Great Pics! Does anyone know if there are any discounts allowed (AP, DDE or Vacation Club Members) towards any of AKL's special events or meals? We are really splurging this trip and immersing ourselves in AKL, so we are doing the Sunset Safari, the Lunch w/the Animal Trainers at Jiko's and the special wine pairing dinner that Jiko has the first Thursday of each month. Saving a little bit would be nice, but I understand that discounts don't apply to most special meals, etc. Thanks.

...although, you might wanna try calling AAA, or check with DVC, or even Disney Visa (couldn't hoit! ) Of course, MY philosophy is "Acuna matata..!", or "Play now, PAY later! "

I've never heard of it pronounced as "Con-see-ay..."


but here on the west coast and down at WDW, it's always been con-see-erge

Never heard that before either. It's pronounced con-see-erge in the South too.

A while back in the posts someone asked if you can get turn down service at AKL. Im not clear on what the answer was.

I will be in a regular room at AKL this time around (unfortunately not concierge), This will be my first time at a Deluxe Disney Resort.

I realize earlier someone said that you just need to call housekeeping to arrange for the service but I wanted to know if you need to be concierge or can this be arranged for "regular guests" also.

Hmmmm , good question - I would have to say Sunset Savannah, although I don't remember ever seeing wart hogs (they DEFINITELY are not on Arusha), but I will find out for you.....

....AKL DIRECTLY and ask to have your acct noted that you are requesting turn-down service. Remember to tip your CM's, though....
