I'm sure that's the case, but if that's their objective, they should be asking the renter for that information up front. In my case, they tried to claim it wasn't possible to put requests in with DVC. Having been owners previously, we knew that was BS, which is why we argued. Had I known I wanted to put in a request at the 11 month mark, I would have. I didn't. Medical condition changed. Life happens. It's their policy and that's fine, but people need to know. Because of this, I just choose to rent elsewhere where flexibility in matters like this are not dismissed out of hand.I would ask when you book the rental, so that the service can communicate your request to the owner when they communicate the rest of your booking information and the owner can take care of everything at the same time. They want to minimize the number of times they have to contact the owner.
