Jackie and Chris's Wishes Wedding 1/6/12: SBP/Attic/SCP 5/11 Final Post- PJ Finished

Jackie,

If the girls have their way, we would totally be there. :) Good thing they have school and that it is Mom's birthday the next day, so they need to get ready for that. (At least that's what I am telling them). I can't wait to show them the pictures though.

Paul laughed a lot when I read him the stubborn and grudge part of your vows and wondered if I was planning on plagiarizing your vows, since both of those pertain to me too! :lmao: He's a funny guy. Keeps me from killing him some days. He also wondered if my vows were as short and said "not a chance, but I kept it to 1 page".

Paul and I never do anything on New Years either or most nights. We are pretty non-social too. We have a very small group we see and that's it. Nothing wrong with it, in my opinion.

Happy New Year to you, Chris and Smokey! Pluto is almost at the finish line! Woohoo!!

Have you written your vows yet? I would love to read them. :) I'm glad someone else is stubborn: at least we REALIZE it. And Chris is funny too--- but don't tell him I told you. He does this video game podcast (he's SO cool... :rolleyes1) and someone commented in the reviews on itunes that he was funny and he's STILL talking about it. So I can't let him get a big head! :lmao:

I hope you and Paul had a good, quiet New Year's with the kitties!

************************
Phew. Another busy day. I pretty much finished packing...

photo12-3.jpg

Will it close?!?!?! (It did, somehow.)

photo13-3.jpg

This one is STUFFED with presents. I decided I have to give Chris his wedding present tomorrow because it's just too big to lug to Florida with us. What is it, you might ask?

A dog butler.

Do you any of you watch Modern Family? There was an episode in Season 1 where Jay got a life-size dog butler (a dog dressed like a butler). Well, Chris thought it was the COOLEST thing. When we registered, he kept saying "I want to register for a dog butler." Like, OVER AND OVER. After he stopped bringing it up, I decided to buy him a small one (I only spent $30 on the thing). Is it the most romantic gift ever? Nope. But he will LOVE it. :goodvibes I can't wait to show you all pictures tomorrow of him with his dog butler.

For now, here's one of him with Smokey: aren't they both precious?

photo14-2.jpg

Look at Mickey photobombing!!!! :lmao:

As I was packing though, I somehow lost the digital camera. I got really mad at myself, yelled a lot, searched for an hour, and then found it behind a plastic crate of drawers. It must have fallen. I get really cranky, tired, and forgetful when I'm stressed. I just can't wait to LEAVE!

And, I posted this on facebook: but we're letting Lacy come. I really don't WANT to, but I also don't want Chris to regret it in five years. His younger sister died 2 years ago, and he would give anything to have her there--- and if anything were to happen to Lacy, he'd never forgive himself. We've called a "truce" until after the honeymoon. Apparently, her big plan was to apologize in person--- but she's selfish, and she didn't realize that I wouldn't want to hash it out in WALT DISNEY WORLD! I am sorry, but I have 2 priorities for this WDW trip: (1) get married; (2) ride the Haunted Mansion. If you cannot assist me in either of those, then please get out of my way!!! Grrrrr.

So it's the mature thing to do, but it still makes me grrrr. Hopefully my MOH and MaH get in some snide comments. popcorn::

I actually hope it's not a problem: my 72 hour count is due on January 3rd, and they're out of the office until January 3rd. I've sent emails to both my planner and her assistant. I really wish everyone weren't out of the office so close to my wedding. (Christy has also been on vacation all week.) Oh well; what can I do?!

I think that's all that's new. I also paid off the hair appointments (thanks, Dad! :thumbsup2), and I'm finishing up my line budget so I can post that tomorrow. My MOH arrives in WDW tomorrow, and I am SO excited. It's her first trip (if you don't count the one day visit when she was 5), and I hope she loves it. Her first disney experience is going to be O'Hana during Wishes: let's hope they give her a window seat. :wizard:

I 100% agree with your sentiment of get married and ride haunted mansion or get the HAY out of my way!

only for me it will be get married and ride star tours.

you are doing the right thing though because this wedding is for you and chris and not just about you. so i applaud you for that.

love you girl! Can not wait for you to get married

in 2013 we should have a disbrides/discouples of 2012 meet up sometime in the summer or something :)

