I have a question. I currently have a package reservation that includes the family suites at ASMusic. If a room only code comes out today, my guess is that it will not be available on the suites. In which case, I would switch my ressie to two adjoining rooms. (here the part I'm confused about) But if a code later comes out for packages or dining, I can't apply both codes (correct?) so I will have "lost" the suites ressie. Should I make a room only ressie using a room only code and keep my package ressie?

I see you are in Canada. This looks very similar to something that was posted before about the Canadian discount available. I am not sure that it applies to everyone, but I could be wrong.

Also, I was not aware of a Canadian room only code. If anyone knows this code, perhaps they could post it? Thank you

No. There is no Canadian code. I was the one who posted from Canada earlier in the thread and I was talking about a PIN that I got sent through e-mail. So did quite a few other Canadians here. But this is exclusive to the person who receives it. Not only that but it's not the same as what the CM received on his desk this morning. It is 40% off a value, mod or deluxe for many dates throughout all of 2009.

Thank you for posting this. Guests making multiple reservations is one of my biggest pet peeves for the reason you just stated.

This is precisely the reason that WDW only lets you make a hold for 7 days instead of 14 for 2009. They are hoping people won't do this if they have less time to put a deposit down.

Thanks for the clarification- I just noticed that the dates were the same and the only reason I noticed is because our dates are not included.

If an AP-er adds the DDP to their reservation, do they also get an additional 20% off of that? I thought the 20% was off of meals they paid that were OOP for limited restaurants that give an AP discount? Can anyone clarify this? Thanks.

Yes, well, there was someone posting yesterday who has 3 reservations booked and said they will cancel the other two when they decide which is better. THEN advised someone else to do the same - and that person did it too. Maybe they are making them under separate names.

I believe you all are speaking about me. Not sure. I have ONE booked with TA and ONE booked directly. I make no apologies. When/if the codes come out though I WILL ask my TA to apply it and if she can, great. I want her to get the commission <sp> but if she can't and it's less expensive I am going with my direct reservation. If this was ONLY a direct reservation I'd only have have only one but since I went with TA first I want to be sure (hope) there is a room available with a discount that I can get. As soon as the rates come out (if they ever do) I'll make my choice immediately and release the extra (1) room.

I think you might be confusing different Disney dining programs

The Disney Dining Experience used to be known by the acronym DDE and is now called Tables in Wonderland. This is a membership 'club' that is only available to Annual Passholders or Florida Residents and costs about $60 annually. One of the most commonly-mentioned benefits is the 20% discount in many Disney dining venues - including most TS restaurants (both in-park and resort). The TiW member can also receive 20% off their food at the value resorts' food courts and the Port Orleans food courts.

The DDP (Disney Dining Experience) is a per-person dining plan that is only good for the length of your stay.

Annual Passholders do get small discounts on dining - like maybe 10% off at Epcot restaurants for weekday lunch and some shopping - I think 10% off at WoD (with some exclusions) + a few others.

My neighbor told me they wanted to go but the only way they could afford it was with free dining (they have six kids ). He said they applied for Disney Visa and were turned down for not having a credit history (they never had any credit cards).
I think they need to make it for general public because it seems Chase may be cutting back on Disney Visa cards. I can't blame them, though. It is our fault. Plus, I saw on the morning news that a bunch of credit card companies will be lowering credit limits and cancelling cards because of the economy.
It seems they were doing the same thing the mortgage companies were and they are supposedly the next crisis.
Well, I'm hoping for a public dining code here.

We don't even know if Disney Visa holders will get free dining! So no one can say what's "definitely" going to be. It could be Visa, it could be general, it could be not at all, so everyone just BREATHE! We'll know when we know - and yes, I'm obsessively code-watching too, but trying not to make predictions about what it will or will not be.

Yes, it actually was you and MAGGIED that have (or had) multiple reservations. Regardless of how or who you book them with, you are holding two rooms and MAGGIE was holding three. Now imagine if everyone did that - Disney would not offer any discount because they would show all rooms booked all the time.

My TA told me that the dining plan with the AP discount hasn't been released yet (at least she doesn't have information about it yet.. soo I'm not sure)

The 20% off meals is a completely different thing now called the Tables in Wonderland experience. If you buy the Dining Plan, then if you buy extra food (like an appetizer on the regular DP) then you can apply the 20% off, but you don't get 20% the DP just because your an AP holder.

I agree with someone else who said that they're cheating the TA out of the commission. I felt bad for my TA making my ADRs for me even though I wasn't doing the DP, so I guess I'm just weird...
When people double and triple book, they're filling rooms that they're technically not going to use. They determine what kind of discounts will be released by the number of available rooms they have in a resort, so if someone has three different reservations, especially at the same resort, then Disney could think the resort is filled and not offer availability at that resort, or lesser availability anyways. Then, when those people cancel their ressies, the rooms they had booked with discounts don't go back to the pool of available discounted rooms, they go back to the pool of rack rated rooms, so less people can take advantage of the deal.
At least that's what I've figured out from reading these boards...
