Hi everyone!! This was our first DCL cruise!! Let me tell you we were pretty excited to take this little trip. I never thought DH would let me do it!! We usually go to the big WDW over MLK jr. Holiday weekend. This year we (me) decided that we needed to do something different. Over the years it's been either we go to Disney as a family or DD and I go by ourselves. It's a quick 4 day trip.
DD (7) was soooo excited to find out she was going on the Mouse Ship! We left EARLY Thursday morning to catch our 7a flight to MCO. We had no problems and I managed to snooze on the plane!! We quickly grabbed our rental car and RAN to the port. DH tried to detour me with a quick lets go to the Space Center on our way there instead of after the cruise. I was tempted but I really wanted to get on the ship. Plus I knew I would see it after the cruise. After our hurry up and wait it seemed like a 45 min. wait was a FOREVER wait to board the ship. FINALLY they called our number 2!! In the time we had waited DD had already gotten autographs from Mickey and Minnie Mouse. I loved:lovestruc having our name announced as we walked onto the ship. That was really cool. I was very happy with the ship. I am amazed at how small the cruise ship elevators were compared to other cruise lines. I did have to remind myself that it was an "older" ship.
We loved the show Hercules! Pain and Panic were a riot. I've not laughed that hard in a LONG TIME! I honestly didn't think it would be that good since I don't care for Hercules. Was I wrong, it was the best show of the weekend.
We were upgraged (booked guaranteed inside) to an ocean view room. That was cool. I'm still trying to decide if I liked the split bathrooms. I think on a longer trip it would be a good thing but the "smallest" bathroom was a little tight. Our room was very clean and nice. The worst thing was we were right above one of the doors where they throw out the trash in port. Plus at Castaway Cay it was SOOO loud the morning we docked we couldn't sleep in. Yes I always new when we were docking because of the noise level too!
Nothing to exciting to report about our day in Naussau. We went to the beach and DD and DH made a sandcastle. The water was FREEZING. I couldn't bring myself to go in.
Castaway Cay was beautiful. I really enjoyed the private island. I had been on a cruise lines private island before and had high expectations. Disney delivered on the island. It was a wonderful day. The food was good and the weather was perfect!
We had beautiful weather the entire cruise. I will say that this was my 13th cruise. We had a really good time. Something that I really loved about the Disney Cruise experience (Besides the characters and such) was the free soda!! It was great not worrying about how much did I spend on soda today. Usually I'm the person w/ the 12 pack of Diet Coke walking on the ship.
Overall it was a great experience and DH said we would probably be able to go on another one sometime in the future. :)

Good to hear you had a good first Disney Cruise. I can't imagine only doing a 4 day cruise. We have done 2 cruises, 7 and 11 nighters, and it never seems like it's long enough. They really fly by. Hope you can try one of the longer cruises so you can imerse yourself in the magic longer.

Good report, thanks.

Glad you enjoyed your trip! We've done two 4-days on the Wonder and loved both. My extended family (sisters, etc) are going on another 4-day this summer but I'm already booked for a 7-day on the Magic in September. I'd love to go on both but the 4-day in the summer would cost me almost as much as the 7-day I booked (it was booked when pricing first came out)!

I also loved Hercules as I felt it had more humor! Unfortunately for those that enjoyed it, it's being retired (in April I believe) for a new show (about Toy Story) that will be exclusive to the Wonder.

I know the Wonder/Magic is smaller compared to the larger ships available today but you can't beat the old world atmosphere. I love that feeling!!!

The newer ships will be 50% bigger so it will be interesting to see if they can keep that atmosphere.

Since you just did the 3-day Wonder recently, do you have any daily navigators you can post or pm/e-mail me?
