OK, I'm in!!!

I just booked this cruise and my daughter will be turning 12 Sept 8th that year. So it will be her last week of being 11. She will be in the Edge and I will have her join the kids group.

We are planning on doing the dolphins in the Grand Cayman and she has no idea I booked concierge. It was really inexpensive (almost 1k cheaper than the Oct 11th cruise)

So excited about this :cool1:

I have taken 2 cruises so far. This will be my 6th cruise and Julianna's 4th. She was still a little nervous, but I think now she is really getting excited :)

Secret concierge....You two are going to have a great time!

I'll add you to the first post... as well as your daughter's birthday under Celebrations! I think my daughter, Sabrina, already welcomed Julianna on the KID ONLY thread.

Lise - Thanks on all accounts. :flower3:

I wonder what the port excursions are going to be for Jamaica. I've never been and I am so excited to check another country off my list of places to visit.:cool1:

We're excited for our first visit to Jamaica, too! I've been looking at excursions on other cruise lines top get a taste of the options DCL might offer. Maybe Dunn Falls or ride a bamboo raft ....combined with a beach. Definitely some local food and Jamaican Rum Punch :drinking1

What are you two looking at doing?

My problem is Cozumel has the better Dolphin excursions, but they are the only one so far that offers horseback riding. So we could do the dolphin excursion at Grand Cayman and then horseback riding in Cozumel. Juls loves parasailing, so we will do that in Castaway Cay. I doubt they have Zip lines in Jamaica, but she would love that as well. We are up for a jet boat ride, or bamboo raft or something fun there as well.

I'll have to find where to get our passport stamped. Good idea to try to find other cruise lines that go there. I never thought about doing that.

I'm not sure what we will do for food that day. I look like I should drink, but I never have. I know what I did sober  no alcohol needed.:lmao:

We did Dolphins on Sabrina's 5th Birthday (2005) in Cozumel at Dolphin Discovery Cozumel at Chankanaab National Park (Back then there was only one Dolphin destination... no Dolphinaris). We liked that we could stay and play on the little beach as long as we wanted before heading back to the ship.

How/where do you get a passport stamped... we've never tried on a cruise.

I can't wait to see what DCL will offer! On that "other" lines, I spotted horseback riding (including riding as the horse swims in the ocean), Dolphins and Ziplines. Chuck did parasailing at Catalina Island once. Sabrina hasn't tried it yet. Hey, that's another thing the girls can talk about on the KID ONLY thread!

In the Bahamas, I had to go around to the outside and find someone to stamp the passport. Luckily, I wasn't the only one trying to find it :) I'm not sure where in Jamaica, but I will ask.

If they offer zip lining, we will be all over that!! Julie is more adventurous than my other kids. She has already told me when she goes bungie jumping she will do a swan dive. LOL! It will be interesting to see if she actually does go bungie jumping, but that is her plan.

Julie and I went parasailing at the Contemporary resort last May. She loved it and wants to do it any chance she gets. At the contemporary, you don't have the option to be dunked in the water and at Castaway Cay, that is available. So it will be interesting to see what she chooses. I just hope it isn't raining so she is able to do it.

What are you thinking for excursions?

can't wait to get onboard. This time it will be hubby and I and our 3 youngest kids. 11,9,and 3yrs old at the time of the sailing. We are from NJ . hello everyone

Your son will be in the Edge with our kids :) I have a 9yo daughter and a 13yo son, but they aren't invited either. ;)

I take my kids on individual trips on even years, so this is the one Julianna picked. My 13yo is going on a 3 day cruise in Feb and then Spain in April and my 9yo is going on a cruise in Jan and Disneyland early Dec.

Even years, I get a lot of vacations :thumbsup2

:lmao::lmao:

2012 was fun because they all got surprise vacations :) Nico packed for Disney World and we got to the airport and he found out he was going to London. Julie thought we were going to Disney World, and I took her to Disneyland. Then she got a surprise puppy. They brought it to her at the airport and she had no clue. Finally, Sam asked to stay at Bay Lake Towers, so I took her there and we went to Disney for 5 nights. Then I told her we were driving to the airport and I drove to the cruise boat. The video turns, but it came out ok considering I was driving while videoing. :goodvibes

I use travelex for insurance. I need to get on that for this trip, but that is who I use for all my crazy traveling. Travelex is more expesive than the travel guard one post previously, but I think travelex has a better claims response. So I don't always go with the least expensive.
