Jamie's Journal (comments welcome please!)

Hi Jamie!

I just started reading your journal. I didn't make it all the way through (man, it's LONG!) but I read the first 8 pages, and then the last few. You have done incredibly! Look how far you've come!

You are an inspiration with your workout schedule, and your eating plan. You go girl!!

I've seen you spread a lot of support through these journals, and I thank you for that! We need people like you that are willing support all of us!

Keep up the GREAT work!

Good Morning,

Well it was a pretty good weekend all the way around!!! The weather was not all that great...got a little bit of motorcycle riding in yesterday. Saturday it was rainy, windy and a little chilly. Yesterday it was nice in the morning, then it got rainy and windy towards dinner time....The weather did hold out long enough for us to BBQ though!!!

We had to take the motorcycles to the shops this weekend, it was time for the scheduled maintenance on them. I bought a new bike about two months ago and it needed the 600 mile maintenance. They change the oil, tighen all the bolts and screws. I know they do a ton more..it is a four hour job! We also had to take DH bike to the shop to get his 4000 mile maintenance. They do they same things, change the oil that kind of stuff. So it was nice that the weather wasn't not beautiful.....or I would have gone insane listening to DH complaining that he could not ride!!!!

I don't know Jack's parents at all...I wish that I did....but I don't. If I did I would go talk to them....but since I don't, I just deal with it. Since I have to water by roses each afternoon, I talk to Jack every day. He has stopped digging though....maybe he is growing out of that.....who knows. We also have a spot in the fence that he can look through and he can see me so that may be why he stopped digging. We chat through that hole!!! Thanks for the suggestion though. I have seen the neighbors to the right of Jack out there talking to him too....So he has some people that care about him!!!

Friday:
B @ 5:30 1/2 cup cereal with 1/2 cup milk
S @ 8:30 1/2 cup ff jello
L @ 11:45 turkey chilli
S @ 2:45 1 cup yogurt
D @ 6:00 Inlaws wanted to go out to discuss vacation....when we are talking Disney I will go anywhere :) Went to Village Inn and I got a chicken sandwich on sourdough bread, and I had a few french fries!! I so wanted a piece of pie, never would have gotten it though. I was trying to convince DH that the piece that I wanted was okay. It had whip cream, and strawberries....tryed telling him that I was getting my fruit intake with the strawberries and my dairy with the whip cream...didn't work too well!!! That's okay I didn't need it but it sure looked great!
Water was good again....100 oz

Saturday:
B @ 6:00 1 cheese omlete
S @ 9:00 1 has brown from McD. DH was hungry!
L skipped..I was not hungry for some reason.
S skipped - still not hungry
D @ 6:00 2 plain hot dogs....I was hungry!
Water was good though... 100 oz

Sunday:
B @ 8:00 2 waffles with little butter and syrup
L @ 12:00 Long John Silvers - 2 pieces of chicken
D @ 5:15 1 1/2 BBQ hot dogs!!! YUM :)
S @ 7:15 Root beer float :sad2: Not really sure what I was thinking, but it was good.
Water - great 120oz!

I have to run to the post office today at lunch so I won't be able to do my walk like I wanted too...maybe when I get home. Who knows though. I have a meeting until 4:30 so I probably won't get home until 6:00 or after...traffice is bad that time of night! So we will see.

Well I am off to journals.....

Thanks to everyone for your support and stopping by!!! I appreicate it tons...

Jamie -- I really agree with Kim on this -- You are amazing, kiddo, and so very generous in your support of everyone here. I really appreciate when you stop by my journal and share a little of your sunshine.

I thought of you this weekend, because it was so gorgeous and I was hoping it was a pretty weekend where you were and that you got out on your motorcycle to enjoy the sunshine. Sad to see that the weather wasn't that great for you, but it was the perfect time for the maintenance, right?

