Went out to the Jax RV Show today. I almost wasn't going to go because last years was a disaster and there were hardly any vendors. This year there were about 10 RV Dealers and lots of booths with people selling camping items to cleaning supplies.

A friend of mine went with me who is looking at possibly buying a small camper. The Surveyor, not sure of the maker looked like a nice model. It is a hybrid that packs lots of room. We went in some of the big rigs as well. Even though they're really nice they don't fit me. Give me a nice tag a long or 5th wheel toy hauler. One brand had a hybrid toy hauler that was nice as well. It had 3 fold out bunks and held 2 four wheelers up front on a deck. Also saw a couple 5th wheel toy haulers that had 2 beds that came down from the roof in the garage, had a bed on top of the garage and a huge bedroom up front not to mention the fold down dinette and couch.

This was also the 1st year it was held at the Jax Equestrian Center. Part of the show was in the arena and part outside. I didn't like they moved the show further from downtown where it used to be but this was a good fit.

Hopefully you all have a good show coming to your town.

You keep leaning toward those hybrid toy haulers, Donnie. I'm thinking I'm gonna see you in one someday.

Whats up Donnie should have called me, i tried to go to the monster jam but it was sold out!!!

We missed the RV show this year it was last weekend and I had to work. I know Donnie those hybrid toyhaulers look better all the time. But there is no guarantee I would gain any mpg, my note could go up, and I would lose interior space. So for now I will keep what I have. I may break down and start pulling it with the dodge and see if the mpg are any better. (But man my Ford is comfortable) Dang golf carts (but man I love them)

We went to the Raleigh show yesterday. WAAYYY better than last year's.

Hopefully within a week or so, we'll be filling out the paperwork on our next TT. :cool1:

What are you going to tow it with? I remember you sold the 6.0

One thing that was encouraging was seeing long lines and I talked to a couple dealers who said they had deals going.

I really like the hybrids for the light weight. I was in a hybrid today and thought it was a good layout.

I really like my 5'er and if I was willing to put the smaller tires back on my cart my life could go back to being very simple. My floorplan is great but the hauler part stinks.

We've given up on hauling our 4 wheelers in a camper. We're going to W VA to the Hatfield McCoy Trails in May and we are renting a small cabin. If I still went 4 wheeling twice a month I would have a hauler that fit my needs for sure.

I think Donnie is mostly looking for a spot to put a tent behind someones camper. Near a married woman with beer preferably.

I think the DW and I may try to hit the Nashville RV show next weekend. Any other Fiends planning on checking it out?

Found it.

The Nashville RV Super Show
March 5-March 7, 2010
Nashville Convention Center down town
Nashville, TN (USA)

And I found this one.

Nashville RV, Boat & Motorcycle Super Show
April 2 - 4, 2010 (another site says April 1-5)
Tennessee Miller Coliseum
Murfreesboro, TN

I'm gonna go now that you found it. I had the one that was suspose to be last month in Nashville on my calendar but it went off the schedule. Thanks for the update. I figured the only one was gonna be the one Denise mentioned. Now the problem up there will be where to find parking.

Yep, the most convenient parking is the ramp behind the convention center next to the library. But ya gotta pay. Don't know if there's any free parking nearby.

I don't think there is free parking anywhere anymore in Nashville. Even on the weekends they charge for the meters.
