...hey, :confused3 at least you are less than one month away.... :woohoo:

Has anyone ever been at AKL while they are putting christmas decorations up? do you just go to bed and wake up to it all done? or is is a gradual process, I'd love to see them putting the tree in the lobby :)

...no, they make it a point to start at a VERY late time (about 2 or 3AM) and they have a crew that specifically decorates each resort lobby....so that the guests can see the lobby fully-decorated when they wake in the morning!

That is so cool. Do you know what day it goes up??? Hopefully when we are there. We made it just in time for MVMCP. This will be a first for us. We are so excited.

...I know that they begin decorating before Thanksgiving, but I'm not sure of the exact date..... :confused3

Thanks Kimmar. Hopefully it will be when we are there. I think that would be just fantastic to see.

BTW you said you love Le celllar are they better than Alfredos I have never eaten there and had one day we were unsure about. TIA.

....Alfredos vs Le Cellier - NO CONTEST!! Handsdown, Le Cellier is the WINNER! Alfredo's food is so-so, the tables are small and the dining area is cramped....the ambiance of Le Cellier is outstanding, the service and food EXCELLENT! (I feeled CHEATED if I go to WDW and don't get to eat at Le Cellier :guilty: !) Don't forget to try the Cheese soup! :thumbsup2

Im thinking about changing my dates from Aug 6 - 15, 2007 to Dec 3 - 12, 2007. Can anyone tell me how the AKL is during the 1st 2 weeks of december? Is it really busy? Possible to get a free upgrade? How does it look? Is it really pretty for xmas? I really wanted to stay at GF for xmas but that probably wont be happening unless I push my christmas trip back to 2009. What kind of activites do they have going for xmas at the lodge?

Hi everyone!
Thanks for making me feel welcome!! As to trying "a" zebra dome while I am at AKL- who says I'll only try 1???????????????? :rotfl:
Seriously, you seem like a fun group and thats one of the main reasons I wanted to switch resorts- you make it sound so incredible there!!
OK, back to reading the rest of thread...
Kristin

Lisa and Wendypooh and everyone else going in the next week have a great trip!

I have a brain cramp about who is signing up kids for Adventure camp at AKL. Just remember to bring an extra space because not only did they get an Ostrich egg but also a straw safari hat and a goodie bag. My niece and nephew (twins, 8 1/2yo)really enjoyed their time there. There were only six kids that day and they got lots of attention. My niece loved sitting on the verandah that was closed off especially for them and eating lunch in a rocking chair while watching the animals.

I hope you guys have a safe drive down :moped: to FL and have a wonderful stay. Maybe we will see ya around the lodge :goodvibes

Okay AKL aficionados here’s a question for ya-
Paul and I are doing the sunset safari and the included Jiko tasting dinner.
For anyone who has done this tasting dinner and also regular dinner at Jiko-
Are we missing out on anything by not also going to Jiko on another night
as well or will we get a fairly good idea of the Jiko experience from the tasting dinner?

I did PFTS last year and it was GREAT FUN!!! It's gotten a bit more expensive this year, but I'll bet it's still worth the $$$$.
You will sample so many wonderful foods, wines, and a beer or 2 from many different restaurants - some at WDW, many from restaurants around the country. My best "tip" to you is get in line early and when they open the doors and let everyone in, get a table (scout for a good location!) -- tables go quickly and once people get them, they're not willing to give them up! :rotfl2: 2
Can I ask you to elaborate on the PFTS seating issue.
I've been a bit concerned about it from reading about it
(what little I can find) on other posts. We are only 2 going to this event -
if we claim a table is it ours - or do we lose it if we both get up to get food?
