I've browsed the last few pages and see that refurb info is spotty and confusing, but I'm going to ask, anyway! Considering a switch to AKL (Jambo, standard view, non-DVC) for an early July trip - I usually request one of the standard rooms that actually have a partial savanna view on Kudu. It sounds like those ought to be done by July, no?

thanks. Thinking if we get there right at 7 we can be at the bus stop by 7:30-7:45 and pull it off.

I think we did this last year. We were the first ones in the door at 7. The service was quick and it is super close to the bus stop.

We have a value studio booked for Dec 25th to Jan 17th. Really hoping to be able to go. We cancelled our May 2020 trip due to a health issue so we are hoping this Dec trip will be a celebration of getting through a really hard year related to that. Thanks for adding us to the list

we will be there April 3-9th! Jambo DVC Studio! We had originally booked March at BLT but had to swap dates and grabbed AKV Jambo! Last stay there was 2017. Guessing the studios havent changed since then! 53 days and counting!

This trip will be our 4th stay at the Lodge and our 2nd as owners.
Maybe we'll bump into you there lol

Since it is not possible at this time to get further information on the regular resort rooms, perhaps my husband and I should consider the DVC studios. We would not be renting, but rather cash. Yes we do love it Susan O'Brien, Sorry I can't tell you which room I'd recommend as owners as we'd previously stayed in cash rooms. In 2017 we stayed in room 3555 and 2018 it was 2362 - both cash rooms and both had fabulous views from the balconies.
As there's just the two of us we stayed in a Savanna view DVC studio in January this year - Room number 5467on the 5th floor (as I think all DVC rooms are). We had a lovely view from the balcony of the Zebra trail. The room was very clean and equipped with everything we needed for our stay. There was a full bath with shower over.
There is plenty of room for 4 people - our bed was really comfortable and there was also a sofa bed if needed.
We will be in a 2 bedroom lock off in October as we're doing a joint trip with my son and his wife plus our two grandchildren.
There are lots of videos on YouTube with resort previews - including quite a few of the refurbished rooms... Hope you get to stay there one day whether paying rack rates or as owners

I was a DVC owner at VGF and I've stayed there a few times. (Had to give it up during a divorce ) But I have always had my eyes on AKL, I am so in love with that resort! We haven't confirmed the second part of our stay yet, we were trying for POLY, but that's booked up now. So we are looking at either the Riviera or Gran Destino Tower. I'm kind of obsessed with the lobby of Gran Destino and the rooms look super nice. But being on the skyliner route would be pretty nice too.

But honesty, I am almost tempted to make the whole stay at AKL, I have a feeling I'll never want to leave

Same for us. A lot of people discount it because it is not right next to a park, but for us its like and oasis of calm away from the craziness of the parks. We never want to leave!
