Jan. 22, 2012 - 4 day Dream Cruise!!
SSR Lover, Julianne just noticed that you are from Bel Air Md, we're in Joppa, one of my Sister-in-laws and 1 Brother-in-law are in Bel Air they are coming with us.
Maybe we can get together before the cruise and have our own little DIS met.
That's great idea! I'm glad there are some other Marylanders joining us. It's funny, a fellow cruiser in January cruise actually turned out to be someone I went to High School with, so it is a small world!

Hi all!! Sorry I have neglected to post here!

Sadly our plans changed and I forgot to come on here and let you all know!!

I have now updated the first post and once again apologize!!

Have fun on the cruise!

Welcome! That's so exciting that you are going by yourself. I'm sure you will have blast!

Welcome back to our meet thread! Just PM me with your FE info when you get a chance and I will e-mail you a copy of the list.

**If there are any other folks out there who had signed up for the original FE list, I do not have it, so please PM me with the info. listed on page 6 of this thread.** Thanks!

Julianne

I am now added to the Facebook FE list. Thank you though...was going to suggest maybe PMing the person who was orginally collecting the list to see who else may have been missed...however it seems we have lost most who were chatting on here with me in the beginning...so to a fresh start..and hopefully a FE list that makes it to atleast 10 families. :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

90 DAYS LEFT!!! :dance3::dance3::dance3:

Who's excited? :cheer2:

ME ME ME!!! We booked our Palo and Nursery reservations yesterday! Palo dinner on Castaway Day, Palo brunch on the At Sea day. Littlest one in nursery for those times.

Still contemplating a pedi - should do that soon, before booking opens up to everyone! LOL!

Starting to think about FE gifts...and should probably do our actual FE! Trying to get through Halloween costumes first - our kids are being Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia. :-)

Its unreal how fast it is coming I'm so anxious I hate flying (especially in winter worrying if your flight will even depart) and having 11 months of worrying is really taking a toll on me. Its our first cruise so I'm worried about that as well. But I can't wait 87 days til were at WDW then off on the dream :cool1:

We're doing WDW first too - 7 nights @ AKV. We're driving down (crazy!) but figure it's cheaper in the long run. So, hoping for good driving weather!

Our FE group seems pretty small - do you think it'll pick up the closer we get to the cruise? I was expecting a lot more people but think the small group might be nice too - less cabins = more of the budget per cabin! ;-) I've really got to narrow down my ideas though...I'm having a hard time choosing!

Just curious...how long is your drive? We are also driving and it's a little over 22 hours from us from Iowa. It's really not as bad as it seems though. I just dread the drive home...not the way out there!

This will be our first Disney cruise and our first fish extender. I'm actually a little happy our group isn't too big. It'll make it more personal and be easier for us beginners! When is the cut-off again? Does anyone remember?

We're driving down from Maryland with 2 vehicles 4 teenagers and 1 in the making, it's about 17 hours for us. We leave at night, less traffic that way, DH drives most of the way with me giving him a few hours break.
We have a big Ford Excursion, I love it...plenty of room. I usually fold down the middle seat and line the floor area with thick kids sleep mats, pillows and comforters so whoever isn't driving can get some zzz.
I have a portable DVD player and laptops, I'm going to get movies from Redbox, got the converters to keep everything charged, got portable speakers and earbuds so they can hear, packing lots of snacks.

There will be 13 of us arriving 3 days before the cruise one fling in the night before. Looking forward to our first time stay at Bonnet Creek our home resort through Wyndham timeshares.

Not sure who is doing what as far as visiting any parks. I'd like to go to Universal but that's not going to happen this trip unless I win big on the lottery.

Wonder if we'll be sailing with a full ship...I hope not.

Halloween bonfire at my house this weekend maybe we'll get some cruise talk in.:woohoo: Y'all have a fun safe trick-or-treat.:lovestruc

Our drive is about 24 hours straight through, including stops. We're in Ontario, just a little west of Toronto. Not sure it will be so speedy with a 4yr old and a 1 1/2yr old though. We'll probably leave on the Friday night after dinner, and drive straight through. We don't check into AKV until the Sunday before the cruise, so that gives us plenty of time. If we get down to FL early, we'll likely find something outside of WDW or even see about a Value for the night.

I think the FE cutoff is set for December 1, because of the holidays in there. I'm happy with a small group too - excited to start making/putting stuff together for everyone. Considering purchasing a FE - probably could buy for as much as it will take me to get all the supplies. Plus, I want to order custom pillowcases for the kids for Christmas to take on and have signed, and the shop on Etsy that I found does both, so I'd save on shipping...(this is me justifying!)

1 week til online check in can't wait!!!!! I agree I like the smaller FE group its our first time like others and I don't want to be spending too much time delivering goodies. Are we going to make a schedule so the gifts are given on different days. Don't want them all in the first day then nothing for 3 days after? I can't wait I'm so excited!!! Its been a very busy fall I just want to relax on vacation and know I've arrived safely in Florida (no snow delays please)

Yes, I will be working up a schedule for FE distribution once we hit 12/1 when I know how many families we are dealing with. If anyone has a request for a certain day, please let me know. If there is anyone else who wants to sign up please PM me. I will be e-mailing an updated list hopefully this weekend.

Shellannv and I just came off a 3 nite Carnival Cruise to the Bahamas & we were docked next to the Dream twice. For any new cruisers wondering if Disney is worth the extra money my answer is YES!!! We can't wait for January!!! We are driving as well- we've done it several times now and it's not so bad.

We are 60 days out!!!:banana:

Sorry I didn't get that FE list emailed last weekend. I will definitely have it out to you in the next few days.

We are coming down to the wire to sign up for our FE group, so if there is anyone out there on the fence, the deadline is December 1st. Please send me a PM if you want to join us.

I hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving!!

Julianne

Hi! My DD, her DF and I will be cruising with all of you. It is last minute (sort of) DD her DF will be getting married on the Dream in Sept 2012 so we thought we needed a research trip! What a great excuse.

Hello, DIS friends!

I'm attending this cruise with my mom and my fiance as a "Research Cruise" preceding our Wedding cruise aboard the Dream in September! My DM and I have been on the Magic twice (8-9 years ago! wow does time fly!) and my DF has never cruised before. We want to check out all the new features like the Aqua Duck, to check out all the lounges and bars, and to scope out all of the beautiful places onboard where we can take wedding photos. Also, I figure that since my DF and I will be so stressed out ON our wedding cruise, that we may not have time to wander around and enjoy everything since THAT cruise is only a 3-nighter (Sept 13-16!)

Anyways, the cruise is quickly approaching! It's a little sad, but I can't wait for Christmas to be over because I'm more eager for this cruise! I live about 5 minutes away from WDW, so it's torture to see the DCL buses every day, even though I'm close enough to just drive! Well, I hope everyone else is as excited as we are! I'll have to dig up some lime green to wear onboard :thumbsup2

I am with my Jilly Bean- I cant wait for January to get here. We are going to have such fun!

Well it's been along wait for us and before you know it, it will be here and gone, :(

I think I enjoy the planning as much as I love the cruise itself.

We've had our ups and down in our little family here, one has decided that he just can't leave that girlfriend behind, so we took our loses and said O.K. you can stay home, some thought they would take full credit in the eyes of their children and totally pissed the planner and her DH off, some can't decide on Sea World, WDW or Universal Studios. We're getting it together slowly, I hope, lol.
Just gotta get through Christmas now:scared1:
