Just stopping by to say I just finished the thread. DH and I are getting away for my birthday in May(24th-29th). I think I have talked myself into staying at AKL...IF there is a good Fl. Res. rate. I'm hoping for a good rate for a savannah view, but if not then maybe we can afford a pool view. If we have to go pool view I am going to request, non-smoking zebra trail, and cross my fingers for a upgrade. DH and I have never stayed deluxe always mod. or value. It would be such a treat and we loved the resort from when we ate at Boma. Though we didn't too much care for Boma, I did LOVE my Victoria Falls Mist.

Hi! Can anyone suggest a good room area or floor (pool view) to request? We've stayed at AKL, but in Savannah view, so I'm lost about pool view. We'll just hope for some pixie dust at check in. Thanks!

This was the pool view we had from room 4428 Zebra Trail in Fall 04. The room was about 4-6 rooms down from the elevators/windows over looking the Arusha savannah.

DH and I always request Zebra trail and leave the rest up to the CM's and have never been disappointed. The advantage to the Zebra trail is that it is closest to the pool and restruants. We also perfer not to be on 3rd floor since that is the main floor for everybody going to the buses daily. Enjoy your first stay it is a great place.

...I agree! Fifth floor Zebra Trail is a nice location.......lucky YOU!

For being UN-offical there sure is alot of information here.

We have a 3 night/4 day trip planned for Memorial Day weekend. We are sending our son off for an international trip and treating our DD to a Happy "15" by staying at AKL with our DVC points. We too have requested Zebra Trail Savannah view. I look forward to seeing more pictures from rooms and listening to stories of those who travel before us.

Sorry but I didn't happen to take any pix of our dlx room...it had a queen bed, bunks, AND a couch that opened into a daybed. We didn't use the couch but the room was a bit larger than a standard sized room...
