Is the Jack Sparrow character still doing performances outside the Pirates ride? We saw him last Jan, my sons are hoping he'll still be there when we get there later this year. Also, does he sign autographs? My sons got Pirates collectible baseballs and keep insisting they are going to have him sign them when we go! :)

The Pirate Tutorial is still there...unless it's stopped very recently. Jack, however, does not USUALLY sign autographs. I've heard that the Mommies get a little too....friendly...with Jack. :scared1: It's just not safe for him to stop for long.:rotfl: There's always a chance that you may get a little pixie dust and he'll sign....but I would prepare the boys for not.

The tutorial is still there as far as I know, it was when I was there in May 2009. As ncmickeyluvr mentioned, sometimes pixie dust does get sprinkled and he will :) , but he does not usually sign, again as ncmickeyluvr said.

There was no tutorial one afternoon due to rain (it was the week when the rain would just not stop), and it had let up for about half an hour. I can't remember what I was doing (I think I was waiting for Peter and Wendy) and Jack came out from one entrance, swaggered around and headed for another entrance. Two little boys stopped him and asked him for autographs. He also posed for photos, and then did an impromptu meet and greet :) Sometimes, you never know!

Jack is one of those rare meet and greets. I hope some pixie dust gets sent your way! :)

We saw Jack last week at the Pirate Tutorial. My son won't do it, but we walked past the show on our way to get a Dole Whip.

What time does he usually show up?

This is a great site to keep BOOKMARKED for future reference.

The following site posts the stage shows, in-park and other on-property shows and their times for the CURRENT week.
(It is updated every weekend.)
The times may be "similar" for other dates as well.

THIS WEEK:

Captain Jack Sparrow’s Pirate Tutorial
There are pirates among us! And they're looking to recruit. None other than Captain Jack Sparrow's first mate, Mack, is searching out brave souls who dream of a pirate's life. Can you swing a sword, sail the seas, and spot a cursed treasure before you plunder it? Maybe Captain Sparrow will even let you take the Pirate Oath and join his crew.
Daily at 10:15 & 11:20am, 12:25, 2:15, 3:20 & 4:25pm
Length of sets: 20 minutes

Thanks! :goodvibes I'm glad he's still there, we loved watching that! I'm hoping my sons will be brave enough to try and volunteer since they will be 7 this time. I will try and get the autographs out of their heads, I really didn't want to carry 2 baseballs to WDW if I didn't have to! ;)

We saw Jack this past December....actually my DD8 pointed him out just after we were leaving the pirate shop (the one that you go into after the ride). My DD8 knows I am a HUGE fan of Jack and that was one character that I wanted to see, autograph or not. Unfortunately he was at the end of the Pirate Tutorial. He and his shipmate (don't know name) sang "Yo Ho, Yo Ho, A Pirate's Life For Me". Afterwards he mentioned that he had something very important that he had to do and could not tell anyone about it, next we know he is running off (backstage), like Jack Sparrow does. It was very funny. I had already told my family that when we are there in March, we are going to try to see the whole thing :goodvibes

My son got picked this past May for the tutorial and got to be the last kid and fight Jack! It was awesome. My dd was mad that she didn't get picked too...but when he left the tutorial he came into the crowd where we were and brushed past her...she was so excited!(she was 6 at the time) Here are 2 pix from it...but I believe thay have since built a stage for the show???

loveysbydesign that is exactly where we saw Jack in December....there was no stage for him then, unless it was in the last month in a half that they built one :confused3 That Jack looks like the same Jack that we saw too