Teresa

OH my goodness, I'm SO excited to see this dog butler! It's going to be awesome!!!! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I totally respect your decision for letting Lacy come. I had an awkward family situation at my wedding where the mother of my flower girl (brother's ex) started to cry 1 week out from the wedding and asked me if she could come. (1. we never invited her and 2. she's not on good terms with many that attended...and 3. it was a week out from the wedding! arrgh). Anyways, after a lot of deliberating, we decided she could come to the ceremony only, because she is technically family and it would be good for her little one. Well, guess who invited herself to our reception?! :headache: AND she sat at the parent's table!!! How tacky. I didn't mean to hijack, but I just wanted to tell you as crappy as it might be, she is family, so hopefully she'll realize this is a special time for you and her own brother.

SO SOON! Eek!

Wooo!!! You are getting so close! I can't wait to see pictures of Barkley (please tell me you named him Barkley!!) Luckily you didn't give it to him while he was there or he would have perhaps gotten married to it :lmao: Anyways...it's nice that you guys were able to pull a truce with Lacy for the wedding. As much as family can make us angry sometimes, when they aren't there for the important moments in our lives it can be tough. I know you didn't really want to but its great that you did it for Chris' sake. You're such a good person :cutie:

Anyways, keep us posted as the days go by! Everything is going to be great!

Oh my sweet Jackie - What a mature and unselfish decision you have made regarding Lacy. It really demonstrates how you are the much bigger person in all of this!! I am so proud of the way you have handled all this, sweetie!!
Anyway, only a few days until your big day!!! It is the greatest feeling ever when you are all packed, the stress (or at least the worst of it) is all behind you and all you have to do is enjoy your special time!!! Enjoy every moment of the next few days, and make sure that all the precious memories you are about to create, are printed, in indelible ink, on your memory!!!
I love the gifts and your pretty hair, and I think your vows are amazingly sweet and sincere - typical you!!!
I will be following you eagerly over the next few days and all my love and prayers go to WDW with you and Chris!!!

I can't wait to see the dog butler! The presents that actually mean something (even if it's just something silly or fun) are definitely the best! It's so hard to buy presents for guys anyway, might as well get them a dog butler! :lmao:

I totally get you about the stress and flipping out. That happens to me a lot when I misplace something, I just get really frustrated - and add in all of the wedding stress I would be surprised if you weren't getting cranky!

And I know it must be hard for you, but you're doing the right thing by letting Lacy come. I'm sure Chris appreciates it, and it's better to be in a truce with her than fighting. Hopefully she'll be fine during the wedding.

You're getting married in 4 days!!

Congratulations on your upcoming marriage. You and your DF sound like such a fun couple. I especially love the dog butler groom's gift - el diablo, as Gloria called him on Modern Family :lmao:

Love your packing pics!! Smokey is TOO cute!

I think it's hilarious you got Chris at dog butler! That's amazing!

Like I said on FB, you are doing the right thing by letting her come (even though she's rude, mean, and totally doesn't deserve it). Just do your thing, have your day, and hopefully she behaves!

I'm so excited for you!

-JACKIE YOU LEAVE TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope that you have a fabulous time!
-You are definitely being the bigger person with the whole Lacy situation. Don’t worry about her at all while you are in the World. Just have fun and enjoy everything because everything will fly by.
-I love the way you think when it comes to shopping!
- LOVE the hair!!!!!!! It’s going to look beautiful on your wedding day!
-I really like your vows. They are perfect. My favorite part is about you being stubborn and holding silly grudges. (I do the same thing)
-I want to see the dog butler!
-Now I just want to say that I hope you and Chris have fun!!!! Enjoy this trip and don’t let anything bother you. You are such a great person and you deserve the best. Have a safe trip, take care, and POST PICTURES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello My Wedding is in Four Days Jackie!!

