Jan 2007 codes?

I'm going to call my AAA agent monday morning to see if she will call disney and find out what exactly is this "media event", it must be BIG! You know just when you think you have disney fiqured out, the best place to stay, the best time to go, some big "media event" butts in and ruins your plans!!!

Not nice I tell you, not nice. :rotfl:

Quick question- I though the cheerleading competitions were usually over just a weekend? Are they there all week??
We hit one a couple years ago. I think they were there for 4-5 days...Friday through Monday or Tuesday. It didn't bother us but we weren't staying at the same resort. We sometimes saw groups of girls in the parks, but crowds were so low I really don't think they had any impact...as long as you didn't jump on line directly behind a group. :teeth: It would probably be teenage boys' heaven.

jcemom,

I see you are south of pittsburgh, so am I. We live in Fayette County.

We are also in Fayette County! We live between Smithfield and Fairchance!

I'm curious as to what media event might be taking place too. It could have something to do with the Million Dreams promo...night in Cinderella Castle starts in January I think. The Monsters Inc. attraction (Laugh Floor?) is slated to open in January as well, but would that warrant a big media event? :confused3

It's probaly to annouce what new they are going to be doing it might go along with the opening of the Laugh Floor. Like the media event they have when Everest opened last year.

Relax about the media day. It could be Johnny Depp Week at WDW, then all of you will be tripping over each other to get there.;)

We're in Uniontown!!!

Still trying to decide what to do about january visit. I'm trying to talk DH & DD into renting points for a studio but they are not going for it, it would be a lot cheaper. I'll call AAA tomorrow and see what they know.

Ok I called Disney to make a soecial room request, while I had her on the phone I asked her if their was any big media events scheduled for out stay Jan 27- Feb 3. She called guest services and they said their was nothing scheduled, and it would be in the system because it is already Oct! I know this Disney and everybody says something diffrent, but this made me feel much better!

We have AAA rate of $116 for POR Jan. 1-7. Does anyone think that this will be the best rate? Does anyone remeber what a moderate went for during that time with a general code discount?

We'll be at POR the following week with a AAA discounted rate of around $130, tax included. Just wondering if your rate of $116 inclues tax?

Not that you asked me :teeth: but our AAA rate at POFQ was $116 before tax and $130 after tax. I think its a standard 20% off rack rate for mods.

I just wanted to explain about the cheerleading event for Jan. It is for college cheer and dance and it is from Thursday Jan 11-Mon Jan 15 because my DD is going again this year but last year there were so many other things going on there. There were soccer teams and baseball teams and we stayed at the BCV and there was a huge convention going on because the hotels were crazy. The parks were not that bad if you used your fastpass and went in early. I don't think there are many slow dates any more for Disney just "slower" dates because there are so many events that go on all year thru that whenever you go there will be something going on. :cheer2:

I just read that the night in Cinderella Castle is to begin on January 25. I'll bet they have something to promote that. It's kind of a big deal, isn't it?

Subscribing....

We will be heading to the Poly from 25 Jan to 1 Feb with a AAA rate for Garden View. :cool1: We were originally scheduled to arrive Thanksgiving Day but decided the crowds would just be too much for my younger kids.

I am looking forward to being awarded that first night in Cinderella's castle :rotfl: All I hope for is small crowds, pleasant weather, patient children, and no snowstorms the moring we have to fly out of VA. I might as well ask for the moon! :wizard:

We are all booked for POLY jan 25-29 with AAA. They will honor any discount after this...

anyone have room request ideas? I would like balcony and one of the renovated rooms. what building woudl that be?

I was looking at park hours last night, and noticed that MK has evening EMH from 10-1am on Jan 14th. They must be expecting it to be pretty busy if they're staying open till 1!

I really hope AP rates come out soon! I'm going nutty!

Edit- D'oh! I keep forgetting that's MLK weekend! No wonder!

Also EMH always run for 3 hours after park closing. Last year they had the park close at midnight on Jan 1 so EMH went until 3am, and very few people were left in the park at midnight. Late night EMH are nice, becuase pople get tired and leave, and it being a busy weekend and day at the park help that a little as well.

It is also UCA College Cheer and Dance Competition Jan 11-Jan 15 because it is my DD 2nd year. Also last year there were other sporting events going on as well. It was a little crowded that weekend. Hoping after Jan 15 it clears out but it seems like this year there are a lot of people going in Jan. :cheer2:
