Hi I am going to DisneyJan 21 through 27. Do the crowds die down after MLK day? Is it low crowd levels and how is the weather, I get cold easy so I’m thinking sweater jeans and jacket?

We went in 2019 and we were freezing. Full disclosure - we're from southern California but also when I looked up historical weather for that time period (last week of January since we're going again 2022) it looks like the weather we experience was a fluke and it normally doesn't get that cold. From what I've read in other threads, I would say layers are your friend. As you can see our 2019 weather was much colder than 2020 and 2021. I'm hoping for pleasant weather.

@PrincessJasmine88, Crowds in late January aren’t bad. Be aware though that Disney doesn’t necessarily staff as fully as during busier times, may not run as many ride vehicles, etc., so while walkways won’t feel as crowded, standby times might still be long. That said, January is our favorite time to go!

Thanks! Do you remember how crowd and wait times were?

I felt it was a lot more crowded than we had anticipated. We've gone in September and expected similarly low crowds but it was much busier.
International travel made an impact during our 2019 trip but I can't really say in these COVID times. International travel reopened last month but only for those fully vaccinated. I don't think anyone can accurately predict crowds for January right now.

I subscribed to touring plans and they're predicting crowds between 4-6 (on a scale of 1-10) for my dates. I hope they're right.

Sweater jeans & jacket with rain protection will get you through any day in Orlando.

I love January at the parks. Generally cool and dry weather. (generally) Lowish crowds.

We will be there 1/27-2/6. Coming from Utah I'm sure the weather will be wonderful!! I'm banking on it being much busier than anticipated (just my feeling as I look at ADR availability for our dates vs the first half of December and early Jan). Every crowd predicter has our days in the range of 4-6 out of 10 (with a few parks 2/10 and some 7/10 during our stay). I don't feel that's going to be accurate. I mean this week was predicted to be on the low-ish side (2/10-5/10 mostly) and look at the wait times in MK today. 60+ min for most things, Peter Pan at nearly 2 hours currently. With our week predicted to be busier than this week, I expect wait times while we are there to be near or more than what they are for today. We have decided there's just no avoiding having to get G+/ILL$ for our trip. If it ends up crowds and wait times are lower, that'll be great. But we certainly are "planning for the worst, hoping for the best" in terms of crowds on our trip.

DH told me he read that planes from Brazil just recently began landing again (or are about to begin) at MCO.