Have a wonderful day and keep up the great work! :grouphug:

I agree - you are the best cheerleader! :cheer2:

You did great with eating out. You always make healthy choices. Where were you when I was ordering that mongo sopapilla on Saturday night? Could you please send me a mini version of yourself to take with me when I eat out? I'll pay for postage!!! :teeth:

Hopefully the weather will get more consistent so you can ride more often! :sunny:

I agree with everyone - You are a wonderful cheerleader! :cheer2: I always appreciate your kind words of support in my journal. :) And you are my role model for resisting temptation! I wish I had just a sliver of your willpower! :woohoo:

You made great food choices and drank lotsa water. I saw you signed up for the May Exercise Challenge. You are doing great!

Hi Jamie!

Great job this weekend! You did great, even eating out! And can I say how wonderful you do with the water intake! Wow! I always say I'm going to do better with hydrating...but never seem to get in enough fluids. Way to go!!! :cheer2:

Jamie - I bet you are a highlight in Jack's day like you are to so many of us on these boards! You consistently do such a great job and should be very proud of yourself. I join the others in thanking you for your tremendous support for so many others. Keep up the great work!

Hi Jamie,
I just wanted to say thank you for the support on my starting up my weight loss journal. I have been scanning through yours (very long) But you have made such amazing progress, you should be so proud of yourself!!! :cheer2:
Keep up the great work!! And thanks again.
Erin

Wow, Jamie! You are SO AWESOME!!!

I've never been to PF Changs, but reading all about it makes me want to go.

Glad you got out on the cycles. DS16 sold his 250 this weekend, so now has just the 636. He keeps telling me that now there's enough room in the garage for a cycle for me. I'm not so sure!

Hope you have a great week!

Hi Jamie! :wave2: Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by my journal and welcome me and Ds. I have been reading yours and you are quite and inspiration to me. You are doing great. Water is a tough one for me and something that I am working on. Could you please explain how the monthly exercise challenge works?
Thanks,
Shannon

Good Morning,

First....Thank you all for your kind words.....I know how I have struggled with my weight and how I have tried and tried and nothing worked...until I came here. So I just want to help others the way that everyone here has helped me. Thanks again for the kind words, they mean a lot!!!

So yesterday was a really good day. I got home, made dinner, and then the munchies started. OMG I was watching Unwrapped, I love this show, and they were talking about all kinds of good sweet stuff. Then they started in on custard.....I so wanted ice cream. We don't have any more, thankfully, but it was bad. I told DH I was ready to go to Sonic and get a Sonic blast...I don't know. Then they had to talk about cotton candy, and frozen banana's....last night was just not a good night. I could have eaten everything that they showed last night!

We are going out to lunch again some time this week. This time it is to welcome me to the department. I was taken out on my first day by my boss, but he wanted to do it with the whole department. So we are going out again and they made me chose the restaurant...I chose the Cheesecake Factory! I LOVE that place. I get the same thing each time, chicken, and I have to eat the whole thing! I can't take it home, it just does not taste as good!! So that will be my splurge for the week.

Monday:
B @ 5:30 1/2 cup cereal with 1/2 cup milk
S @ 8:30 1/2 cup of ff cottage cheese
L @ 12:00 HC cheese pizza and 1 apple. I still don't like these pizza's, but I bought three of them and I don't want to throw them out. So I will eat them until they are gone!
S @ 3:00 1 cup yogurt
D @ 6:30 2 tacos with ff cheese.
Water 110 oz...I was really trying to get 120 but it just didn't work!
Exercise - elliptical for 30 minutes. I was going to go for a walk at lunch and well that didn't happen. Yesterday was pretty busy here!

DisnyMama - The exercise challange....you sign up for x amount of minutes for the month. I chose to work out for 1000 minutes. So daily or weekly, however you want to do it, you just add your totals to the time that you already have. So as of yesterday I had completed 30 minutes of my 1000. Today I am going to change it from 30 to 60 because I did 30 minutes this morning. Then you post your progress on the exercise challange thread and the person, this time it is Amy, that hosted the challange will update your totals. Does that make sense?

