Resort Thread Jambo! Disney's ANIMAL KINGDOM LODGE

....I remember asking a CM at BTMRR many years ago if I could sit near the front so that it wouldn’t be as rough on my back, and she told me, in a very nasty tone, “well, maybe you shouldn’t ride at all!” I was shocked!...
OMG! The CM actually SAID that??!?!?

Is there a place to go for a run around AKL? (Not on the savannah, obviously.) Thank you!
AKL is our favorite resort at Disney, but this is a big thumbs-down for me. I enjoy running a few mornings while we are there, and for a place that should be beautiful to run, it's not ideal. There's a short loop along a sidewalk between Kidani and Jambo, but what I usually end up doing is some on the sidewalk and some along the bottom of the parking lots. You really can't safely run out of the resort, so I usually end up with a few short loops. Depending how far or how long you wish to run, it can be a bit boring, considering it's so picturesque there.

This is a real weakness to AKL. They need to just make a walking path to AK. It would be great for runs but also fix the biggest issue everyone has with the resort that you cannot walk to any park. AK is so close... I hate that they did not do this.

I know what you're saying, but I don't think it's as easy as many think. The area between AKL and AK is 'behind-the-scenes' and also where the employees and park buses enter. But it certainly would be nice! Maybe someday! I'd 100% prefer a walking path over the rumors of the Skyliner, which I know we would hate!

This upcoming May, I have a family WDW trip planned and we are staying in a two bedroom villa at Kidani Village. I have stayed at Jambo House in the past, but never Kidani. So hoping for some help with some questions:

1. Does Kidani Village have its own front desk and checkin? Or do I do all of that at Jambo?
2. is there transport between Kidani and Jambo? Or is it easier just to walk between the two?
3. Does staying in a villa grant me access to Disney Signature Services? There are a couple advance questions/requests I have, but don't want to waste my time waiting on hold if they cannot help me.

If anyone has any other good Kidani tips or advice, I would appreciate it. Our group will be four adults, a four year old, and two 2 year olds. I have already reserved the savanna room, but if there is any other fun or can't miss stuff for the adults or kids, please share!

1) Yes. No.

2) There is a shuttle. Also sometimes you time it so that a bus is there - just make sure it is going in the right direction.

3) No.

2. Walking is easy. Path is marked well and usually faster

ETA- there are so many wonderful observation areas here! Walk the halls after sundown and stop at all of the large windows. There are a lot of animals out and active that you can view at night

This! Leave extra time when going anywhere so you can stop and look out the windows. I know people complain about the long walk to the lobby sometimes, but it gives so much opportunity for viewing!

We are looking at renting DVC points for a 2 bedroom villa. One question that's come up with my travel party is the animals - will we be able to see giraffes in Kidani village? Can we request a room that sees giraffes if we are doing a DVC rental?

Thank you! I've searched this forum and Google but I can't seem to figure this one out. :)

edit - Specifically talking about in the Savannah View rooms.

chances are super high you will see giraffes, zebras, moreThey wander the savanna quite a bit, and they set up feeding areas pretty good for views from any savanna view room.

and def walk out the viewing area off the lobby for closeup view.

To see giraffes and zebras, when you book your rental ask the owner to put in a request for your room to be on the Sunset savanna. That's the one the giraffes and zebras are on, along with other animals. Some Kidani savanna view villas overlook the Pembe savanna, and there are different animals there, no giraffes or zebras.
