I was able to book a 2 bedroom value villa at Jambo house for a week in Oct. I know they are smaller than other 2 bedrooms (shorter by 3-5 feet), and they are lockoffs. I was wondering though, do they have the same balconies as the other 2 bedrooms? Also do they have two regular bathrooms or is the master bath have the separate tub and big shower? We booked it as we love AKL, but we are debating booking a 1 bedroom at BCV at the 7 month window. It will be DH, myself, and our two kids. Anyone stayed in both? thoughts? I know the two bedroom would be more space, but we were looking at the pool at BCV.

Values are smaller than other rooms but 2BR still easily capable of doing 4 comfortably, e.g., you get a king in the master bedroom, and a queen and pull out couch double in the studio, and a pull out queen in the living room. There is a master bath in the 1BR and a second bath in the studio. The master bath has a combined tub and shower (which is true of all master baths in all 1BRs at Jambo; Kidani has separate shower and tub). You have decent balconies similar to the non-value rooms; views can be of savanna, pool, or front area and you cannot request view, it is luck of the draw. All values are fairly close to lobby area and thus you avoid any long walks to amenities that you can get with other rooms. I have been in but not stayed in a 1BR at BCV. Space-wise for four I would actually prefer the value 2BR to the BCV 1BR

Thanks! So the master bath is a regular tub/shower that is found in the studios? We stayed in a value studio once for a night before a cruise, and it was nice. I like how the values are close to the lobby. We love Kidani, but we have gotten rooms WAY down the hall.

I love value studios, but the thing I don't like about the value 1BRs and 2BRs is the fact that the master bath can be accessed only through the hallway. It does not connect to the master bedroom. That's what keeps me from loving them.

ETA--Actually, I think all Jambo 1BRs and 2BRs do this, now that I think about it.

It is a combined tub/shower but it's a Jacuzzi tub in the master, not a standard tub like is in the studio. It's actually a little more difficult to step in and out of because it has higher walls. That's the way it is in all Jambo 1BR's unless it's an HA with a roll-in shower.

FYI - the values lose their square footage because they are approx 3 feet less deep - the width is the same as any other Jambo villa and that means the balconies are the same size.

No, the shower and bath combo is not the same as in studios. The tub is a jacuzzi. One problem that I have is the tub has a very wide lip. I sit on it and swing myself around to get in the tub.

Just had a value 2 bedroom in September for 5 adults, 5 nights, it was great!

The balconies are the same width as the balconies on the non-Value rooms in Jambo House but they are not as deep.

I don't quite understand how a Master Bath can be accessed by the hall, not the MB. Or is it like at HHI? There the Master Bathroom can be accessed by the hallway as well as the Master Bedroom. We were considering reserving a value 1 BR, but now I'm not so sure.

That is correct. All 1BRs at Jambo -- value, standard view, savanna view, and club level -- have a hallway between the bedroom and bathroom that can be seen from the living room All also have the combined jacuzzi tub and shower arrangement. I consider that tub arrangement the worst thing about the Jambo 1BRs. That tub has a very high and wide step-over to get into the tub to take a shower and some need to sit on the ledge first and swing their legs over to get into the tub.

There is a hallway that comes out right where the kitchen/living area split. At the end of the hallway is the laundry. Then there is a door to the master bedroom and across the hall is the bathroom (only one in the 1BR). If photobucket seems to be down or I'd post my pictures of this that might show it a bit better, but here are some from allears.net.

The doorway you see towards the left side of the picture, before the kitchen, is the hallway back to the master bedroom, laundry and the bathroom.

When you walk down the hallway you see this at the end:

In the picture you can see the threshold of a doorway to the left - that is the bathroom. Directly across from that is the doorway to the masterbedroom.

It's actually a layout I like - Not a bazillion doors like most of the 2042 resorts but gives good access for living room dwellers and it's right there for the master bedroom.

Here is a floor plan of the Jambo House 2BR from David's site. It's not a Value room so the furniture in the living area and the master bedroom and the living/sleeping area of the studio is more spread out than it would be in a Value 2BR. There are also a few items (such as the storage bench in the studio portion and possibly the chair in the master bedroom) that aren't in the Value room because there isn't enough space for it and it shows the sleeper chair which you only get in the non-Value 1BRs. (I think you do get a chair in the living area, it's just not a sleeper chair.) But it does show the hallway that separates the master bedroom from the master bathroom. Also, in some rooms the connecting door between the 1BR's living area and the studio is directly across from that hallway rather than in the entryway. That means that anyone moving between the master bathroom and the master bedroom is visible from the studio if the connecting door is open.

Hey, Simba's Mom. Nope, it's not like HHI at all. LisaS's map shows it perfectly. We have stayed in a value 2BR before and loved the savings, but I highly disliked the master bath setup. And since that is how it is in all Jambo 1BRs or 2BRs, not just the values, we have decided that if we ever get anything larger than a studio, we will fork out the additional points for a standard. That way we will have an extra bathroom as well. I do love Jambo so much more than Kidani though. So that says a lot about that stupid master bath!

Isn't this sort of a non-issue anyways? Isn't it next to impossible to get BCV at 7 months during food and wine?

Odds are usually against getting BCV but seeking 1BR, rather than other sizes, in early Oct, and willingness to do waitlist if needed can potentially lead to success.

We were able to get a 1 bedroom at BCV last year at the 7 month mark for a week. We figured we have this and if we decide not to get one (or can't), then we still have a reservation where we want to stay.