Julie...so glad that your son sold his 250....that is great! We too just sold DH R6 to someone...he likes the R1 so much better!!! I think you would really enjoy a bike...they are so much fun :)

Well I am off to journals. Thanks again everyone!!!! Have a great day :)

Hi Jamie!

You are doing a great job! Keep up the good work! :cheer2:

I love watching Unwrapped! Have you ever seen the WDW Unwrapped? That show makes my mouth water for Disney food. :teeth:

Have fun at the Cheesecake Factory! That is so nice of your boss to take everyone out to eat! :goodvibes

Have a great Tuesday! :sunny:

OMG, I can't believe you are going to Cheesecake Factory!!! :cloud9:  :lovestruc :bitelip: I am about to short out my keyboard from salivating!!!!!! Forget the chicken, get a Dulce de Leche cheesecake! Great, now I am going to obsess about my kryptonite - aka cheesecake - for the rest of the day...

You are off to a great start on the exercise challenge, way to go! :cheer2:

What a nice group of people you are working with now. Have a wonderful time at Cheesecake Factory and enjoy your splurge day! - YUM!

Good Morning,

Well yesterday started off good and then got worse as the day went on. I was getting ready to get my lunch when my boss asked me if I wanted to go to lunch...at first I turned him down and then he pushed, so I said okay...I told myself that I was going to be good and eat right ....yada yada yada....Well come to find out that it was not just me going. It was the other supervisor, the one I don't like, but will pretend to at work and then someone else. So it ended up being a "business lunch" (that's my story and I am sticken to it!) We went to Red Robin and I did really well ordering. I had a chicken sandwich, but then they add the yummy seasoned french fries. I thought I could have just one....Nope!!! I ate quite a few to be honest. So I didn't really do all that well eating out. But today is a new day and I am back on track...until Friday that is!!!!

DH did something to his back yesterday..he said that while he was at work, he and someone else were taking something (a big pc box maybe) to the trash and he turned his head and had a sharp pain go down his back. I knew he was hurting when he got home..I offered to take him to the doctor as it was still early and well typical man (no offense, just my experience) he didn't want to go. So we had dinner then he layed on the couch and fell asleep. Which was good...I was afraid that he would not be able to sleep. Haley has this thing, she loves her daddy and she likes to sleep on his side.....poor thing, she didn't understand that she could not sleep with daddy last night. She was pretty upset. She is such a daddy's girl! DH made it to bed, slept all night and woke up a little better. He said that it didn't hurt as much as last night but it still hurt. So we will wait and see what today brings.

Tuesday:
B @ 5:00 2 waffles with little butter and syrup
S @ 8:15 1 Nature Valley granola bar
L @ 11:30 chicken sandwich and fries... :sad2:
S skipped, was not hungry...probably all them fries
D @ 6:15 2 slices of cheese pizza...Dominios is still doing the 2 for Tuesday...DH loves that.
Water was good though... 120 oz!!!

Amy - you are too funny....I don't really like the cheesecake at Cheesecake Factory, but I get it for DH. Sometimes he likes it and sometimes he doesn't...and he is just like you....loves cheesecake!!! I love the spicey chicken sandwich at that place....YUM!!!!!!!

Thanks for stopping by everyone!!!! Have a great day :)

Oh, my ears are burning! :faint: I hate to say it, but your DH is just a "poser" when it comes to loving cheesecake... :teeth: The restaurant is not called Cheesecake Factory for nothing - all their cheesecake is to die for! My DD6 even has a stuffed Cheesecake Factory bear... :rolleyes2

I'm sorry to hear DH's back is hurting, that is no fun! And you didn't do that bad at lunch - a couple fries is way better than an unhealthy entree!

