Jamie's Journal (comments welcome please!)

Congrats on avoiding another lunch out and getting that walk in! There has to be something to get that scale moving again - maybe you have to start eating totally different foods to shake things up. The best thing is that you are not gaining, which is great! :cheer2:

I think there are annoying people no matter what job you have or where you are. It's up to all us "normal" people to put up with it and not let it get us down! :goodvibes

Sounds like you are doing good. Good job not going out to eat. That is so hard to turn down, and then to add in a walk. :thumbsup2 Keep it up
Erin

Good Friday Morning...Finally!!

I ran out of time yesterday and I didn't get to everyone's journal. Work got in the way...can you believe that :) I will try today as it looks like it could be somewhat slow!

Yesterday was a pretty good day. For some reason, I was not hungry for either my morning snack or my afternoon snack. I just could not bring myself to eat them! So I didn't. Believe it or not, I didn't overdo it at dinner either. Just one of those weird days I guess. I didn't want to eat dinner at all, but I had to. I had to work late, I had a meeting until 5:30 and I knew that it was going to take me forever to get home....and it did. I walked in the door shortly before 7pm. So I told DH that he could have the rest of the pizza and I would find something else. I wound up having a grilled cheese sandwich...it was good.

I don't really know what is going on, I know I am not pregnant, but I have been craving peanut butter like crazy. While I am eating something, I keep thinking that peanut butter would be good on this or that. It is weird, I have never been like before. Maybe just a phase...I know I am not pregnant..TOM just came and went. Who knows....hopefully it will go away soon!!!

Thursday
B @ 5:30 2 slices of toast with littler butter
S skipped
L @ 12:00 HC soup with 1 apple and some peanut butter
S skipped
D @ 7:00 1 grilled cheese sandwich
Water was good...100 oz.
I could not get my butt moving yesterday morning to work out, but I did go out for a walk at lunch. I made it in between rains! Does that make sense?
I am hoping to do that again today...if we don't go to lunch. Today was suppose to be Cheesecake Factory day and I don't know if we are going to go or not. My boss is waiting for his dryer to get fixed, he said that he was going to try and make it for lunch, but then the other supervisor had a death in the family and won't be here today either. I am thinking that we are going to reschedule it....So if we do, I am going to try and go for a walk at lunch. If not, that is okay too!

Well I am off to other journals. Thanks for stopping by....have a great Friday

Hi Jamie,
I am catching up on journals this evening. I am so glad that DH's back is feeling better. Back's are one of those things you just don't want to mess around with.

Great job getting your walks in at lunch time. You are so dedicated!

Thanks for stopping by my journal, Happy Cinco de Mayo and have a great weekend!

Hi Jamie,

I hope things are going well for you and DH. You're doing GREAT!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Have a wonderful Saturday!!
Shannon :wizard:

Hi Jamie,

I was reading a book and there was a section that talked about food cravings. The author said that when we crave certain foods, it's because the food contains a certain nutrient that our body needs or has a lack of... I'm not sure how accurate that information is, but it may help explain why you want peanut butter.

How is your DH's back? Did he go to the doctor and get it checked out?

Jamie... I just want to say thank you for the :sunny: , support, and encouragement that you spread throughout everyone's journals here on the WISH boards. :goodvibes You always have a kind and encouraging word for everyone. :goodvibes I appreciate you, Jamie! Thank you! :grouphug:

Have a great weekend! :sunny:

Good Monday morning everyone! Thanks for stopping by with great words of encouragement.

So the weekend was good...until we went to Walmart. Then it went down hill and fast. The weather was wonderful for the most part, and we were able to get out on the bikes and just ride. Then the wind and the clouds came in so we headed home. I DH was glad because I was dragging him all over looking at flowers and stuff to plant. He does not really care about that stuff

Now for the bad...I don't even want to post what I ate Sunday...I think it was pretty bad! Anyways, I knew that I needed to go to Walmart for milk and yogurt. I hadn't excepted to spend over $50.00! DH never goes with me to the store, I do all the shopping by my self. But this time he needed something too so we went together. Bad mistake. We get the things that we need, then he sees the ice cream, so of course we have to get ice cream and popcicles. Then we go to the cookie isle and of couse we need cookies. Not only that, but we get powered donuts and then some donut holes. I know that does not look all that bad right...well consider the damage one donut hole could do.....!!!! So we check out, $50.00 later and we are in the truck on our way to the gas station. We don't even pull out of Walmart parking lot and DH has the donut holes open! LOL I decided that I was going to have one. Just one. Nope....I don't know how many I ate, maybe 5....So we fill up the truck with fuel :sad2: and head home. Once we get home, I had more donut holes, and some powered donuts. Then to end my wonderful night of slurging, I had a cotton candy popcicle. Bad bad bad!!!!

