Ladies and Gentleman, boys and girls...I proudly present my spectacular, out of this world WDW August TR! Although before we begin this exciting tale...here are some important details:




Hi everyone! My name's Lauren, and I'm 14.This was my 6th WDW trip, and i am very excited to share it with all of you! My family and I stayed in AKL:Jambo House from August 16th-23rd. We are on the DVC, so we decided to take my grandparents(Referred to as "Mimi" and "Papa")along, and we stayed in 2 studios. We also were on the
Disney Dining Plan...which we aaalways seem to regret afterwards...

Here's my # for Day 1=

So..on Tuesday, the day of Disney, we happened to have a veeery early flight out of Bradley at 7:10am. Therefore, we all got up @ 4am to the loud sound of my phones Disney Alarm(I use it ONLY on the day i go to disney)!

I was soo excited..our Disney vacation we had been waiting to come for a year had FINALLY arrived!

Mom, Dad, Grace, and me were dressed and on the road to the airport around 5. Once we had arrived at the airport, we got some Dunkin' for breakfast, and met up w/ Mimi and Papa. We were soon seated on Delta!

( oh, and sorry i dont have pics of this early morning at the airport..but dont woorry..there will be tons more to come!)



Anyways...after a boring, uneventful flight, we were @ Orlando airport by 10 am, and really feeling the excitement that we would be in Disney in less than an hour!


We made our way down the long Disney Magical Express hallway, and I snapped a few pics of us waiting in line... ​

Although we didn't have much time, because in only 5 minutes we were seated on the bus...off to a good start!​

Then..we saw this:

Finally! We had arrived at the beautiful AKL: Jambo House. I just cant get over how gorgeous this resort is, and this was going to be my 3rd time staying there!


Dad and Papa checked in at the desk, while the rest of us took a look around the hotel.

It turned out our studios weren't ready yet(which we asked to be close together), but we were told we were on the Zebra Trail...Yes! My favorite!

We gave our carry-ons to the bag guys, and headed to the bus stop.


Where else would we go on our first day at DIsney?

....Magic Kingdom of course!!

But the excitement was dimmed whiile waiting over 30 minutes for a bus...but oh well!...we're at Disney!!

Alrightee, now getting back to my TR..where was I?..Oh yes!
We were just arriving at Magic Kingdom for our first day at Disney!


There's the Main Street Railroad, and the "Let the Memories Begin" sign that must be new, because it sure wasn't there last summer. I also happened to notice it in AK too.

Of course Grace and I had to get a shot of us infront of it too! ​

And there looming up ahead was the gorgeous Cinderella's Castle!

By this time it was around 12, and Mimi and Grace were apparantly "STARVING"...well come to think of it we hadn't had a bite of anything since 5am...so yeah I suppose we ALL were starving. So we made our way to Casey's for our first CS...one of my favorite places.

Mom, Dad, and I had the delicious corn dog bites..the only corn dogs i'll eat, and Grace, Mimi, and Papa had hot dogs. The food was good, and I guess a lot of people thought so too, because there were NO seats!! ohhh well!

After lunch, we were really wanting to see the newly redone Tikki Birds, so we headed over to..AdventureLand!​

Personally, my family all agreed that we thought the other Tikki Birds was better with Iago and his jokes..but it was still good!

Next, we were all extreeemely hot, and after finding out that Jungle Cruise had a HUGE line, and POTC was temporarily closed because of problems, we decided to head over to Splash Mountain...


It did end up having a 70 minute wait though! We figured it may not be that long, so we headed on in!

We're veryyy excited to go on!

In only a 40 minute wait..NOT 70...we were boarding our logs and off to the Briar Patch..Me and Grace even got front seat..YES!

I decided to videotape that ride, which will explain why i have a camera in my face at the drop..this year i was obsessed with videotaping EVERYTHING! because i make movies of our vacations on my Mac computer..ANYWAYS..here we all are:

We got REALLY wet!

