don't think I will fit them well this year(lost 16 lbs since last winter!) so the summer dresses will have to do. I do have a beautiful pair of flowy pants and a nice halter I may wear for formal but I am still undecided. DH says I still have to PACK all this stuff if I am going to wear it and I am not sure I will have the room.

Thank you for your info Lynn! I will email Abraham as soon as I finish this post. I cannot wait to sit down with a nice bottle of wine and enjoy some adult conversation!

I love the sound of your tattoo Lynn!!! That sounds so beautiful! I can't wait to see it! I am just working on my second tattoo right now that will be on the back of my neck. It will be a crescent moon with 3 stars symbolizing my 3 kids and each star will have the childs initials in GITD ink. My current tattoo is a tribute to both my grandmothers who ironically both died of breast cancer. It is a pink set of boxing gloves with a BC ribbon for the ties and the caption "Fight like a girl!".

So I bought some card games to bring along.... Phase 10, which is close to the Oh $#!t game I discussed earlier but my mom and I are still looking for the rules to that game because it is alot more challenging and fun. A Mind Trap Travel version, Mad Gab travel and Scategories travel.

Man! I think it should be January soon. I don't know if I can wait another 3 1/2 months.

Chrisse,

I think your tatoos sound really cool

I would like to do something for my kiddos some day too.
I love the "fight like a girl", that saying means so much!

I also have one on my ankle it was my first.
It is a mickey head with a beachy palm tree scene inside of it.