Great job on the packing. One less thing to worry about. I hope you are relaxing today and tomorrow before you get on the plane. :)

We have so much in common, that I am not surprised that we are Sisters in Stubbornness as well. I am a Taurus, so mine comes with the territory. I am a very typical Taurus for the most part. :)

I have written my vows. I think I had them written before I even finally got in contact with DFTW. I was on the treadmill one day at the gym and part of it came to me. I rushed home and managed to get it down on paper. I can definitely post them if you want or send them to you, either way. Let me know and it shall be done. I can also hold them till you get back from some little trip you have coming up. ;)

We have never missed an episode of Modern Family. It is the best show on tv. I loved the Dog Butler. I am sure Chris will too. Can't wait to see it.

Pluto only has a couple more steps to take to the finish line!! Woohoo!!

I've been keeping up with your drama on FB and I have to take my hat off to you young lady, your a much bigger person than I am - I showed Paul what she wrote about you and what she said and as laid back as he is he couldn't even believe what she said!

You are going to have an amazing wedding day, your so close, yay you for being able to close your case!!! :) xxx

-Ha! I loved the new Star Tours. That was actually my favorite ride when I was little. Love you too! And a discouples of 2012 meet up would be AMAZINNNGGGGGGGGG!!!!!

You already saw the dog butler! Spoiler alert! He's awesome though. And that's really crappy of her inviting herself to the reception. And she sat at the parent's table?!?! That's bizarre. I would have led her out for you if I had come!!! I hope she behaves herself... she PROMISES she will. So we'll see! (My dad also offered to put her into a choke hold if she didn't...)

Wooo!!! You are getting so close! I can't wait to see pictures of Barkley (please tell me you named him Barkley!!) Anyways, keep us posted as the days go by! Everything is going to be great!

We've only called him "El Diablo" so far--- but same thing! And thank you for saying so... I also needed to make sure I didn't want Lacy there out of my stubbornness. I am REALLY good at being stubborn.

Oh my sweet Jackie - What a mature and unselfish decision you have made regarding Lacy. It really demonstrates how you are the much bigger person in all of this!! I am so proud of the way you have handled all this, sweetie!!

JOANNE I MISSED YOU!!!!!!! Don't stay away for so long! Can't you start planning another vow renewal? Thank you for all of your kind words and thoughts as usual. <3

I can't wait to see the dog butler! The presents that actually mean something (even if it's just something silly or fun) are definitely the best! It's so hard to buy presents for guys anyway, might as well get them a dog butler! :lmao:

Guys are SO hard to buy for: and I didn't want to get Chris a video game or anything. I know he bought me a Pandora charm (I just know haha). But I don't have any space on my bracelet for new ones! First world problems.

I KNOW I AM GETTING MARRIED IN FOUR DAYS WHEN DID THAT HAPPEN?!?! And thank you for your words about the Future-Sister-in-lawzilla. Why have I not called her that before??

Congratulations on your upcoming marriage. You and your DF sound like such a fun couple. I especially love the dog butler groom's gift - el diablo, as Gloria called him on Modern Family :lmao:

Thank you so much!!! :)

Right! Smokey is SO cute! I am going to miss him SO much. I hope you find a puppy soon! (We actually adopted Smokey when he was a puppy--- so they CAN be found. :goodvibes) We're bringing him to a place that also does doggie daycare. In other words, we're spending a small fortune on him, but he's worth it. Sorry, I could talk about Smokes for DAYS. And thanks for all your support!

I know I am getting married in 4 days!! I don't really believe it. I am mostly relaxing. I am alternating between excitement and panic. We don't leave until 6:30 tomorrow: I am going to be a royal mess all day! (See, royal! because I am a princess! I crack myself up.)

I would love to read your vows when I come back. I will need a good wedding cry! We've also never missed an episode of MF. We bought season 2 for $8.99 on Black Friday and watched an entire disc of it on Christmas. Best $9 I've ever spent!

I've been keeping up with your drama on FB and I have to take my hat off to you young lady, your a much bigger person than I am - I showed Paul what she wrote about you and what she said and as laid back as he is he couldn't even believe what she said!

I know! I still can't believe what she said: trust me, I am not through being angry. I just have to let it go (which is SO hard for me!). We shall see how things turn out post weddingmoon....

***************
I can check in to my Southwest flight in exactly 33 minutes. No, I am not counting or anything! :lmao: Gotta make sure Chris, Cinderella [the dress], and I get good seats. Cindy needs her window seat, after all.