I decided to make this odd pose with the indian on our way to Liberty Square afterwards...not sure why i actually did that?

And soon we were off to this ghostly delight:​

We waited only 10 minutes in line..although we happened to step into the boring side of the line and not the new interactive one..bummer...well here we are enjoying our time in line...​

I absolutely LOVED the new traveling ghosts..it was soooo cool!

After HM, we decided to go to Mickey's Philharmagic.
Then we had an ADR at 5 at Liberty Tree Tavern, so we went back to Libery Square. It was very crowded there..it must have been the time when everyone goes there to eat.

We enjoyed a delicious Thanksgiving feast! I thought all the food was great, and because Mom and Papa's birthdays were going to be this week they got special birthday cupcakes...they had also been wearing those birthday pins, which they wore almost all week

Overall, I thought LTT's food was good and we had a very nice server...i would give it a 7/10.


Afterwards..we went on POTC because it was back open, looked in the Emporium, then went back to AKL after a long day.

Our room was all set, and on Zebra Trail we had room 5458. It had a PERFECT pool view, and was right near the elevators !

We unpacked, and Grace and I headed to the pool(Just so you all know..Grace absolutely LOVES the pool part of vacation!)

When we got down there i was given an exciting surprise...there were now movies playing right by the pool like BC(where we stayed last summer).

Tonight was Monsters Inc, one of my favorites!


Then to finish off a great day, we bought new mugs, got some drinks, and fell right to sleep we were sooo dead tired from the early arrrival.

Alrightee, im ready to begin Day 2! Here's my number:

Soo..as you can see..we chose Animal Kingdom for Day 2! Today, we had planned to go to this park with Laura, Steve, Cam, and Colin. Therefore, we were meeting them by Zawadi Marketplace(AKL's giftshop)around 7 am, because AK had EMH.


We got the wake-up call from Stitch @ 6...it was veery hard to get up this early after our extremely early wake-up yesterday. But, hey! My motto at Disney is: "You can sleep at home..NOT Disney!" Anyways while Mom and Grace slept a bit longer, me and Dad got drinks for everyone...I had my delicious Nescafe coffee...i'm a coffeeholic!

After drinking, Dad and I went down early to view the animals, and take some pictures with my new Waterproof Panasonic Lumix! I absolutely LOVED that camera!!


Here's the lovely AKL early in the morning..it was actually still dark!

Here is Dad by these light fixtures outside that we thought were really cute!

We saw a couple animals out there, and there was absolutely NO ONE around! Oh well, more aniimals for us!

Dad took my picture in the rocking chairs by the viewing area...

We went over and met with Laura, Steve, and the Boys, and waited for Mom, Grace, Mimi, and Papa. It was already 7:10...where were they? Mom had said they'd be down in a minute...this was a bit longer than a minute..but then hooray! The whole gang arrived, and we headed down to the AK busstop.

Where we ended up waiting almost 20 minutes for a bus to AK..hmmm?...is this turning into a pattern? Or did we have bad bus luck?

Anyways...off to AK we go!!

Thanks, it was pprobably our best poolview yet at AKL...and yes they did have an area that usually had giraffes by the hot tub, and there were also flamingos near the pool too...it was a great atmosphere...definetely the most beautiful hotel i have EVER stayed at, at WDW. Have you ever stayed there??

Alright, well i'm gonna try to get alot of this report done this afternoon, becuase I have my field hockey tryouts the next 3 days, 2 times a day! Wish me luck! So..be expecting quite a few updates...ok?


We got to AK in only 5 minutes, and when we got there I noticed that it was extremely crowded. Of course that is what I should expect for EMH.



Here's all of us kids posed in front of the AK sign..of course you have to get that picture! Just so you know...Colin is the boy next to me in the white shirt, and Cameron is next to Grace in the blue shirt:​

While we were waiting for our parents in baggage check, I snapped a quick photograph of Grace and the boys infront of the AK sign:

We lined up infront of this beautiful tree while waiting for 8am, and they would open the park. We had decided that Grace, Cam, Colin, Steve, and Me would run to EE, while the other parents would meet us after we got off and go on with us, too. Mimi and Papa had decided that they weren't going to try EE !