Friday:
B @ 5:30 2 waffles with little butter and syrup
S skipped was not hungry again (I think I was saving myself for the Cheesecake Factory :) )
L @ 11:45 Cheesecake Factory chicken sandwich - YUM
S skipped
D @ 5:45 2 corn tacos with ff cheese

Saturday
B @ 9:00 Burger King - DH is addicited to BK!
S skipped - didn't feel all that well
L skipped still not feeling well
S skipped still ot feeling well - I think it was BK
D @ 6:00 1 1/2 BBQ hotdogs. After I ate this I was fine Who knows!

Sunday
B @ 6:00 2 scrambled eggs, 3 slices of bacon and two pieces of bread
S skipped
L/S @ 1:30 - 4:30 I didn't eat the whole time, just snacked - several donut holes, and a few powered donuts
D @ 6:15 1 1/2 hot dogs
S @ 7:00 1 cotton candy popcicle
The really bad thing, I wanted popcorn too. I didn't have any but OMG I wanted some

Water all three days was good...over 100 oz so that was good. I didn't work out too much over the weekend...I just didn't want to. I took the dogs for a 15 minute walk each day.

Ya know Tracy, I have heard that if the body is craving something, that means that there is something there that I need. It could be true....after I had some peanut butter I was okay!! Have not craved it again. The other thing that I heard, not sure if it is true or not, but they say that if you are craving something, do something else with your hands and that craving will go away in about 15-20 minutes. I don't think that this one works....I have tried it!!! At least it didnt' work too well with me!!!
I hope everyone had a great day! Thanks again for stopping by :)

Hi Jamie

Don't get too discouraged on the Walmart/donut hole incident...you did well for the other part of the weekend (glad to see you are feeling better, too) and you can now get yourself back on track this week!

Thanks for the support and keep up the good work! Have a great day!

Hey Jamie!

It sounds like there was something in the air this weekend...something that made us eat bad! :rotfl: But we're back on track, right? That's the important thing.

As far as the scale staying the same, I'd suggest maybe switching up your food choices a little. I know I stalled a little when I got into a rut or a routine with eating the same things all the time, even though they were healthy choices. Maybe instead of a sandwhich every day at lunch, have a salad with some chicken or turkey on it a few days a week...something like that.

Your water intake is awesome! I don't know how much you weigh, but try not to drink more than 1/2 your body weight in ounces. My nutritionist said that after you drink 1/2 your body weight in ounces, your body retains that extra water because it thinks you're storing it up for some reason. :confused3

Keep up the great work. 30 pounds is AWESOME!! And you'll see the scale moving in no time, I know it. :thumbsup2

Thanks again for your inspiration and encouragement on the other journals.

Hi Jamie,

Today is clean slate day! :Pinkbounc Don't worry too much about the weekend...... Today is a brand new day and I know you CAN do it! :cheer2:

Have a great Monday! :sunny:

:grouphug: Jamie, not to worry about the slip-up. You should definitely celebrate all the success you've already achieved and move past this one little weekend issue. You will be fine....just keep up the good work and don't give the Walmart thing another thought!!!! Have a great day today!!! :sunny:

Good Morning,

Thanks to everyone for stopping by and for the wonderful words of encouragement! They mean a ton!!!

I put Sunday behind me and I was off and running (not literally - I wish!) yesterday. I got up and worked out, that felt good and then my day started! I did really well yesterday, stayed away from the donuts and every other evil thing tht DH decided that we needed! I got out for my lunchtime walk...it was a little later than normal. Mother nature decided that I needed to go later yesterday! Then when I was almost back to work, it started to rain again. I was not going to run, so I just walked a tad faster and I made it before it really started to rain!

Monday:
B @ 5:30 1/2 cup cereal with 1/2 cup milk
S @ 8:45 1 Nature Valley granola bar
L @ 12:30 turkey and cheese sandwich with 1/2 serving of goldfish
S skipped, by the time I knew it, it was time to go and I didn't eat..opps. I was pretty busy!
D @ 5:30 1 grilled cheese sandwich and 1/2 serving of chicken soup
Water was good again....100 oz! Exercise was good 30 minutes on the elliptical and 15 minutes walking. Need to add that to the challange!

