Jan 22, 2005 Eastern Cruise MAGIC Anyone?

Well, I wanted to report some news (good or bad, you can judge). Laurie and I won't be making the 7-day in January due to increasing wedding costs :rolleyes:

We will, hoever, be able to get a ride on the Wonder from Jan 23-27, so it isn't a total absence of the Disney cruise experience. I was, however, looking forward to spending time with all of you.

I wish you fair winds and following seas. Please wave at the Wonder as she returns to pick laurie and I up!!

Have fun!

100 days! Woo hoo!

(I had to do this, because this is the only place that I can! Nobody around me wants to hear about the cruise anymore, including my own family that is going with me! HAH! :cool: )

Well, I have booked my airfare, my rental cars and our room at the Quality Suites in Cocoa Beach.

They had an internet rate of $89.10 for 1 King Bed, Suite,
No Smoking 1 Bedroom Suite Living Room Sofabed-2Person (our children free) City View Microwave Refrigerator

I booked through their website, and got the "INTERNET USER'S RATE. ($89.10)

However, if you want to get the "Cruise Package" Park & Cruise 2 room suite-Free shuttle for $109.00 you need to go to EXPEDIA, they don't offer it on their website or on Orbitz. I called them directly because I could not find it.

Here is what Expedia says about the package. (BTW the rooms are identical).

King size bed in master bedroom and queen size sofa bed in the living room. 750 square feet. Wet bar, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, TV and phone in both rooms.

Park and Cruise Special – Rate includes:

Complimentary parking
Complimentary shuttle to cruise terminal
Two Pineapple Moon shirts
Discount card good for 15% off purchases at the Cocoa Beach Surf Company
Guest will be asked to park at the hotel’s sister property, but parking and shuttle is included in the rate. Shuttle appointments must be scheduled upon arrival.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We don't need the free shuttle or free parking as we are renting a car and will just have my husband drop me and the kids off at the terminal and have him drop the car off and catch the rental car companies shuttle. It should be easy for him, as he will not have luggage or anything.
Quality Suites has no pool, but in January, do you really think that matters that much? We have gone in October and the weather was too cold to swim. Anyway, it is not important enough to pay $80 more for the night for the same type of accomodations at the Radisson where we stayed last time (for $99 - now they want $179 for the same room) YIKES!
I haven't read anything bad about this place. Anyone familiar with it?
Here is what their website says:
I found this on the budget board and wanted to share it with my fellow cruisers. Big Lots has Disney magnet sheets for $3.99! You get: 2 8.5 x 11 sheets, 2 5 x 7 sheets, and a free print studio cd, with Disney characters!!!! Now there are no excuse not to get those creative door signs made! Well...unless you don't have a Big Lots! Good luck and happy shopping!
Thanks for the info on the Disney Magnet Sheets. I got mine today and played with the software-it's very easy to use. As soon as I change my ink cartridge I'll print.
WooHoo :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
We are under 90 days. Let the serious planning begin. We have a lot of looks, but not too many posts on this thread. Lets get ready to go. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc
DH is on the internet right now searching for a new straw hat for me! I can't believe how close we are:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
I'm usually an obsessive planner- (note my fascination with these boards!) but just realized that I need to get serious about finding somewhere to stay the night before the cruise!
We were staying with friends, but are rethinking that after figuring out that they are still 3 hours away from the port.
I really want to stay at the Radisson because of the parking situation, but can only get a smoking room and since my daughter has asthma that is not an option for us.
We'll see- can't wait for January!!
We're probably going to stay at the Quality Suites at the Port. Mcazer had also posted that she will be there. They have a shuttle or we can use Art's. Come on over and join us. Maybe we can all have dinner the night before.
I'm usually further ahead with my planning, but things have been very busy this summer and we had some short trips in between. Went to Charlotte last weekend, family illnesses, you know how it goes. I havn't even decided on shore excursions yet. Oh, so much to do, but then we get to relax and let Disney take care of us. ::MickeyMo
Can you leave your car at the Quality Suites? I did see Margaret's email about the hotel, but at that time we were staying with our friends so I don't remember if she said that you could park there or not.
Our friends are also coming in from NJ to cruise with us and are leaving the hotel up to me. So I am definitely interested in finding somewhere good.
Thanks for the info- please let me know about the parking!:D
PS- ONCE AGAIN- I can't wait until January!
We've finally made our night-before reservations! After lots of anticipation, the winter rate codes came out and we got a great rate at AKL for the night before.
Now to get rental car ressies and trip insurance...
Liz
Has anyone thought about shore excursions? I have a DD6, DD8 and DS12 and I'm not sure what to do when we are at port.
We just made our airline reservations. The rates are down quite a bit right now with rumors that they are going to go back up. We will be arriving in Orlando at about 10:00 a.m. We also made reservations at Quality Suites for the night before the cruise. We applied for our passports (just to simplify things) last weekend. Now, on to shore excursions, transporation, shopping, packing, etc. So much to do...:crazy: We are getting so close.
Hi, we just booked this cruise yesterday so please add us to the list
This will be our fourth Disney Cruise and we are only taking part of our family. Me, dh, dd8 1/2 and dd3 1/2. Our older dds are staying home with grandparents as they can't miss that much school time.
Right now we are a category 8 guarantee. Waitlisted for something with a balcony. We will be happy just to be on the ship.
Booked our airline, now need to get a room the night before and decide on whether or not to rent a car.
My dds enjoy the clubs and I am hoping they make a buddy to hang out with there.
Dd8 1/2 Emily