Once it was 8 am, Grace, me, the boys,and their Dad booked it to EE...which was quite hard for me, because I was wearing flip flops! Stupid me!

Finally we had reached our destination:

We walked right on EE, and waited, im guessing, less than 5 minutes...we practically ran through the line! Wow!

I sat with Grace in the 3rd car from the front, and the boys sat in front of us. The ride was AWESOME! I could literally go on EE over and over again it's so great !

Afterwards, we met Mom and Dad with Laura, Mimi, and Papa outside the gift shop, and headed onto it again..oh AND again! We got to go on it 3 times! I even sat front seat and video taped the ENTIRE ride!

We boarded the train..here's me after I slammed my leg on the side of the bar when i got in , because i was soo excited!...Front seat!

And here we all are having the time of our lives! Don't mind the guy sitting next to my mom...they just put him there next to her..he was not in our party!

Sadly, though, it was time to move on to something else. While we had been riding EE numerous times, Steve had gotten us FPs for Kilimanjaro Safari, so we went there next. I was very excited to take some pictures of the animals on this safari with my new camera! Goodbye Asia..Hello Africa!

I don't want to bore you with a million animal pictures that we took..so i'll just post a few of my favorites:

Aww, weren't they cute! That Rhino came VERY close to our truck! Moving along...since we were right next to Pangani Trail entrance..we headed there next. Mimi and Papa would LOVE the birds on this trail(They are HUGE bird fans).


Dad wanted my to try to stick my head in the alligators mouth...didn't quite work out..

We went to the gorilla area, but there were hardly no gorillas in the glass part OR the outdoors part..AW!


But atleast I got this picture of my mom with the chalkboard gorilla!...notice that she was wearing her bday pin today too..so was Papa. Sooo many CMs said Happy Birthday to them...luckies!!

After a long trip through Pangani we all went to Dinosaur. This was going to be Mimi and Papa's first time on it, and they LOVED it! In fact, if you read the CAST part of my TR you will notice that Dinosaur is now there favorite ride! Here is a picture of us on the ride! I know it's a bit blurry but oh well!

You may have wondered, "Where's Grace?". Well if you look closely you wil find that she is hidden under her seat in the middle of the back row, between Mom and Dad. Yes, it is safe to say that Dinosaur is not Grace's favorite...



We were starving by the time we got off, so we stopped at Restaurantosaurus for lunch. We go there often for CS. The lunch was GREAT! It was even better than Casey's! And I was a huge fan of the chocolate Mousse dessert..yummy!​

After lunch, Steve Laura and the boys left our group, and Mimi and Papa

decided to go on Dinosaur again. We would save them seats for the Nemo Show up in the front, where we liked to sit.

Then we began to wonder, "where are Mimi and Papa?" We decided to forget about the empty seats beside us, and the enjoy: "Go with the Flooowwww." And if you had wondered about my title of this part's chapter...Dad and I's most favorite...to laugh at..."That's My Dad!"..which we did in fact quote for the rest of the day!

When Nemo ended..we learned that Mimi and Papa had been caught in a HUGE thunderstorm, and weren't able to make it in Nemo! Oh no!

We trekked over to them, and found them in this condition:

Afterwards, we went to flights of wonder. Mimi and Papa( as i stated before) are bird fanatics, so yes they absolutely loved the show!

Next, Grace Mom and Dad waited in line for a pretzel, while me Mimi and Papa saw Bug's Life!

Grace and Dad had already left when we got out of the show, so the rest of us headed back to AKL to get ready for our ADR with Laura, Steve, Cameron, and Colin at Park Fare!

We leave sept 16th for the 10 hr drive to the magic! We are driving all night to get there by 8am saturday for an early check in. Now we just have to decide what to do when we get there because we will be exhausted!