Keep it up, you are doing awesome! :cheer2:

Jamie - tell your DH to get it checked out. I did something to my back a few years ago...it hurt for three days and then went away...six months later I could barely walk and was eventually diagnosed with a bulging disc that was pressing on my sciatic nerve. I hate going to doctors but wished that I had gone sooner as I believe I could have prevented some of the pain with proper physical therapy and stretching. And cheesecake....mmmmm....love the Cheesecake Factory, they make my favorite, a white chocolate vanilla bean cheesecake (I even got tagged talking about it!)

Keep up the great work!

Hi Jamie!

Just wanted to pop in and say "Hi". And THANKS for spreading sunshine all around this forum! :sunny: :grouphug:

I love Red Robins....and those fries! Ugh....I'm a sucker for fries!!!! Eating one is not an option LOL!

You're doing great!!! And definitely tell your DH to get it checked out if it continues to hurt. He doesn't want to mess around with the back. It is probably a pulled muscle or something....but like Scott said....those disk issues can really be painful! Best of luck to him!!!

Hi Jamie, Just poppin in to say Hi! I remember what it was like to be married ---and to have a hubby that would not want to go to the doctor and would always wait till he was dying before he would finally, finally go to the doctor and then he would be out of work for a week. I remember those work lunches. Luckily we don't have them anymore-thank goodness. It is very difficult to not eat at those things. I remember when we used to go to monthly managers meetings for lunch at a local Italian restaurant and I tell ya, there was nothing safe on that menu but a small green salad with no dressing at all! I tried a few times to order food and kind of not eat, just move it around and take it home in a container and DS would have it for dinner. Regardless, you are doing really well so don't sweat it. Wow, 30 lbs. down. :woohoo: You go girl!!! Our meeting leader tonight was talking about things that sabotage us such as thoughts like "I've got so much weight to loose, it will take forever, I can't do this, blah, blah,...." and then she said on the flip side to look at it as "Hey, by the same time next year I will have lost so much weight and how I will look and feel". For me being such a huge Disneyland and WDW lover, what it means for me is that by the time Labor Day rolls around I will be able to fit through every turnstyle with no problem, ride every ride with DS and walk, walk, walk without exhaustion and pain. (speak of the devil a commercial just came on for Disneyland) must be some kind of message. Any way, I hope your DH feels better soon and you have a great day.

Shannon :wave2:

Good Morning All!!!

Thanks for stopping by....I love the support :)

So DH back was so much better yesterday...I could tell that he was a little sore, but nothing like it was on Monday. I am still trying to talk him in to going and seeing the doctor....I just wish that he would listen to me. But he says that he will be fine and he is not going. URG....I don't know what to do with him.

Yesterday was a pretty good day! I ate the way I was suppose too....I did miss my afternoon snack thouhg. I was in a meeting that lasted forever. It was only suppose to be 30 minutes and well it turned out that it was like 2 hours! Mostly becuase the other supervisor is a jack....add bad word here. Sorry...I just don't really care for her. She should not have been promoted, she has no clue. She is asked a question and she can't answer it so she goes off on something else. Then our boss has to tell her that we are not discussing that. I think he is realizing that she should not have been promoted either. She has only been in A/P since November 2005....Whatever. I don't want to think about it today!

Wednesday:
B @ 5:00 2 waffles with little butter and syrup
S @ 9:00 1/2 cup ff cottage cheese
L @ 11:45 turkey and cheese sandwich with 1/2 serving goldfish
S skipped
D @ 5:30 2 slices of left over pizza
Water was good again.. 100oz!
The girls here at work went out to eat again yesterday...they went to Maggino's..sorry don't know how to spell it. I was invited, but didn't really want to go. That place is too rich for me! So I ate my lunch here. Then I went for a walk! I made it before the weather turned icky!

DisnyMama - I can so relate to your gal at WW...I used to think that I had so much to lose that I was never going to lose it...that I was just born to be fat and there was nothing I could do about it. Wrong! I just wish that I could get that darn scale to move again!!! I got on today and there still isn't a movement...which is good, but I want to see it go down!

Have a great day everyone! :)
