Today is our 7 month mark and we just moved our March reservation to a Jambo value studio. We've stayed at studios at Kidani, Saratoga, VWL, and OKW. We are just 2 adults. Any tips that people would like to share? I'm not really worried about it. We just saved 12 points on a 4 night stay so I think the savings and experience will be worth it.

i'd plan to arrive relatively early to give yourself a better chance at a savanna view. no guarantees but that seems to be a factor...

We have arrived after 9PM and have gotten a savannah view value studio with no requests having been made.

At any rate, I agree that the values are a bargain that we have often gotten for weekend stays especially. Their points compaired to standard or savannah are real bargains!

The flight that we usually take gets us to The World around noon after our ME ride. Southwest doesn't have flights for our arrival day posted yet, but when I call in with them I'm thinking of asking for a second or third floor room. I believe that it's easier to see the animals from those floors just in case we do get a savannah view. If not, I've heard that the other views are pool views.

If you have a value at Jambo, you will be on the 5th floor.

We have stayed in the value studios a couple of times. It is just my DW and I and there is plenty of room for us.:thumbsup2

I think value studios are DVC's best kept secret. I love them, especially for the number of points. Just be aware that there's one value studio that doesn't have a freezer compartment. It wasn't a problem for me-there was an ice machine a few feet away. Engineering tried to switch the refrigerator out for the correct kind, but apparently whoever built the room goofed and the counter's just an inch or two too short.

We just booked a value 2-bedroom.

It was only 15 points more than a STANDARD 1-bedroom for the whole week!

We are looking forward to having the 3 kids in their own room
and still having the sitting area.

We are hoping even though the rooms are smaller it will be better than a one bedroom...:confused3

as the other poster said, all the value rooms are on the 5th floor at jambo house.

also, there are a couple of value rooms with a parking lot view - so it's not impossible to wind up with one of those.

but if it's only 2 people in the room - the lower pt prices make value rooms worth the risk...

I think that would be great, giving the kids their own room. Enjoy it! I'm planning a Gal's trip for September 2011, and will be booking a value 2 bedroom if there are 5 of us, but if there's 6, then I will do the standard 2 bedroom in Kidani.

All of the Value rooms are on the 5th floor of Jambo House. Value rooms face the Sunset Savanna, the pool area and the parking lot. Fortunately only two of the studios face the parking lot so the odds are in your favor to get either a view of the pool or Sunset Savanna. There is a great map here. The Value rooms are along the Giraffe and Ostrich trails.

Love having the sitting area and not having to make that dang sofa bed every day! :cloud9:

Thanks, LisaS! Also, thanks to all of the posters who informed me that all the values were on the 5th floor. I appreciate the information. I think this will work out just fine for us.