Kim - Thanks for the advice on the water. I will make sure that I am not drinking too much. That is the last thing I need is to retain that water!!! Thanks. I have thought about grilling up some chicken and making a salad...I just have one problem. I am not really much of a lettus person! I mean I can eat lettus when we go out, but if I do it at home, it just is not the same. I don't know what it is. But I think I will try that. Weather is notsuppose to be all that great tomorrow, so I won't be able to grill then....maybe I will do it on Thursday.....Thanks again!!!!

Thanks again for stopping by!Have a great day :)

Hi Jamie,
It looks like you did a great job moving past your Sunday incident. Powdered sugar donuts are another "can't have in the house" food for me. You have super willpower -- I know you can resist them!!

Have a great day!

I'm glad to see you have put the donut day behind you and have moved on! We all have those days. Maybe it's just what you needed to shock your body into dropping a couple pounds!

I am not a big lettuce fan either, have you tried some of the different "salad-in-a-bag" varieties? I prefer Romaine and even spinach is good. Experiment, I bet there is something you like!

As for the water intake, I think you are doing just fine. I personally do not agree with the 1/2 your body weight in ounces theory. That means I should only drink around 69oz per day, which is less than the widely accepted 10 glasses (80oz) per day. I'm not trying to negate what kimwim posted, just giving you my opinion... It's up to you to decide how much to drink - you know your body the best!

You are doing great and you will get back in the exercise groove soon. Excellent job getting those lunchtime walks in! :cheer2:

Hi, Jamie!
I am glad to see that you didn't let your donut splurge derail you. We are all human. Just move on past it and get back on track. You are doing so great with avoiding temptations at work and drinking your water.
Thanks again for all your support in my journal! I always look forward to seeing you there.

Glad the donuts are FAR FAR behind you, Jamie!

You've come so far and are doing great. We all have setbacks, it's part of the journey. Picking up and continuing on is the hard part.

Hope you have a great rest of the week!

Hi Jamie! I think Sunday's can be tougher than Saturdays sometimes-I don't know why. The important thing is putting it behind you which it seems like you have done. Good going! :thumbsup2 You are doing great. have a great Wednesday!

Shannon

Hi Jamie!

Thanks again for the link to that article! I really appreciate it! :goodvibes

You are doing a great job! Way to go resisting those donuts! Keep on keeping on, Jamie! :cheer2:

Have a wonderful Wednesday! :sunny:

Hi Jamie!

Way to rebound from the weekend with a great food/water day and 45 minutes of exercise!! Shows how dedicated you are....you should be proud of yourself for starting the week off so great!

have a good day!

Hello everyone!!! Whew what a day and it is only 12:00pm here!!! Thanks everyone for stopping by....it's great!!!

Yesterday was another good day. We still have the powered donuts, but I just said no when I got home! I really was not in the mood for them after work. Who know....but I don't care really!!!! LOL

Work ordered lunch again today....they do this for two days at month end. Just their way of thanking us for working so hard during close. Close around here is very busy....I have not seen anything quite like it before. My last job, close was busy, but here it is a different kind of busy. I know that sounds funny but people here seem to know what they are doing and there is no mad rush like before. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that people here know their head from a hole in the ground....it's mean, but its the truth. Anyway, lunch was good...we had salad, potatoes (YUM) and other little goodies. I had some salad and it was soooo good. I was thinking of going back for some more, but didn't. I have not had a potato in so long...we don't eat them at home anymore. Not really sure why, but we just don't. Tomorrow they are ordering sandwiches of some type. Not sure if I will eat any or not. We will see!!!

Tuesday:
B @ 5:15 1/2 cup cereal with 1/2 cup milk
S @ 8:45 1 apple
L @ 12:00 HC chicken breasts with mac and cheese- first time I had this one and it was okay....I would buy it again. The mac and cheese was a little bland, but what did I expect...it is suppose to be healthy!
S skipped - was not hungry..I don't know what is going on...I am just not hungry in the afternoons anymore.
D @ 6:30 2 slices of cheese pizza...yup you guessed it - two for Tuesday!!!!
Water was good...I think I am going to stick to the 100oz a day. I don't think that it all that bad!
I was able to get out yesterday and walk after lunch. That last 25 minutes! I didn't think that I was going to be able to because of the weather, but I made it just in time. Today though is another story. Our high yesterday was 69, I woke up to snow this morning. Can you believe that?! Not much at all, but it was there. It's chilly here, the wind is blowing so I am not going to walk today. I will tomorrow!

Tracy - you are very welcome for that link.

Have a great day everyone and thanks again for stopping by :)
