We are staying at Kidani this Fall. Have Kidani booked as well for next spring. Given the room refurbs taking place at Kidani, thinking about switching to Jambo in spring as its still available. I currently have savannah view booked though and have read about the savannah view not being as good in Jambo? Is this true? Should i move to standard view at Jambo then, or even just stay put at Kidani in savannah. Unfortunately if i wait until after our fall trip (to see how disruptive the refurbs really are), Jambo will likely not be available anymore for spring, so need to make a decision now. Thanks!

The Jambo savanna view rooms are all on the 5th floor vs the potentially lower floors 2-5 of Kidani. Lower is a bit closer to the animals so most consider it a bit "better"

To me it would more depend on unit size. Not only does Jambo 1br only have 1 bathroom, (not a huge deal for a couple) it's not attached to the master bedroom and the shower is a big step into the Jacuzzi tub.

If you have a studio, I think it would be a great time to try Jambo.

Also, the 1 bedroom & larger units in Kidani Village are at least 100 sq feet larger than those in Jambo House.

The soft goods refurbs are not disruptive IMO. Personally I wouldn't worry about it at all. It's painting, changing curtains etc. Not hammering out tile or things like that.

We have had both Arusha savanna view and Sunset savanna view at Jambo. Both were very good. We actually consider Arusha somewhat better than Kidani Sunset savanna view and Jambo Sunset savanna view to be about the same as Kidani.

Nevertheless, I would not make the move just because of the refurb. Those soft good refurbs are done in stages and, most often, you hardly even notice one is going on when you are there. However, if you have a studio reserved, rather than a 1BR or 2BR, I would make the move; the Jambo studios are abouit the same size as Kidani and the shower/tub is in the same room as the toilet while the Kidani shower/tub is in the open next to the sink.

Jambo's advantages include the three restaurants (a table service, a buffet, and a counter service to Kidani's one table service restaurant), much larger lobby and store, larger pool with more places than Kidani to find shade, and though you can have a long walk from room to lobby at Jambo, you do not have the risk of ending up in another county like at Kidani. Kidani's advantages are the much better and larger 1BRs and 2BRs with the extra bathrooms, the much longer slide at the pool, the elaborate water play area near the pool, the first bus stop going and coming from the parks, and the under-building parking which, coupled with three elevator areas on each of the two wings, allows you to park near your room if you have a car no matter where your room is.
