What happened to the fritter pillows? Are they a thing of the past?
Those are used for presentation for the standard croquetas order. We ordered the mixed plate, which includes six. The "pillow" plates only hold five. What happened to the fritter pillows? Are they a thing of the past?
Not sure if you are referring to the one that is around $100/pp, for 11 (?) small plates. But my nephew-in-law and I did this a couple weeks ago. It was AMAZING! I do not eat a lot, NIL, definitely does. We both loved it. Enough that each of us were able to try the dish, and he polished off what I didn’t finishWas wondering about the Chef's tasting menu and if anyone has had that. I love Spanish food so no worries there - but I am a small eater and can't put it away (unlike my DH). Would it be too much food? Was wondering if I should just stick to a couple of tapas or try the Chef's menu? Recommendations anyone?
We had an extraordinary meal at Jaleo, at Disney Springs, on Tuesday night. The irony is that the best restaurant at Disney isn't owned by Disney at all.

This is our new Favorite. We've been 4 times on our last 3 trips down. We even have a Favorite server we ask for. Winnie. We had an extraordinary meal at Jaleo, at Disney Springs, on Tuesday night. The irony is that the best restaurant at Disney isn't owned by Disney at all.

Thank you! This helps a lot. I'm definitely putting it on my list for our upcoming trip in September! Not sure if you are referring to the one that is around $100/pp, for 11 (?) small plates. But my nephew-in-law and I did this a couple weeks ago. It was AMAZING! I do not eat a lot, NIL, definitely does. We both loved it. Enough that each of us were able to try the dish, and he polished off what I didn’t finish. Did I love every single dish? Nope. Did I try things I never would have ordered and love them? Heck yeah! One of the top dining experiences. I don’t drink alcohol, NIL does, he really enjoyed the recommended cocktails.
We've done this 1 1/2 times now. Better than Remey on the Disney Fantasy. We don't drink so we didn't do the pairing.Thank you! This helps a lot. I'm definitely putting it on my list for our upcoming trip in September!
Talk to your server about your preferences. I have never been to any restaurant where the servers are as knowledgeable about the food and drink as they are at Jaleo.Thank you, I think I may give it a try next month!
I am not surprised at all by this story.I guess it's almost 25 years ago now, but I lived diagonally across the street from Jose's second Jaleo in Bethesda. I had a special needs kid and was always fundraising for elementary school activities and program improvements. All of the parents knew to go to Jaleo to get donations of gift cards. Not once did Jose balk at supporting community projects. He lived in Bethesda and was always a friendly face. What great work he is doing now.
