Jan 22, 2005 Eastern Cruise MAGIC Anyone?

It was great meeting fellow DISers on board- and on land and sea as well! MCazer, cadbury's mom, and hubby to newtodisney- The Doubloon excursion was great- wasn't it?!

The friends' that we were travelling with 7 year old daughter came down with croup the last night of the cruise. (A couple of days before, a small girl in front of us in the show was doing the croup cough the entire time. We should have left, but were enjoying the show............)

Anyway, my daughter was sent home from school yesterday with a 104 degree fever and has- you guessed it- croup!

Not as dramatic as all of the stuff with you though, Enduke. I hope everyone gets back together and well real soon!

Until the next time------

mickeyfanmom hope your daughter is better soon!

that is how my parents started out.
I didn't mean to be dramatic as we are laughing about it here.
As long as we are all healthly again soon!
I just wanted everyone to know that there is a strain of flu that must have went around on the ship which was not covered in the flu shot. I want everyone to be careful! the doctor said this starts as a cough then proceeds from there. so if anyone is in doubt please see a doctor.
Heck even the school nurse called me yesterday and wanted to know if we were on a ship that had any kind of an outbreak that NIck could infect the school with LOL.
So everyone Pleasae becareful!!!

As far as the eye thing...after the shock of it all we got a chuckle out of it when every one kept coming up to my son saying " how are you , your the one we saw on the golf cart with the blood"

be healthy eveyone!!!

:laughing:Couldn't agree more!!! It was such a blast and I really enjoyed meeting all of you! :Pinkbounc
This was our best cruise ever...great weather and great friends...who could possibly ask for more :teeth: My stupid computer won't let me upload my pictures :badpc: I've got some good ones and can't wait to share! ::yes::

Sending buckets of Pixie Dust to these fellow DISer's:
Enduke I enjoyed meeting you at Palo's and am so sorry your parents got sick and your poor son needed stitches:eek:
Mickeyfanmom Sure hope your friend's daughter feels better soon :( Loved getting to know you and your cute family on the Doubloon.....PS..nice tattoo placement ;) :p
Mickeyminder OMG...what a nightmare trip home you had! What a horrible way to end such a wonderful cruise...thanks again for letting us tour your wonderful cabin...

And a special THANK YOU to the following DISer's who made our cruise extra-special::
 pirate: MCazer and family, Mickeyfanmom and family, Newtodisney and especially Newtodisney's hubby who was so sweet as to go parasailing not once, but TWICE with two boys whose moms chickened out:blush: :p

I wish I could do it all over again!

Couldn't agree more! We haven't even unpacked all of the way yet. When we get our pictures together we will definitely send the interesting ones to you!

I wish that we were on the ocean right now instead of in front of my computer!

Did anyone from the 1/22 book again onboard?! :wizard:

Thanks for your kind words Ellie!

I definitely think that something was going around. I don't feel all the way right myself, although that could partially be my depression at having to go back to working, cooking, cleaning laundry etc. :badpc:

Just waiting until we can all do it again--- :hourglass

Back to reality. We got our luggage to today and are sorting through the piles of laundry and mail. We rebooked for the January 22, 2006 four day Wonder - got the same stateroom. :bounce: It was so wonderful to meet everyone. Tea was awesome. I hope everyone is feeling better and adjusting to life on land. The DISboard certainly made the cruise more enjoyable by bringing so many great people together. Thank you all.

Ok, I know this sounds funny, but could you guys list your screen names and then your name (maybe a brief description of what you and your family looked like).

When I met you all, it is hard to remember who is who by screen name if you don't have your name in the post.

I will start:

MCazer - Margaret (Red hair), Steven (6'2" dark brown hair /mustache) Emily 9 And Robert 6

I attended the tea (late). My husband played poker, we did the Doubloon snorkel tour. I have pictures BTW and will email them to anyone that wants them.

I also think I have a picture on my digital camera of PiperG's family, so I need your email.

They are funny! I especially love the one of us with Billy- very cute!

Rocky's didn't make it on there- I wonder how bad it was?! :teeth:

(The one that we took on our camera turned out pretty good at least.)

 Thanks for letting us know that we were on there!

Dawn,

I emailed them some pictures and they posted some. They do have Rocky on there. It is on the right side and you have to scroll over. Here is a link, hope it works!

Hello all.

As a first time cruiser thought I would come back with my thoughts. Turned out I wasnt much of a cruiser. Felt really confined and bored for most of the trip. The 8:30 seating time was an absolute disaster with small kids who normally go to bed at that time, they were constantly falling asleep during the meal.

The food was really good, and a couple of the shows Hercules and Dreams were outsdanding. Really enjoyed a hike and kayaking trip on Castaway Key. I found the snorkelling in St. Maartens and Castaway Cay to be really dissappointing compared to Hawaii though. Really couldnt stand the Carribean Islands. Couldnt take five steps without aggressive sellers coming after you including at the beach. Loved the ride on the last night, that was fun.

We also did a week at Walt Disney World. Found Florida to be an unfriendly place compared to California. The highway system with all its tolls on roads that dont get you anywhere were atrocious. The highways were really badly marked as well, they never told you the services available at exits. DisneyWorld was fun with two small kids, although I couldnt believe how many rides were missing with all that extra space - the Matterhorn, Alice, Mr. Toad to name a few. It was really nice to revisit Space Mountain and the Country Bears though. Loved turtletalk with Crush as did my one year old who is a Dude Crush fanatic.

Next year it is back to Maui for the normal vacation. Surfing, cliffjumping and snorkelling all in the same day. Of course now that my daughter is turning two we will have a side trip to Disneyland too.

I got a postcard in the mail yesterday to do a survey online about our cruise.

A few things I asked for were:

new Disney ship
new itinarary (besides the West Coast)
a better photo package that includes formal pictures
the option of getting formal pictures in 6 x 8
a casino

I also told them to check out this website because they would find out what a lot of other people think!

Let's hope they do!
