Congratulations to you guys! He's adorable!

WOW! First, congratulations to your husband. :thumbsup2

so here's my questions:

1.How do we transfer our luggage from the CR ( standard garden room but hey! we are staying at a delux! ) to AKL with no car with three kids in tow-?
Have bell services transfer your luggage. Call them about 30-45 minutes before you're ready to leave the room @ CR. They'll come and get the luggage. It will show up later that day at AKL!

2. Are there different check-in procedures for Club level rooms?- do we go to the front desk, is there a cons. desk that we are to go to instead....
When you arrive at AKL, stop at the valet and let them know you've arrived! You will be escorted to the place where CL guests check-in. :cloud9: Let them know your luggage is being transferred from CR.

3. CRO said that we would have 2 queens, savannah view and club access, I thought these rooms were on the 5th and 6th floors- I am unsure of the construction, as I thought that I read that these floors were being made into Villas?
Your room will be on the 4th floor, Savanna view. If you don't hear from the IPO staff soon, send them an email and introduce yourselves. That staff is the BEST! :thumbsup2

4. Club edicate- I have never stayed on club level, I understand that there are different foods/snacks offered during the day- do you just go in and help yourself to a serving? My boys are in middle school so they know about only taking the food that they will eat- they are non stop food machines- always hungry now that they are older, I can't seem to feed them enough any more- are they allowed to take a plate or get seconds as long as they eat it all or should we just take a bit for a snack-
YES - 2nds (and 3rds!) are allowed. The CMs are pretty good about making sure the food and beverages are plentiful!

5. Does the club have bottled water for us to take to the parks? Is this frowned upon?
I don't think they have bottled water any longer.

6. Are we allowed to take food back to our rooms, can two of us go get breakfast for the family from the club room on our days off- we would like to leave the baby in the room with a parent and then, eat our breakfast on the balcony looking at the animals-?
Food has been allowed back to the rooms - don't think that's changed.

7. Is turn down service automatic or do we have to request this? and how much do we tip for this?
Turndown is automatic for CL guests. We tip $1/per person (but then there are only 3 of us!)

I hope you find that info useful! :goodvibes

Laura ~
The only change that I'd make to your answers is regarding the first question. Personally, I would call Bell Services THE NIGHT BEFORE you are leaving CR....this way, you'll be on the TOP of their list for the next day....also, be prepared not to receive your luggage in your room before 3PM, unless they are not too busy....pack a separate 'day bag' with all your essentials to take directly to the room yourself....

Good thinking, Kimmar! ;)

Just look at that ticker will ya? He he he......:cool1:

There has been a lot of activity on this thead since Tuesday and I had to read to catch up. I'm kinda jealous of those staying CL at AKL.....anyone ever asked for an upgrade to CL when you arrived?

Can't lurk any longer when there's a baby this cute to comment on! Congratulations Brookelizabeth! Get some sleep when you can -ok? ;)
And yes, these "baby" years go fast - I just put my youngest "baby" on the school bus for kindergarten last week, and his older brother is the "big kid" in first grade. Can anyone fill me in on the last five years - cuz I have no idea what happened! :sad2:

The last time we checked into the Lodge, I mentioned that the previous year we stayed on the CL and would it be possible to get an upgrade. After disappearing into the back room for a few minutes, the reply was: "For an extra $120 a day."

It won't hurt to ask when you arrive. Good Luck!

I just booked this morning! We'll be staying at AKL CL from Dec 9-14. I can't wait!

AWWWW ~~ What an Angel! Congrats to you both!!!! :cloud9:

It has been a VERY long road and sometimes he questioned if it was worth it having to take one class at a time. I insisted that he continue to take the classes when we could afford them. He really appreciates this degree, I think more then his industrial engineering degree because he had to work at it for so long! He's a 40 year old man now and he wasn't sure if he wanted to walk at graduation- I told him he better because I wanted to get pictures of him in his colors! and it's good for the boys to see that hard work does pay off!

Thank you so much for taking the time to help us out kimmar067 and RachelTori! We are very excited- it's going to be hard to keep it from the boys- they attend school until the Friday before Christmas.

I'll be all packed before they get out for the holidays :laundy: ! I guess we'll hide the suitcases in the attic- you know- get the presents down and swap them for the luggage popcorn:: .

We told the boys there will be a surprise trip some time before March 2008, to expect to be woken up early on some morning in the near future!- we plan to wake them up and yell surprise- little will they suspect what's really in store as they will be excited to have an All Stars vacation!

We have Grandma all lined up for the airport ride at 4am in the morning ( the boys have never flown and we are trying to set this up too for an extra surprise! ) , she wasn't too excited to have to drive us there in the cold dark ( it does get cold here in December and January ) but she is excited for the boys to get to fly.

We've decided to tell them that the rental car was't ready and we have to go to the airport rental station to pick it up and Grandma will drive us there so she can take our van home. We live 15 mins. from Atlanta Hartsfield Airport and always rent our vehicles from there- I can't wait!

Again thanks for the information- I'm a little sad about the water bottles as we drink lots of water and we were hoping that the bottled water would help us out in the parks! I guess we can't have everything!:upsidedow

Congrats to your husband! As for water bottles, no they don't have the small ones out anymore (they give some to you on check-out which is silly now if you fly since you can't take them through security....). They have large bottles out and I am sure it would be okay to fill your own reusable bottle with those.

CR - yes it is close to MK but you are better off walking there rather than taking the monorail (unless you want to do it for fun). By the time you walk to the monorail station, you could be already be back at your resort. Have fun and enjoy your trip!

Just had to cancel CL for 11/8 - 11/12 if anyone wants to snap it up.

We're leaving for our honeymoon in two hours!!!!! :cool1:

I'm so tired, but too excited to sleep. My wedding was wonderful, everything I dreamed it would be. I'm hoping Disney will be the same. I'll take lots of pictures and give updates on the construction.

...CONGRATULATIONS!! Have a wonderful time at AKL.....[and bring back plenty o' pix!]

We had the most amazing two weeks in the paradise that is AKL, and if anyone has not yet read my trippie, please give it a go, as there are lots of great pictures of this wonderful, wonderful place.

I dream that I will return here again one day soon.

That's an idea- do you mean they have like gallons or water dispensers? We buy those large $7 bottles from the parks when we need a refill- those would work for us! Two of us are diabetic and even with good sugar control, we get really thirsty in a kind of- "I'm going to die right now if I don't get something to drink right away", so we always keep water with us when touring the parks-

Last year we walked to CR because the baby was crying when we stopped walking, so we walked while we waited for the bus to Pop- no matter how we get to the CR it has to be better/quicker then waiting for several busses to cycle by to allow us to sit and ride to our old value resort-

I'm so excited that I could cry about the trip, but expecially about the flight and resort choices! :santa: :woohoo: :yay:
