I short to "get" Crocs - I think you need to get some Crocs.

I have to agree with that completely! It took me to jump on the band wagon because they are so very ugly lol. DD had been wanting some and I found a deal on the caymans so I bought 3 pair. They are awesome feel like walking on pillows. I am a no shoes kinda gal and I would rather wear crocs than go barefoot. Just be sure and when you do buy a pair buy crocs not some other brand. There really is a difference.

The Mickey heads ARE cute! So do you wear socks with the Crocs? Or are they more of a summer sandal-y kinda thing?

A lot of people wear thick fuzzy socks with them around here. But you can wear them by themselves or with regular socks as well.

It's hard to explain.
And I'll be the first to admit - they're not the most aesthetic foot wear.
But I find them verry comfortable -
Especialy after a whole day in the parks at WDW.

Well, maybe I'll try them this summer. They don't look like much of a winter shoe! Hi Wallyb from Boston - waving at you from Marlborough :wave2: ! How do you like this cooooooold weather we're having?

I'm freezing my zebra domes off!;)

If anyone has any tips for transport to Artists Point and California Grill from AKL i would be most grateful.

The best and quickest way to get the Contemporary and Wilderness Lodge from the AKL is by taxi.

If you rather use Disney transportation (at least one hour traveling time):

Take the bus from the AKL to the Magic Kingdom and then the Monorail to the Contemporary.

Take the bus from the AKL to the Magic Kingdom and then the boat to the Wilderness Lodge.

My DD and I will be wearing our crocs with sox in 11 short days on our flight down to Mexico and then, hopefully without the sox, on our WDW trip in June.

This is how DH and I went-it took about 45 minutes.

As far as food at Artist's Point, this place was my FAVORITE-I still dream of the "Coffee 2 Ways" dessert. If I remember correctly, Vanilla Bean Creme Brulle and Mochachinno Bread Pudding.

Drooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool... (but if you don't like coffee, then this probably wouldn't be so enticing!) DH had the flourless chocolate cake-also amazing!

I had the duck as an appetizer, DH had the venision rolls-both EXCELLENT. I cannot remember what our main dish was right off hand-I just remember it was good!

I don't get the whole Crocs thing either... I love my Keens! (though, it took me a while to get used to the look of these too)

for all of the excitement this thread helped me build before our trip! A few days before our trip, I wrote on this thread about how my DD4 was telling anyone who would listen that we were staying at AKL, and let me tell you firsthand, she was NOT disappointed.

First of all, when we arrived, we had been upgraded from standard to savannah view with bunks. You have to know that DD has wanted bunk beds since she got out of the crib, so she not only got to see her fav animals everyday, but she could do it from a top bunk!

Our whole family (DH, DD4, DS2 and myself) loved everything about the AKL. The bead programs for kids were super, my kids earned 3 beads while there. We thought the selection of food was great at the Mara and we ate at Boma, but after I took the culinary tour, I wished we had eaten at Jiko instead.

Every cast member we had contact with at AKL was friendly and helpful. Our only (very, very minor) disappointment was that we didn't see any towel animals.

AKL will most certainly be our first choice for accomodations for any future trips to WDW. The only thing I will do differently is book a savannah view with bunks, because I would not be willing to take a chance on an upgrade again.

Sorry for the long post, but wanted you all to know that AKL has 4 new fans!

Jennifer

Glad you enjoyed your trip to AKL and that your DD got to stay in bunk beds and you got upgraded. Can't wait to see your pictures!!!

now I learned how! Here goes:

A kind CM took our family pic before we boarded the the ME bus to fly home.

Great pictures!!! Your kids are adorable!

Ok what are Zebra Domes?

Easiest way to describe them is ( as you've seen in the pics ) that they look like chocolates you'd get in a box, but instead of jelly or whatever, the texture and taste is similar to chocolate pudding. That's how i'd describe it. I got a box of ZD's and they were great....very rich. I think i'm still working off those ZD's from August 06. LOL :yay:

I didn't eat at Jiko or Boma either, but may try it just to say we did; plus the lines were long since we didn't include either restaurant in our ADR's.
