we're trying for a last min. trip in jan., likely staying off site.

i'm looking at traveling from a wed-sun during any of the weeks in jan.

i know that there is the marathon on the 1st weekend & MLK on the 2nd weekend. Any major events going on during the last 2 weeks?

Also, how busy is marathon weekend? Thanks for any help.

We were there the first week of Jan this year and there were no crowds. So if the crowds drop off during Jan. then you should be fine! Also, check mousesavers to see when value season starts again, as you may be able to get a great rate on-site.

beyond the marathon and martin the luther day january is wide open.

anything between jan 21 and feb 11 should be ZERO crowds.

we are doing jan 21-28

great to know....i'm aiming for the last weekend at this point & may try to stay at POP w/ a AAA rate - we'll see.

Even w/ the marathon and MLK weekend the whole month is still pretty slow. So, you'll be safe pretty much anytime.
We are going 1/21-1/28. Just saved over $300 on my previoulsy booked airfare w/ Jetblue's current sale!! We thought we had a villa rented in Calabay Parc-- but there was a double booking and now we don't know where we are staying again. I've been working on a townhouse for a really great price in Terra Verde. I should know next week.
I have yet to make any ADR's, and need to get on that. Especially considering I booked the trip back before the 180 day policy was in effect and missed both the start of the 180 days and my original 90 day mark. I just haven't gotten around to it yet. We only want 2 meals and I don't think either will be an issue.
We're doing 3 days in the parks and then Seaworld and Daytona Speedway for the boy's too. I can't wait.

The 11-14 of Jan is the International Builders Show, which will add some crowds. Last year there were several Disney resorts that were Show hotels. It wasn't too bad, the evenings a little more crowded than day at the parks.
