I just noticed that you don't have too many posts (compared to most of the people in this thread). Maybe it's because we are so far away and all we can do is post...whereas you can just GO (lucky you!)

Hello to Oneonta, NY! Well, I don't post only because I feel guilty (not really) living here! I get to hear IllumiNations every night from my house starting at 9:09 PM every single night and think how lucky I am! I truly love getting over to AKL as much as I can. I have to admit, knowing the managers at Jiko and the bartenders at Victoria Falls doesn't stink!

Yes, having grown up in Boston, I AM LOVING THIS WEATHER! We've been over to the parks and can always tell the seasoned northerners--in shorts and teeshirts no matter what! Here I am in my fleece, etc!

My fiance flies down almost every weekend out of Buffalo! He owns insurance companies in and around Salamanca but lives here as much as he can. I am so lucky--I get to stay here!

Take heed, people who are coming down soon...it's supposed to warm up. But be prepared; one never knows what the Central Florida weather will bring for the next few months.

I got lost one day in Celebration coming out of Disney several years back (at the time I was living in South Florida). I vowed when I grew up that I would move here. I love it. Some say it's "creepy," because it's so perfect. It is a real place, with real people, just cool architecture, that's all. We moved here for the school, and thus far, we have not regretted it. The fact that we live 6 minutes from Disney property, well, okay, that was a very cool thing.

BensMom-how awesome that you live in Celebration... I've read several articles about it and I'm really into architecture and city/urban planning...I think it is phenomomenal-(I'd want to live there if I lived in Florida...and its proximity to WDW had absolutely nothing to do with my feelings...

...my DH and his bro' are up in Pittsfield (New Berlin) hunting - we have 51 acres there...however, we also have a small house in Schenevus (we have friends THERE, too!), right off Rt 7....we were there two weekends ago, and stopped (as usual) at Brooks for chicken, ribs, and their awesome hot wings...YUMMY!!!

Well DFi and I decided today that we will definitly stay at AKL next year for our Disneymoon!!! I think we might stay in a pool view though for something different and request a King size bed

I am very excited now to book and start planning some more.

DH and I make our ressies for a Savannah View room from Jan 31 to Feb 4 this Monday morning! I am soooo exited!

It will be our fifth year wedding anniversary and my DH's birthday! I keep daydreaming that upon check-in we'll get upgraded to the concierge level or a suite!

Okay, I didn't get over to AKL! My son dragged me (kicking and screaming, yeah, right) over to EPCOT so he could take the plastics tour. Yep, true story. Okay, he may talk us into bringing him to Simba's tomorrow night, in which case, we will just have to eat at Jiko (small violins, please) instead of Artist Point. Darn! If this happens, I promise, I will BRING THE CAMERA! It's gotta be up, don't y'all think?

Anyway, about Celebration, yes, it is a beautiful town, and it has a tremendous K-8 elementary school, which is why we moved here. Ain't the cheapest place to live, and it's had its share of growing pains, but it's pretty neat to live here. Nope, I never let its proximity to Disney sway me either!

Oh, oh, SDRINON! I have to tell you this...last year, for my birthday in November, my fiance booked us a room, (a surprise for me) at AKL. When we got there, he realized he did not specify a "nonsmoking" room. A big no-no for me! So, we got up to the room and, sure enough, the room was still smoking, literally So, we marched down to the check-in, and the castmember looks up and says, "I'm sorry, but we are out of rooms in that price category (gasp), so we will have to upgrade you to CONCIERGE."

So, it could happen to you!

I have noticed that, with this new campaign (Year of a Million Dreams), the castmembers have been given the big green light to do little "niceties" for the guests, which always used to be the norm at WDW, and they seem to be restoring that quality as of late. Anyone else notice this?

BensMom-If the decorations aren't all up today, somebody's been asleep at the wheel!

Do you prefer Jiko to Artist's Point? We've stayed at WL twice and still haven't gone. We're not making that mistake with Jiko...we'll be eating there in 22 days (I think) . And, next summer when 3 generations of Disney lovers pile in on WL, DW and I will escape to Artist's Point

How often do you get over to WDW during the holiday season? WHEREVER and WHENEVER you go, please take your camera and post...I want some Christmas 06 pics to get me worked into even more of a frenzy
