Jan 2009 Code Watch

You can add dining after on Nov. 7th, they just don't have the system set up yet to do it. I was assured that I keep the AP rates that I booked and then add the dining. At that point it becomes a package. They are also adding a new dining plan for counter service, but they said the savings are not as good with this plan. She did not have a price on the counter service plan yet.

The dining stuff...
Is this a discounted package plan with dining just for AP or is it free dining for AP? I'm lost. I don't have an AP and it didn't seem worth it to buy one for $500 to save $300 on the hotel- I'm still out $200. But if they are offering free dining then it might be worth it. Perhaps I should just relax and wait for the Visa codes and regular codes.:lmao:

Anyone with the AP code can you tell us if there were dates associated with it???

The dining plan is full price. It can be added to an AP room only reservation, this was not available before now. You use to have to buy a MYW park ticket to get the dining plan (as I understand it), now they are letting the AP holders have a dining plan along with their discounted room and then it becomes a package with the dining plan and AP discounted room rate.

Whew! Thanks for clearing that up for me! For second I thought there was some free dining involved and almost had a heart attack! That's a great deal for those of you with an AP!

The dates are 1/2-1/15 and 1/19-2/12. HTH

That is what I thought I'm going 1/15 thur 1/21 so I'm not sure if it would be worth it to make three different reservations to get the discount??? I would only get it for 4 days of my trip! And it sounds like Disney won't let you apply it to your dates it has to be the entire time??? (is this correct)

I'm now thinking the AAA code will be my best bet I just want to make sure that I won't have to make another reservation and that the AAA travel agent can just call and have the code applied to my current reservation.

We are going Jan 14-17 and got the Yacht Club for $268 including tax. :cool1: Didn't ask about Beach Club, all she could find at Boardwalk was a 2 bedroom suite for $1,000+. Decided we didn't need that one. . . .

So did they only apply the code to the dates you would be there?????

Hi! I just got off the phone with a CM again!

I was a little worried about my changes b/c he said I would have to make 2 separate ressies and there would be a possibility that I would have to change my room after the first night. Anyone know if this is a BIG possibility or not?

I also asked him about the dining plan. He said I could add it to my room ressies w/ NO problem for the normal Dining Plan cost but I would need to do it no less than 6 days before check-in. I would also have to pay the entire trip off at that point (my remaining balance and the cost of the dining plan) when I call to add the DP.

One thing he said was a little confusing: He said that if I add the dining plan then they would change my TWO ressies to ONE package and that having the two ressies to begin with would not affect my Dining Plan credits. So, will that solve the whole "changing rooms after the first night" scenario and will I be able to keep the AP rate for my other 3 nights??

Finally, here's what I booked:

Jan. 1- Pop Stnd room- 82.00 per night (rack rate)
Jan. 2-4- Pop Stnd room- $49.00 per night (AP Rate)

So my grand total for 4 nights was $258.34!! My original ressie for these 4 nights at the Pop Stnd room was $369.00 so I saved $110!! Not bad b/c that will pay for alot of our gas to get to WDW!! Woo hoo!!

He did say that if a better rate came out w/ Disney Visa or something like that then I could change it all again even with it being 2 ressies right now! So...I'm very happy w/ my rates for now.

However, if DVisa offered Free Dining, after crunching the numbers, I would only pay about $50.00 more for that package but would walk away w/ 3 1day base tix to use another time. Either way, I'm good!! :cool1:

Here's hoping for some great general codes for everyone and possibily FREE DINING for Visa holders!! We shall see.....

I have done this many times and they do try and link the 2 resv. at the resort but i would also bring it to there attention when checking in on the 1st.

Just an update for those who wanted AP rates + dining...

When I called it seemed that the disney agent actually had access to the codes for dining (both reg ddp and counter service ddp) but she couldn't find them in her system - probably because though the codes exist at this point they aren't loaded in the system or they aren't available yet.

In a day or two when I call back & apply the dining codes (just to add dining to the reservation, not free dining) I will post it here as soon as I have success. I wrote down the actual code names that are associated w/ dining just in case.

Here's what the passholder page says as far as dates & rates:

"See the dream rates if you book now:

Select Disney Value Resorts - Standard Room
$49 per night, plus tax*
Valid for stays most nights 1/2 - 1/15 and 1/19 - 2/12/09

Select Disney Moderate Resorts - Standard Room
$89 per night, plus tax*
Valid for stays most nights 1/4 - 1/17 and 1/21 - 2/12/09

Disney's Wilderness Lodge and Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge - Standard Room
$144 per night, plus tax*
Valid for stays most nights Sunday - Thursday 1/2 - 1/15 and 1/19 - 2/12/09

Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa - Studio
$179 per night, plus tax*
Valid for stays most nights 1/1 - 2/12/09"

Again, we can't post the actual AP codes here - it's against the rules. If you are already a passholder, go to the passholder website for the code, it's under Passholder Offers.
If you still want the code, I can probably send you an email or something.

Oh, and I booked the Caribbean Beach b/c I couldn't get the AP rates at the Coronado Springs, so some resorts don't have those rates available already.

A quick question about the AAA discount. So I can get the discount on my room rate (possibly 20%) by calling disney?

From what I've read, you can book a ROOM ONLY ressie w/ Disney using your AAA without any problems. BUT if you want a package (tixs, dining plan added to room ressie) then you have to book it thru AAA. HTH!

Anyone else shocked that Mousesavers doesn't have this on their website yet?? Or is that the norm??

Any idea when discounts for the general public will out? Not sure I want to get an AP for this year.

So I'm not AP so these codes don't apply, but am I getting this right...? The codes that you guys got today were room only?? (this stuff about dining has me confused) Say if I WAS AP, how would this work with my res.? We have 6 nights at POR with the DDP already booked...

Just trying to peice this all together so I can be as smart as ya'll. :)
