AKL is my favorite resort- May '04 we stayed savannah view on Kudu Trail and I was hooked. This past October we stayed in a standard view room on Ostrich trail and we just decided to stay pool view for May '05.

Here's some pics from the standard view in October, which was much better than I was expecting:

And here's proof that you can still see animals from a standard view room!:

Just returned from AKL...All I can say is WOW! You folks were right, is really is a GREAT place!!! DD8 said the best part of our WDW vacation was...AKL! I'll be sure to post more info later this week, but for now I just wanted to thank everyone here for helping us have a great vacation!

Greetings all!

We got back on Sunday from our magical vacation! All I can say about AKL is WOW! Other than the fact that I had to sleep on the bottom bunk of the bunkbed the entire time--DD insisted--everything at the hotel was awesome!

Now, if I could figure out how to make the Pretoria Punch, I'd be on !

Just dawned on me to ask this question before I have my senior citizen mom sleeping on a "kiddie" sized bed...... are the bunkbeds "normal" twin size? or are they smaller somehow?

They are normal twinsize- an adult would be fine.

I promise...it's coming! Reality has slapped us in the face again - work, daily chores, etc. It's harsh.

Here's a tibbit though. We saw the Candlelight Processional at EPCOT with Phil Donahue. Guess where he was staying - yep, AKL!

When we stayed there back in February, the sportscasters from ESPN were staying at AKL, too, during ESPN Weekend..... (didja get to see him??)
