Heatherlynn-welcome!

DH and I honeymooned at the AKL and it was amazing. I know your honeymoon re-take will be incredible!

And I agree with everyone, the picture in your siggy is beautiful!

Brookelizabeth - I read your trip report and it sounds like you had a wonderful "Disneymoon"! I was considering switching to savannah view ($$$) :sad2: but your pictures from your room were so beautiful, I'm excited for pool view now. Heck, this is my first time having a "view" at all in a hotel - and a balcony! :cool1:

Trying to find an answer to this question, tried searching but no luck.

I booked the AKL Savanna view room with bunk beds. Now I saw a post on here that said you requested bunk beds and it wasn't guaranteed. The post was made over a year ago so I'm thinking it has changed. Since I actually paid extra for this I am hoping it is not just a request... Anyone on here know for sure?

Also are the bunk bed rooms spread around the lodge or are they in one area. Just wonder before I put a request in for location... Zebra trail seems to be a good one :)

Thanks!

I asked this question too a few hundred :) pages back. Apparently they started charging extra for the bunk bed rooms a few months ago - they became a separate room category so they are guaranteed.

thank you all for being so kind! I am so excited about trying AKL. some of you mentioned my pic in my siggy.. there is also a link in there to my professional wedding pics. check them out if you want to see a real new Orleans wedding!:bride:

Heatherlynn444 - I read your trip report last night. I am so sorry your poor DH got sick! Despite that, it sounded like a really nice trip and wow, that room! To wake up and see the castle every morning...:cloud9: . I'm glad you'll have a chance to do another trip this year!

Not to start any controversy...I have a mug question.....

Can I use the mugs I bought on board the Disney Wonder??? :lmao: LOL Seriously, does AKL have the skinny mugs(the ones that fit in a car cup holder) or just the fat ones???
Thanks---Denise

...they MAY have the 'skinny' ones, but when we were there back in August 2006, only the 'fat' ones were available....

Hey, MOM2AREDHEAD: Got any melanacortin 1?

Everyone, thanks for the clarification on that!

Now as soon as Disney sends out their EMH for September I can start the next phase of planning! :) :cool1:

Can't wait to see the view... I am the early riser of the family so it will be sooo nice to step out on the balcony and see the animals. Kinda like my own Sunrise Earth (Discovery channel HD).:)

Yikes, don't tell my DH! :scared1:

...don't worry, it's not a painful as you think....MY DH never wanted to pay the 'big bucks' for a dlx, but after staying at one [WL], he got hooked....now, after having stayed at WL AND AKL, he doesn't think it's worth it to stay anywhere else....

Welcome to the DIS and a special 'JAMBO!' welcome to this thread....the views, in MY opinion, are something you NEVER get tired of.....

Hello everyone!

We will be heading back to Disney in February of next year for a surprise trip. Our neighbors will be coming with us this time. We have never stayed at the AKL before, but we have always said we would love to come here.

My questions is this. My neighbors have 3 boys between the ages of 2 and 5. Will they have to be upgraded to a suite, or will they be allowed to have a cot brought into the room for one of the boys?

Thanks in advance!

We will have our 3 kiddos with us and we were offered a pack in play for the youngest. We have booked a unkbed for the older 2.

Good boy! :cheer2:

I have a question about transporation times. How long does it take to get to Epcot and MK from AKL? Also, if I have an ADR at CP for 8:05am what time should I get to the bus to catch the character breakfast bus and does it show on the bus where its going to or do I need to ask the driver or would it be easier to have a 8:40am ADR and just take the 1st MK bus since they start running 1 hr prior to opening?

My Sunrise sunfari photos were processed today. I took them with a one shot camera so i will need to get a scanner soon to scan them in. They are great though!:goodvibes
