Jan 2009 Code Watch

Geeze! I'm glad to know I'm not the only person await info of a discount!

We are booked 1/3 - 1/9, the trip is already paid off but my TA said that if a DVR was released for our time frame we'd be credited back the amount of the difference.

No matter what we're going to WDW is 2 months & 3 days!! But the extra would make for some nice souvenirs!!

I know this is a repeat question but I forgot why today was the big day for a possible new code to be released... :confused3

Question about the $50 change fee...My AAA TA said that there was no fee to change a package after the 45 day pay off...I can apply a discount up until we leave.

Historically codes for the general public have been released around today (I think at the latest the 1st of November).

How late in the day do codes usually come out? I didn't see yesterday's posted until after 4pm eastern time.

Last year the Visa codes came out on the 29th, so we were hoping for the same. Instead the AP codes came out yesterday, so again we thought the GP codes would come out today, :confused3 .

Anyhow, Happy Halloween. I dressed up Toby Juan, but he is in drag, cuz I could only find "Minnie" ears:rotfl:. I've been lurking on this site all morning, and now got to do all the stuff I didn't do - so I will catch you all later!

I think it's so funny to see the dogs dressed up. This family at one of the Halloween events in town dressed up their dog and their 18 month old as skeletons.

My vizsla would go CRAZY if I tried to do that. It would be very entertaining though...:rolleyes1

Just called again. I got the "unless you have a code, I can't look it up" line, but she did said only the FL and AP rates are out for next year, no other discounts for 2009 yet.

Okay, so I did some research with historical dates...for travel in jan 06, the GP codes came out on a tuesday, florida residents on thursday.
For travel in Jan 07, Tuesday was visa, Wed. was AP, Thursday was FL &GP
For travel in Ja 08, Mon was visa, wednesday was AP, and Thursday was GP.
Never released on a weekend...so my best, oh so scientific guess is....later today or on monday. *sigh*

Codes aren't released on weekends, but my guess is that it'll come out on Monday or Tuesday.

For those of you that have called to see if a PIN is attached to your name, what "option" do you select when calling? Reservations? I want to make sure I get to the right person to ask.

So does this mean we can all sleep in .........I didn't think so.

I'm still hoping for a code today. I want to get my plane tickets booked while there's still seats open for people using miles.

Edit: Has anyone called recently, or is it my turn? I've never actually called before and a little confused about whom I should even call, since I think I'm going to book through Dreams Unlimited Travel since they sponsor the boards. But I don't want to burden them with a multitude of calls if I don't have to since I'm not even certain whether I'll be booking a room only or a package...

I had contacted AAA a month ago to see if their rate was lower than what I got booking directly. It was - about $220, but I've got to join AAA ($50). So I told him I'd wait until a VISA code came out - if it wasn't as good, I'd contact him. I started to worry about the AAA discount not being available at my hotel any longer, so I went ahead and told him to take over my reservation and apply the discount. He can fax me a form allowing him to do that. This way, I don't have to cancel and rebook - losing my room at All Star Movies (7 nights with 7 days of base tickets for 2 adults, 2 children). Still a savings of $170 and if a VISA code comes out, I can have him apply that instead. I would've rather not have had to join AAA, but couldn't take the gamble.

We'll be there the exact same dates as you!!!! But we're waiting for a general or Canadian code! At this point, although I'm hoping for major room discount or free dining, we'd take what they offered last year even!

I can't get into Chase's website either. And I've been logging in twenty times a day every day this week. Maybe I caused the system to crash with all that logging in and out... Anyway, I did go to www.disneyrewards.com and clicked on "news & offers" - nothing has changed there yet. But I'll keep looking...
