Jan 22, 2005 Eastern Cruise MAGIC Anyone?

Hey everyone,

As you are starting to prepare for the trip, don't forget to buy green ribbon somewhere. On our last Magic cruise, I was wearing my green ribbon and met another disser on the bus to the port. Once in line, we met a couple of other dissers wearing ribbons. It was fun getting to know each other, and made the time waiting at the port go really fast.

I've also read about people using the mickey shaped green paint chip samples from home depo. Did you see any of those? Thought they might attach to the lanyard.

We will also be staying at the Radisson the night before (out 3rd time) We love this hotel, hopefully the weather will be nice for swimming!

My husband, two kids and brother will be going on this date! My kids (2 girls) will be 4 1/2 and 6 1/2 at the time of the cruise! My brother is a single guy. Anyone know if any singles ever travel on the Disney cruise? Anyway, this will be our 2nd disney cruise. We went on the Western Carribean cruise Jan 31st 2004 and we loved it. Can't wait for this one!

We live in Washington state..............about an hour north of Seattle. We plan on flying down to Orlando a few days prior to cruise and staying a few extra days after the cruise as well.

can't wait to hear from everyone!

Pianogirl, welcome. We are glad to have you along.
Mcazar, what a great idea. And now we have some new ones to add to your list.
I saw the Magic on the two palms this evening. What an awesome sight. Can't wait until someone else is sitting at home watching us sail by. :boat:

I was thinking the exact same thing!! Hopefully the time will zip on by, especially now that summer is here. I am looking for a new straw hat. . . . . that is something I need to get now, as you can't find stuff like that in MN in the winter. LOL.

I completely understand about the shopping. No one sells bathing suits, shorts and flip-flops in the winter in West Virginia either.

There is a thread on the board about tours of the suites (none are formally available). We will be in a cat. 3. If folks would be interested, we could do an open house sort of thing only for our DIS friends. Just a thought. Let me know what you guys think.

I would love to see your suite. That is very generous of you.

DH and I were just talking about the value of a concierge level service at the parks -vs- the ship. We love our CAT 6, and with just DH, DS and myself there is plenty of room and we use our venanda a lot. In addition, we like being on Deck 6 right above the club/lab. We don't do any spa treatments and are not picky about Palo options, so the opportunity with ressies does not intrigue us either.

Now, at the parks, we are talking about concierge level at the Poly next time we go. I just feel we would get significantly more out of the $$ spent at the Poly. Maybe seeing a Cat 3 will change our mind on that.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. tick tock. . . . down goes the countdown clock!

Hi,
I literally just booked my cruise. I always think of questions to ask the travel agent after the fact.
Can anybody help? We have the later dinner seating. Will this affect us seeing any shows? Dinner is at 8pm. What time do the shows start. I would HATE to miss them.

Also, I'm going with a buddy of mine. No kids. Seems like alot of families going.

Is it too early to start booking the excursions on land?

See you in January!
Anthony

Anthony, welcome to our group. Don't worry about missing the shows. There are two performances to accommodate both dinner seatings. You will go to the show before your late dinner seating, around 6:30 p.m. No kids, no problem. I think some parents start giving them away toward the end of the cruise.

We will also be on the cruise I am booking Monday morning:Pinkbounc :bounce: .It will be Myself and My DH.

Count us in! :bounce: It will be DH, DS15, and myself. We are staying in a category 6 and can't wait for those next 216 days to pass. We just love the great food, relaxing atmosphere, breathtaking scenery, the entertainment, and all the exciting activities (especially DS). You can get all that somewhere else, but on a Disney Cruise it's all wrapped into one. :D Hope we all have an awesome time on the Magic in Jan '05!

Hi,

Should we find green lanyards or just green ribbon to distinguish that we have been on this site? I'm new to this, so I'm not sure what I should get? Do they give us lanyards for the kids if we buy soda cards? Does everyone have to wear some type of identification?

Thanks for clarifying.

:sunny: :wave2: :wave2:

Over the weekend, I realized that in about two weeks, we will be at 199 days! Although I know that is still 6+ months away, it sounds so much better than a number in the 200s. I guess its a phychological thing.

Welcome everyone! :grouphug: There are no more soda cards! :bounce: You can buy a lanyard anywhere or buy one on the ship. It's just an ID holder like some companies use. Some people wear green ribbons or get green Disney paint samples from Home Depo. The paint sample is shaped like a Mickey head, so you could write your DISboard name on it. Since your KTTW card functions as your room key, charge card and ID, you need to carry it around with you most of the time.

This is wonderful. Our group is really growing and we are still more than six months away.

FYI, I've added some updates to the limo pricing.
