Jan 2009 Code Watch

Very interesting....not as good as the AP discount I have but strange that you found that out so quick! Good sleuthing!! :)

Just got off the phone with a CM. While I was talking to him a paper was put on his desk with this code:

DUY

According to cm, code starts today and is a general public room only discount code for dates:

Jan 4-15
Jan 25-Feb 12

20% off values
30% off mods

He was not able to apply it to my existing ressie since he said that the code is not loaded into the system yet but to try back later today.

Perhaps others could call and report back .:goodvibes

crossing fingers that this code can be applied to my ressie ...Anything is better then the rack I am paying..Plus I am not interested in ticket upgrades.

OK, so I just call back and spoke to anyother CM.

This CM tells me that DUY is not a code whatsoever.

So now I don't know what to say. Hopefully someone else will have better luck then me with using this code or maybe it will infact be loaded later today.

To be totally honest though, the original CM who gave me the code didn't seem too on the ball (seemed confused about the code and also read me back my email address AND confirmation # incorrectly). Here's hoping he gave me correct info. on the possible new code.

I see you are in Canada. This looks very similar to something that was posted before about the Canadian discount available. I am not sure that it applies to everyone, but I could be wrong.

hmmmm....so I guess we keep waiting and hoping for a good discount...

2 months and 27 days-----woooot wooot ;)

I asked the original CM this and was told that "it appears to be a general public discount code" He also told me that the paperwork was just put on his desk (while I was speaking to him) and that the booking window started October 30. Who knows though, he seemed confused about the entire issue and seemed to get in a bit of a flutter when he was not able to access the code whatsoever on his computer.

Also, I was not aware of a Canadian room only code. If anyone knows this code, perhaps they could post it? Thank you

I just tried the DUY code and the CM I spoke with had no idea about it. Perhaps it's not in the system yet and it will be coming out soon?

I don't know what Chase's financial situation is. There may not be any codes coming. And, of course, my dates are 1/18-1/25!

Just checking in -no visa codes yet? See you all back around Noon! This is so exciting. I am all atwitter!!!!

The CM I spoke to at 7 told me to call back around noon.

As of about 20 minutes ago, Florida rates for January - February are out. Perhaps that's what the CM was referring to. :confused3

I just called as well, and DUY is not a code in their system. The CM said no pins or codes with my name either. I mentioned due to the economy, I might have to cancel, hoping they would work some magic for me, but all the CM could do was offer another less expensive resort. Well, back to checking. Of course we arrive 1/22 so if DUY does eventually show up as a code, it will only apply to 2 nights of our trip, but I guess that is better than nuthing.:confused3 The CM also said they generally don't offer free dining at the beginning of the year. But, she could be wrong, right? Even my eyelashes are crossed!!!!!:rotfl:

Could be it. Although the CM I spoke to was aware I live in Canada AND he did check the code against my reservation.

It is posted somewhere in this thread, but I don't have the patience to look for it for you. ;)

I have a question. I currently have a package reservation that includes the family suites at ASMusic. If a room only code comes out today, my guess is that it will not be available on the suites. In which case, I would switch my ressie to two adjoining rooms. (here the part I'm confused about) But if a code later comes out for packages or dining, I can't apply both codes (correct?) so I will have "lost" the suites ressie. Should I make a room only ressie using a room only code and keep my package ressie?

Sorry that is confusing....I'm just confused. LOL:headache:

Thanks for posting this. I just called and added dining to my reservation. I had 2 codes from yesterday, but neither worked.

My cm looked it up and had a code that did work...so you don't need the code before you call - just ask the cm to look for it. My cm's name was Passion (no comment) and she was able to get the code very quickly.

She said she didn't know why dining couldn't be added yesterday, that they are always updating the system and sometimes there are glitches.

Also, those of you who said that ddp is the same for aps and the gen public are absolutely right. I guess I just got an awesome rate for my stay in Sept and thought it was the dining plan that was less.

Yay! I'm set for 1/21-1/25 at the CBR w/ ddp for $722.70. happy happy happy :yay:

So, you added the DP to an AP discount? How much was your original price?

It is possible that IF a code comes out you may be able to apply it to the family suites, just depends on how Disney determines how many rooms they will allow on the code (which means anyones' guess). I would not switch unless the offer is too good to pass up, since family suites are limited, and those are coveted rooms. You typically can not apply 2 codes to your room or package only one. Hope this was helpful
