Jan 2009 Code Watch

I called to see about getting an AP discount since I am tired of the wondering if any other discount is coming. The CM did not know what he was doing. I was having to explain things to him. At first he said I already have a discount. I helped him do the math to show him I was paying rack rates. Then he tells me there are no more AP rooms at the POP. Not sure if that is true or not. I will call back later.:confused3

If you really want an AP discount ask if there is ANY availability at any of the value resorts.

Boy, this is frustrating!!! DH and I made the decision to switch from our ASMusic suite to 2 adjoining rooms if the discount is good. I'm ready to do something...but have to keep waiting....and waiting....and waiting. <sigh>

I cannot stress this enough. Adjoining at Disney is not the same as Connecting. If you have minor children in your party call back and make sure they put that info on the reservation. Minor children cannot be placed in a room that does not connect with the other room.

agnes!

We have been going back and forth about going. I originnally was trying to go in december for the fall getaway promotion, but I teach college classes and my son is in preschool. Between the two school schedules we couldn't make it work. But I don't have to return to school until the 12th of Janurary, so begining of jan was better for us. Then I had decided the 1st thru 8th, but pushed it back to 3-10 so we can avoid some of the late week crowd after new years since most schools are still off until the 5th.
I've found airfare for us for $69 each way from an airport 2 hours away and we can stay in a hotel the night before (7am flight) for $89 and that includes long term parking while we're gone.

I still have not booked anything. :scared1:
I am keepin' the faith in the mouse.
I think I will only give it to next week, then I will have to book.
Here is to a code before then!!! :drinking1

We're in the same boat you are. We're really really hoping for a discount. She's an auditor so you can imagine that every cent of this vacation better be explained and accounted for!

All this waking up early is especially hard because we're in Alaska...7am Eastern time is 3am here!

3am!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:faint: :faint: :faint: :faint: :faint: :faint:
You are my hero! i would NOT be able to do the 3am thing!!! YIKES!:scared1:

Oh my gosh, I even woke up early this morning to check this. Figures. (THIS is not early, I mean, I was up a few hours ago LOL) So since everyone speaks so highly of Mondays, do you thing that will be the day?

Also, now I'm confused after reading the last couple pages. I thought if you had a package that I was told you couldn't use a room only discout? But did that just mean that you can't get the discount on the entire thing (which I figured in the first place, and makes sense, obviously), or that you can't use it at all? Or can you get a discount on your room but the tickets and DDP stay the same?

THought you guys might like to know I just tried to log on to my Disney visa account and it said the website is temporarily unavailable to try back later.

Oh yeah, and DANG IT you all!!! This darn thread has been in my dreams for the past 2 nights now. Argh....

I'm actually up fairly early most of the time. I'm a finance major and I'm up for the market openings in New York at 5:30am Alaska time.

But still...It's darn early! I don't want to be up early on a Saturday hoping for a discount code! I've got tuition to pay so I'm trying as hard as I can to avoid a full price vacation!

I think in the future one of us might have to get a Disney VISA. But living in Alaska we need as many airline miles as possible so the Alaska Airlines VISA is king around here! One of the reasons we can justify this vacation is that we both have enough airline miles for the tickets. Otherwise it's at least $875 each for round trip tickets.

okay anxiously awaiting a code though most likely my dates will not apply Jan 16-22nd (well I would also love a code for Disney Wonder Jan 22-25th but I know that is not happening). If a Disney Visa code does come out for a package is there a way to book it and somehow use my disney visa rewards points to pay it off? I currently have a AAA room rate and paid for 1 night but was planning on using my rewards card (which I don't physically have yet) to pay off the room.

Yes, you can use a DVisa rewards card to pay off your room. So says my TA anyway, and I will be doing that as well. I don't know exactly how that's done (TA will be doing it for us). However, she did say that DVisa dollars are non-refundable, so if you pay it off with reward $ and then have to cancel for whatever reason, you are not able to get any of the rewards $ back. LOVE those rewards $$$! :thumbsup2

Hope I see it!!! (maybe not today, but it is there!) :cool1:

Thank you for telling!!

We have family in Fairbanks and they LIVE on their AAVisa. They come home every summer and are able to do so with a huge savings due to their flight miles.

GOOD MORNING ALASKA!!

We have done this in the past. The rewards card looks like a credit card...just put those numbers in and exp. date. It can take up to 4 weeks to receive your card...so make sure to request in plenty of time.

I have a Chase checking acct and another Chase credit card. I tried to log in to view all my accounts (not through DRV site) and I got the same message. I'm assuming that it's not just because they are loading a DRV offer into their system.

I have a Toys R Us card which is also a Chase card, and last week I got all freaked out because it wouldn't let me log in to pay my bill. When I called they said it wasn't that the site was down, it was just too early. I think I remember them saying that the site opens around noon or something like that.

Hmmm. Mine is working fine. :confused3 No updates shown on the Disney Rewards site either. :sad1:
I'm driving my whole family crazy with this code watch!

Ok, I got into Chase. And I'm seeing no updates on their offers.

Sigh. Please Disney! Don't give us tricks today! Let's have treats!
