:grouphug: HELLO EVERYONE :grouphug:
I'm so over excited today :cheer2: , so i just had to come on this thread to say "HHHEEELLLPP" I'm going to burst soon. How does everyone cope with the wait and cope with the excitement? I have been to WDW 5 times before and each time I'm more excited (i thought id get less excited as i got older). I cant wait to get to AKL and smell it :rotfl2: I remember the feeling i got when i returned there last year - its like a peaceful feeling of home. I cant wait to find out where our rooms are (hopefully above the lobby) and to eat at Boma and to look in the shop again. :dumbo: :simba: :figment: :goofy: :tigger: :donald: :mickeyjum

So how were the other soups? Which ones did you try? The only I really have had is the carrot ginger and I loved it. I must do that culinary tour again with my DH. He hadn't done it yet. He did say when we go back he'll go to Jiko's with me. :cloud9: I've got my dancin' boots on now.

They were all very good.. I had the squash soup in Mara, and tried the carrot and the mulligatawney during the tour. I cannot remember the others, I believe there were 4 offered. I wish that I had made the time to tour prior to dinner at Boma because the meal would have been even better knowing what was in each of the offerings, but after the fact was nice too.

My family did not enjoy Boma, so I doubt that they would go to Jiko with me :sad1:.

Nancy - I'm sorry they didn't like Boma's. Jiko's a little different. They do have steak and mac-n-cheese on the menu and I know that's yummy. ::yes:: You can use that to swindle them into going. :teeth:

I keep calculating what my net worth would need to be to stay in the Royal Assante Suite for a year! LOL

Good luck with that! :rotfl2:

so is it possible to have Savannah view down near the pool with view of Arusha Rock? Most ppl say "get a view of Arusha Rock" - is that the main feeding area? more animals down near there? can you even see Arusha Rock from the pool?

I think most people say "get a view of Arusha Rock" because it is on the largest savannah. It is possible to get a room near the pool but that views Arush Rock. But you will not be able to see the pool from your room in a Savannah view room. The reason is that a wing of the building stands between the pool and the savannah. You will also not be able to see Arusha Rock from the pool for that same reason.

BUNKBEDS IN STANDARD ROOMS: I requested a non-smoking room with bunkbeds for my Standard room reservation. My confirmation letter shows I have a non-smoking room (guaranteed) and requested bunkbeds. But we're not going until Sept. 27th so I won't have an answer for ya'll until then!

ZEBRA DOME QUESTION: Do they serve zebra domes at Boma's during breakfast????

I wish! :teeth:

On the subject about savannah views. Arusha rock is the main area that I happen to enjoy. However, there are some that are pro-pod (the bump out areas near the end of the halls) areas. #1Hockeymom will tell you her favorite spot is the very end of the halls where the pod is on the Uzima savannah. Views are all subjective really. If you end up somewhere else you can always go see Arusha rock. :thumbsup2

Yep we are arriving on the 2nd ...sometime around 12:30pm-1:00pm at the lodge! That is so awesome you guys are staying an additional 3 days extra :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: I wish we were staying longer, but niether my mother or sister can.

The puppy has been so active and into everything!!! I think I forgot how much work they are. There has never been a dull moment with him yet and he is picking up on things very fast.

So it must be kizmet......... we are probably arriving right before you!!! DH is wanting to get there early....... but, I'm guessing 11 or Noon :confused3 We'll be in Daytona the day before, so it'll just depend on how "fast" we get ready to go!!! We decided to add the extra days since we've just been hanging around the house this summer, we really haven't gone anywhere.

I was wondering how the new puppy was getting along......... sounds like he's a lot of fun!!! I know when Gumbo was a puppy she was a little ball of fire!!! She can still get crazy, but for the most part she's calm, she loves to sleep on DS's lap........... anyway, back to AKL!!! I'm just counting down the days until I can get some REAL zebra domes!!! :thumbsup2

I am guessing the pic of the boma buffet is dinner buffet. The zebra domes have gotten my attention and I am going to HAVE to try them while we are there on our honeymoon. is doing breakfast and dinner at boma's to much, or do you guys have suggestions on which one is better. I will do both if they are both worth it but at least one for sure. I want those zebra domes lol. :bride:

Jambo ~~ Welcome!!!
Congrats on your wedding!! You'll love AKL for your "disneymoon"!! Yes, I think the pic you are referring too is dinner. If you can do Boma for both meals then do...... if not, then def. do dinner. Have you made your ADR's?? I'd do that as soon as possible. When is your trip?? Oh, and once you've had a zebra dome......... well, then you can join us for our ZDA meetings!!!

They are sooooo good!!! The mouse crunch is awesome too!!! and then there's the victoria falls mist, and the african stew......... now that is NOT to be missed and you can get it from Mara......... and the breads, and the other soups, oh, I could go on and on.................. :rolleyes1

I'm still working on catching up here and I have to say Bob thanks for the detailed segway review. I have it booked for our trip in September and I can hardly wait to do it.

Yes we really want to do the culinary tour. Do you know the days and time it is currently being offered? Mom and I get in at MCO around 11:30am and my sister is not in until 2:50pm.

No, I really don't have any idea. I'm just going to check the activities board when we get there, or ask!!

I thought that they would really like it, but......:confused3 Now I am going to get them into Jiko's, but probably not in January. I'll rope 'em in when their gaurd is down. My family keeps telling me that it is not all about the food, but you can't prove it by me and my obsessing over the restaurants I want to try. I need to plan more trips to get to all of them ;).

Thank you for the congrats. We are coming in feb, and we are going to do dinner at least, but I am pretty darn sure we are doing breakfast also. I have not done adr's yet I am a few days out from being able to start, and I am waiting to jump jump on it. We arrive at MCO at 6:37 am and I heard the ME takes 1 hour from there to our hotel. If by the graces of heaven I can check in I am going to. We have yet to decide whether or not to have breakfast at bome when we get there, or just go straight to the park and have dinner at bome that evening. oh the choices.

I have seatings for breakfast & dinner at Boma our last day there. I am hoping to just kick back at the resort all day :sunny: I have tried the dinner, looking forward to the breakfast
