Me, DH and our 2 DS's are doing the Dunn's River Falls Sky Explorer excursion in a couple of weeks. DH and 1 DS would like to do the Bobsled, but we don't want to book separate excursions. How close is the Bobsled place to Dunn's River Falls and/or the Sky Explorer? Is this something we could easily go do while we're on the other excursion?

I was wondering about this as well.

Also, any good reviews of the Sky Explorer?

I don't know where they are in relation to each other but the bobsleds can be a very long wait so be careful. We did the tranopy adventure in June and the last thing you do is the bobsleds. They had two lines, one for the Tranopy people and one for people doing bobsleds only. The Tranopy people always had priority, (think fast pass without letting stand by people in). At about 1:00 the line for just the bobsleds was very long.

The Tranopy adventure was awesome though, had so much fun on the zip lines. I'm afraid of heights but absolutely loved it and the workers there are great, extremely friendly.

They are very to each other. You could do both if you did it on your own but you could not book both through Disney because they are both about an hour drive from the port. The timing wouldn't work.

If you arrange your own transportation you could do both. The entrance to Dunns River Falls is just a minute or two from the base of the tranopy mountain.

not us...we did Tranopy in August and the Bobsled was the first thing we did when we got to the top of the mountain...in fact we could've ridden it another 3 or 4 times as the line didn't start to build until late morning...

I agree though- the tranopy excursion was worth every penny...ziplining was a blast as was the bobsled...

Thanks so much for the replies!

All 4 of us are going on the Sky Explorer/Dunn's River Falls excursion. While we're on that excursion, I'm hoping DH and 1 DS and easily hop over to do the bobsleds. The 4 of us want to stick togeteher and not do separate excursions, so we cannot book the one that includes the bobsled b/c we are traveling with a 4 year old and the minimum age is 6.

While at Mystic Mountain I'm confident you could fit in a bobsled ride.
We were their last week and the max people we saw in the bobsled line was 10 people. This was between 11 - 1 ~, The line goes pretty fast IMO. The ski lift ride up we felt was 20 minutes long. Buy bobsled tickets at top.

Very helpful - thanks so much for taking the time to reply!

Bear is right. I didn't catch in your original post that you were already doing the Sky Explorer. You should have no problem at all squeezing in a bobsled run.

Thanks! We watched a video of it on YouTube earlier today and hope that everything will work out - it looks like a lot of fun!

We did the Tranopy excursion on Oct 29. Loved it. So much fun. But be informed it is an HOUR bus ride each way. It was a long, hot day and half the bus was sleeping on the drive back. There is also a LOT of time spent on the very slow sky explorer. Again....be informed......we timed AT LEAST 90 min on the sky explorer up and down the mountain to switch between the zip line and bobsled. And at the end of the day LONG waits to get on the sky explorer to go back to the port. We waited 30 min to get a seat on the sky ride to take us back down the mountain to our bus. We had to meet on the ship at 7:15 am and returned to the port around 3:15 pm. Just something to keep in mind. But it was fun!

What would you recommend wearing on the Tranopy excursion? Long pants or shorts?

You could go either way on the pants depending on the weather. We all wore shorts on the Tranopy. It was very hot that day and there was nothing that you needed the protection of long pants for. They do say closed toe shoes.

Thanks!
What about bug spray? Should we debug before leaving the ship?

No problem with bugs in late October either.

Found my pics of the cost of the bobsled rides at the top.

2 rides - $22
3 rides - $29
5 rides - $44

Don't recall if I mentioned this but our driver concluded it would cost less for basic entry that includes ski-lift, then buy theses bobsled packages at the top. I never did the math, but I'm sure he is correct. I never recall reading this info prior to our visit.

Yes.

I assume they offer single rides too, considering the #'s I posted, I'll guess for $12.

Those prices I posted are for extra rides regardless of how you gained entrance to the park.
Whether just a simple entrance ticket (which of course includes the mandatory ski lift ticket, which is the only way up to the top, Tranopy, or any variation of them all.

Hence, my drivers mathematical conclusion.

I will point out fwiw, that it appeared to us, the zip-line activities began mid way - 3/4 up the lift, IOW not at the top. But once in the park, if at the zip-line lift station, just tell them you want to go back up to top, for bobsled action.
Time is the only consideration if using DCL.

Wait times for us was minimal for bobsled, at 2 -7 minutes, but have heard/read of longer wait times from others.