Before I post the pictures of the dog butler, I need to vent a LITTLE about df. Now, I have been writing in this planning journal for about a year now, right? And he's seen me take pics, email them to myself, and then post them to photobucket. Today he says to me "Why don't you just get the photobucket app?!?!" Oh, Chris. If I had known such a wondrous thing existed, I would have! :lmao: Men.

ANYWAY, today began with Chris getting the dog butler:

Look, Jack! I'm holding it like the dog is holding the tray!!!

e6580eb4.jpg

This is how he sits: in our kitchen, holding the cheeseburger bank. Oh, Chris. :lmao:

Later on, I made Chris help me clean and our apartment is now in its "presentable" status. Not great, but presentable. I also wrote out thank you cards to my lovely MOH and MAH and I wrote out Chris's wedding day card. I still feel bad that I had to give him his present so early, but I didn't want to lug El Diablo to Florida with us. I am sure you all understand!

Christy emailed me back: Lacy is on the guest list. She must have checked her email even though their offices were closed. That makes me love her even more. She's been such a good planner; I'm glad I'm giving her a good present.

And, because I promised it: here is our budget of almost every single purchase we've made for the wedding. I kept receipts and updated it every so often, so it is fairly accurate.

Now, I know that's "really good" for a wedding: but WOW, that's a lot of dough! In retrospect, I could have trimmed that a lot (did I really need to spend almost $300 on jewelry?! Probably not!) But, it is what it is. We will get our $1,000 deposit back, but still. Our wedding, then, averages at almost $1,000 a person! Oof! Regardless, it will be a wonderful day. :)

Let's see. I also watched Cinderella to prep myself for MY happily ever after (and I might have cried, just a little). Such a good movie, I hadn't seen it in years!

Tomorrow morning, we go drop off Smokey first thing (I don't wanna talk about that...), then Chris goes to work from 7-3:30, and I pace around the house like a madwoman waiting until 3:30 when I get to go meet him at the airport. Our flight doesn't leave until 6:30 CST, so I will certainly be posting again tomorrow. I am already a bundle of excitement; I am going to be insufferable!

I LEAVE TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :yay::yay::yay:

Hello There,

I confess to be more of a stalker than particpant on the board, as I bide the so very long time time until our planned Disney VR in 2015, but I have been following your story especially, and just wanted to send you and your DF my best wishes on your upcoming wedding!

I look forward to reading all about the wonderful day you are sure to have.

Safe travels!

Jackie, I am so incredibly excited to see and hear all about your big day! I hope you find joy in every minute of this week.

The dog butler is great!! I love Modern Family! It actually makes me think of Disney World, because the first time I saw an episode, we were in the All Star Music avoiding a rain storm.

So glad your guest count situation worked out okay! I really think DFTW is great about helping their brides with last minute problems/questions.

I love that you watched Cinderella-- I watched Snow White the night before we left for our wedding trip! And I didn't cry a little, I bawled! (Mostly while mumbling "It's just so beautiful".... I'm a dork!)

Your fairy tale is almost here! :yay:

Yay, my little SIL is getting married soon! I hope you have a wonderful trip and fabulous wedding day. I love that you call your dress Cindy. It makes her sound like she has an attitude.

Your DF gift is hilarious! Did he love it? My H and I are like that too, he got me a potato masher for Christmas and I love it.

Have fun riding the haunted mansion, that is my 4 yr old's favorite ride. We ride it a lot!

The dog butler is really cute! I've never heard of them before.

I'm as particular as you are with the budget. I don't have record of a lot of the expenses, but all of the expenses we are responsible for, I have tracked. My parents asked us to save up $7000 to put towards wedding expenses...so we deposit so much each month. I have a very detailed spreadsheet that shows how much we should have in there each month...its connected to our expenses sheet as well so those are accounted for. :)

Long time lurker, first (I think?) time poster. Safe travels to the World, can't wait to see how this all comes together! Have a Mickey Bar for me!

So excited for you guys!!! Love the dog butler! You go to WDW, get married and ride the Haunted Mansion (my fav ride, too!). Hope you, Chris and Cindy have a wonderful flight!
DH and I finally played the Disneyland game this weekend and it's so fun! Took me awhile to get a hang of getting around the game aka walking - how lame! :rotfl:
