Jan. 22, 2012 - 4 day Dream Cruise!!
I think I enjoy the planning as much as I love the cruise itself.
I agree we booked in February its been 10 months of planning and excitement I kinda feel overwhelmed that next month it will all be over just a memory. But I can't wait! Just need to calm my nerves and enjoy the journey. Won't be long and were on our way

Hi All,

I am new here to DISBoards. My DH, DS (9), DD (7) and I are traveling on this cruise. We are so excited. DH and I cruised on the Wonder in Aug. 2000 for our honeymoon. We said then that when we have kids we will come back on another Disney Cruise. Now is the time. We work for the airlines and we got an interlink rate on this sailing that we couldn't pass up. We are surprising our kiddos. They won't know about it until we go to the airport.
DH and I cruise every few years. Our most recent was NCL Epic this year in the Mediterranean. It was a fabulous trip, but I have always said our Disney Cruise in 2000 was the best ship I have ever been on.
I know it is probably too late to participate in the FE. But, I would love to if it isn't too late.
Hope to meet some of you on board.

Trisha

Hello, DIS friends!

I'm attending this cruise with my mom and my fiance as a "Research Cruise" preceding our Wedding cruise aboard the Dream in September! My DM and I have been on the Magic twice (8-9 years ago! wow does time fly!) and my DF has never cruised before. We want to check out all the new features like the Aqua Duck, to check out all the lounges and bars, and to scope out all of the beautiful places onboard where we can take wedding photos. Also, I figure that since my DF and I will be so stressed out ON our wedding cruise, that we may not have time to wander around and enjoy everything since THAT cruise is only a 3-nighter (Sept 13-16!)

Anyways, the cruise is quickly approaching! It's a little sad, but I can't wait for Christmas to be over because I'm more eager for this cruise! I live about 5 minutes away from WDW, so it's torture to see the DCL buses every day, even though I'm close enough to just drive! Well, I hope everyone else is as excited as we are! I'll have to dig up some lime green to wear onboard :thumbsup2

Congratulations! My hubby and I are DisneyWeds too. Although we looked into getting married on a Disney Cruise we ended up going with the gazebo at the Disney Resort instead. I couldn't wrap my head around officially being married in the cruise terminal and having the ceremony days later. Best of luck on the wedding cruise and enjoy your research cruise. I look forward to having a drink with you in one of the lounges.

We got our cruise docs today.:banana::banana::banana:

Happy Holidays to my fellow cruisers.

Hi,

I posted above but didn't get a reply. Is there a way to still get into the FE for our Jan. 22 sailing. We just booked and we would love to participate.

Welcome! I am checking with the other families who are doing the FE to see if they can accomodate a new family. We had a cut-off date of 12/1 so that it wouldn't be too overwhelming with the holidays. If you check back a few pages, I posted the information I need for our list, which you can PM me and I will e-mail out a list of participants. I will let you know what everyone decides.

Thank you Julianne,

I will PM you.

Want a tip: Never, ever, give your family a vacation, if you feel the need to be generous to someone give it to a stranger.

Very interesting. What is the history of this ? I was planning to offer some
family members a cruise - but hedging around - like opening up a can of worms.

Question ??
The goal is to buy a gift for each FE cabin that signs up for this ?
And what kind of gift is considered a "little gift or memento?"

Let's say 100 people sign up. That means buying 100 momentos ?
or even 50 ?

What are some of the FE momentos that people have given or
received ??

Lori

Does this online group meet on the ship ?

I know there are group meets for gold or platinum
cruisers and group meets for DVC and what other
group meets are there ?

Thx

Yes that is the goal, I think right now we have around 10 families with several children each. I purchased one main gift for the family and then a few things for each child, after all its about the children. They are planning an optional meet. Heres a link to some peoples FE gifts

Thanks for the ideas on the HM gifts for the FE.
I will give it some serious thought for my next cruise.

Which resort did you get married at? My friend got married at Sea Breeze Point between the Boardwalk and Beach Club... I also know that there's a spot at Yacht Club and another spot at the Boardwalk that they do weddings... (I was never a fan of the Wedding Pavilion, to be honest!) From what I've gathered online so far, the way they handle cruise brides with planning is very different than the way regular disney weddings get planned! I'm okay with getting legally married one day then having my real ceremony the next day. The way I see it, one's just the signing of a paper and the other is the REAL wedding! Anyways, the lounge we're most excited about is Pink's!!! I can't wait to try their bubbly drinks!!! I know I'm going to loooove it there! I'm so excited for this cruise!

I just emailed an updated FE distribution list to everyone. We will be having a short meet on 1/22 from 3:00-3:30 in the Vista Cafe, deck 4, midship. Even if you are not participating in the FE, feel free to drop by to say hello. We will be on the Dream before we know it!

We got married in the Wedding Gazebo near the Boardwalk hotel. I have never heard of Pink's so we will have to try it out. 2 more sleeps...it is coming so quickly. I sooo need to pack.

I am watching you guys sail out to sea right now on Webcam, hope you have a WONDERful time! A MAGICal trip!

Anyone pick up a med. size black bags by accident? My DD's luggage was not in the Goofy area when went to got our bags. We looked everywhere for it and had pretty much everyone who works there looking for it also.
I hope it shows up soon.

Hope everyone had a great cruise.

I brought home someones flu, YUKIE!

Welcome home! I'm keeping track of all the port calls at Castaway Cay this year. If someone could let me know for sure if you made it, that would be great. A weather report would be a bonus!

Oh no! I hope your luggage turns up. Sorry you got sick! That is one of my biggest fears traveling this time of year. Feel better soon!!
