Hi everyone! :wave2:

I am a newbie planning my first trip to WDW Sept 13-23. We are staying the first 5 days at Poly and the last 5 at AKL. I have become a complete DIS boards addict and cannot stop myself from checking many times a day. I have almost eveything planned but am looking at what I should be requesting for our rooms.
We have booked a Savannah View with DDP and the only requests I have so far are non-smoking. I also added in bunk beds for DS5 and DD3 but it is more important for me to find the best possible room and view for the level we are booked in at. I can't really tell from the map where that would be :confused3
I would love any advice for room requests (I've tried going through most of these pages and have seen the slideshows) but my husband is getting right crusty with all of the time I am spending on the boards. :surfweb: Doesn't he know that all of the hours agonizing and researching is going to pay off in the end???!!! :cool1:

The info is indeed on the allears site. Go to accomodations and there is a link for soaps for special children. However, in going to the link right now, it says that they are overstocked with the soap, but in need of small items like bubbles, crayons, and play-doh.

tiggrbaby-thanks for the info

VAGal-thanks for the kind offer but in light of the current need I think I'll take DD out to Target and get some bubbles and crayons, etc. (Any altruistic whim she gets I like to encourage :sunny: !

Hey, with all the play that zebra domes get (and rightly so :cloud9: ) what is/and or do they still have simba paw prints? (I noticed them listed on the Boma menu beneath the zebra domes...

Also, if anyone or their offspring have done the cookie decorating could you tell me a little more about it? (DD is a little bummed out that we aren't going to the Concourse Steak House, where they do have a paint your your cookie on the kid's dessert menu.) Doesn't AKL put out giraffe cookies? Do they give you frosting, etc....

Anyone leaving soon: Have a fabulous trip :wave2:. I wish I were going sooner. 6months seems like a very long time... :hourglass

It has been at 1pm at Boma everytime we stay there. Only 3 kids this time and last. :) Several types of sprinkles and icing and gummy bears. Here is DD's giraffe:

BBB - Wow! DNeph (8) will love that cookie project (he loves anything that has to do with any animal and/or Africa, which he just finished studying in school!!). Do you remember the times of any of the other kids activities? We are spending this coming weekend at AKL and doing the sunrise safari on Sun AM - trying to 'scale back' park time this trip as I suddenly find myself recuperating from an unexpected surgery - so I'm hoping to occupy him at the resort while I 'rest' in the lobby! Where do the kids meet up for the activities? and do they go alone with the CMs, or do the parents (or aunts ;) ) go along? TIA ! :smooth:

Hello everyone :wave2: I haven't been on for about a week, I need to look at my ticker :teeth:

Hi Everyone :wave2:

Have been back for about two weeks and I have been really lax about posting pictures for you all.

I want to thank you all for your advice. The Zebra Domes were fantastic. :thumbsup2

DH and I had a great time and the resort is BEAUTIFUL! DH has become a Deluxe convert though! :rolleyes1

9 more sleeps to go!

I'm totally digging the pictures. Keep 'em coming. I'm going to try to do a better job this time instead of lounging at the pool with my adult beverages. Man, I hope I get to see the Red River Hoggies. I've been trying to find them for over a year but just don't seem to be in the right place at the right time, KWIM. :wizard:

Okay - bubbles and play-doh. I can totally handle that. ::yes::

Anyone else going to be AKL on June 16th? I come in the evening of the 15th. Will I see someone from the wild bunch? :magnify:

To those of you that have just returned thank you for the great pictures, glad to hear you all had a wonderful time! To those leaving soon, I am jealous but I still wish you a magical trip pixiedust:

Thanks for the great pics, BibbidibobbidiBOO and Mickey Fanatic!
My niece and nephew are going to love the cookie decorating!
bjakmom, hope you get to have some fun while recuperating! Can't think of a better place to do it! I would love to hear about your trip when you get back as DNiece and Dnephew are also 8 and Dniece has decided that we should spend some more time at the resort and in the pool this trip. She tells me she has done the parks before and she has. Hopefully we will have a relaxing trip!

Bonnie, I am so excited for you. :yay: Are you all packed? What cabin type do you have? Have you gone on a cruise with Disney before?

Your topping you super vacation off with a before AND after Disney stay. :cool1: I hope you have the best trip ever. pirate: :boat: :sail:

This member of the Jumbo Wild Bunch will be staying home in June. But there is an extra seat at V&A chef's table with your name on it this November. :rolleyes1 .

I know - totally OT, but here we go: Cat 4 (tried with every ounce of strength but no suite opened up :guilty: ) I've NEVER cruised before - EVER. I'm a ball of excitement. :hyper: Ok - I can get a room with bunkbeds and you meet me down there. ;) Don't tempt me for your November trip. Your family will be totally shocked if I knocked on your door and asked which bed was mine. :rotfl:

:yay: :dance3: Are we there yet? :cool1: I'm ready to jet. :moped:

When I was there in May they were not out roaming one of the savannas, they were in a pen and we were told they were only there from 10am - 5pm. If they are still in the same place walk all the way to end of Kudu Trail hallway, go out the exit door and look over the railing and you should see the pen. I don't know when they were planning to put them out on a savanna and which one they will end up at. We were told in May that they weren't ready to be with the other animals yet. If you don't see them ask some of the CMs. You might need to ask several of them before you find the right answer. We would have never known about them if a CM had not told us, but other CMs we asked didn't seam to know anything about them. Hope you get to see them - they are adorable. :goodvibes

In Jan. my DS missed the cookie decorating, I hope we can do it this time, it looks cute!! He did get to do the Primal Parade from the Zawadi Marketplace, they do it each night, the kids pick musical instruments from the store, then they march around the lobby playing them....... he really enjoyed it, then at the end they get a certificate for participating. This next trip we are going to let him do the Adventure Camp, it's for kids 6-14, they get a private lodge tour, and special animal viewing, they get to paint a real ostrich egg, and they get lunch overlooking the savannah...... it sounds like fun!!! Someone had posted more info on it awhile back, I'll see if I can find it and post it. There is a lot for the kids to do, each day's activities are listed on the activities board near the check in desk. You guys are going to love it!!! We did, and we can hardly wait to get back......... yesterday we added 2 more nights onto our trip!!!! :cool1: I'll try to find the list of activities and post it........... if someone else has it beforehand, please post!!! Thanks!!

oops..... see next post........ what's up with this server too busy??? sheesh!!! it's posting everything twice.......... sorry!!!
