Jack and Sally. UPDATED. FINISHED :( !! LOTS of pics. 6.26-7.3

I had a very similar experience and felt the same way at Pleasure Island. I have only been once, and I'm not sure I will ever go again. I have heard great things about the Adventurer's Club, but I'm not sure if it's worth it!

Your RnRC pic is adorable!

Loved your latest update :thumbsup2

So sorry to hear about your bad experience with PI. I have never been there. Even when DH & I were dating, we never went to clubs that often. We didn't like the people it attracted (more so, their behavior) :sad2:

We have never seen the Streetmosphere performers at MGM (or the rope drop for that matter). Next time, my family and I will be sure to see both.

One of the nights we were at CBR last year, they found a baby alligator in the lake and were trying to catch it using marshmellows. That was one fast gator. Everyone was gathered on the bridge of castaway cay watching them work. It was really funny. :lmao:

Do you think the Animation Studio would be fun for young kids? We didn't go last time, but it looks like something little kids would like too!

Great update!
We never fell in love with DTD either even though its seemed so young person themed... Idunno... we skipped it entirely this trip

And I didn't even realize that we skipped the animation studio thingy... now me and Rob def need to go back because I soooo want to do that! lol! we watched some animation video with mushu last time and then met the chicken little characters but we thought itwas boring so we didnt even walk over that way this time! hmm...

Great trip report, I am really enjoying reading it. DTD has never been a big favorite of mine either. I also cry so much during my trips to Disney. It's just that everything's so magical that it crying is inevitable! ha ha ha :rotfl2:

Love the trippie. The pics of the Poly look great... I wished on my last visit to stay there too...

Got to say I just love your Trip Report..

Me and my DBF have been reading, and we thinks it's great to see a couple "our age" (I'm 18 and he's 20) having fun and stuff.. We're planning on going next summer, and have never been before (been to DLRP), so we've been taking notes :lmao:

Can't wait for the next instalment!

Enjoyed this installment. Sorry to hear that your time at Pleasure Island was so "unpleasurable". I've heard that the atmosphere has changed over the last few years. Maybe Disney needs to look into that:confused3

Looking forward to hearing about the rest of your trip! Thanks for sharing.:thumbsup2

I've been MIA for quite some time and I just got caught up on your TR!! I'm glad you guys had such a great time...even though some things kinda sucked (ie: California Grille & DTD)...LOL
I hope I will be able to create some magic for folks like you had created for you!! (In just 8 short days I will be an official WDW (College Program) CM!!!)

Kinda OT but, how excited are you to be off to college?! I began my "away at college" life kinda late (25, beginning my 2nd year this fall) but, I enjoy it nevertheless...I hope you have an amazing time...it really will be the best years of your life! And, WTG for taking French. I've had 4+ years of it in high school & college combined and I absolutely love it!!! It really is a beautiful language!

Can't wait to read more!!! :goodvibes

lazidazi07, I discovered your trip report this morning and just finished reading through it. I enjoyed it very much, especially all the photos. I'm glad you began posting larger pics (around page 10, I think) because the ones on the first few pages are rather small.

I agree about DTD. DTD (specifically Pleasure Island) is the most un-Disney place at WDW. It is an obvious attempt to keep people who are seeking that type of entertainment from spending their money elsewhere. Is Disney not making enough money on everything else in the resort? :confused3 ;)

So much fun. I was wondering how was the Beach Resort compared to your stay at GF? I noticed in your siggie you've stayed there too.

I've only stayed at Poly but have been thinkin about GF and BR.

Thanks.

Okay...sorry for the delay. :guilty: College snuck up right behind me! But now I am moved into my very comfortable shoebox, aka my dorm room. I am loving college life, but I only go to classes three days a week,( and the are very easy classes, - I was shocked!) so I am able to finally finish this! :) Expect an update by Thursday at the latest! :surfweb:

I haven’t quite got the rest of the pictures to finish Sun & Mon on my computer yet (I finally got a flash drive and John is coming up to visit me this weekend, so I plan to get them from his computer this weekend!) but I promised an update, so here is one. Sorry for the delay…I’m trying my hardest to finish this brody!

We got to sleep in a little bit today and awoke to head to our 10AM 1900 Park Fare ADR. I was itching to wander into the MK but we headed to the monorail. There was NO one wanting to get on the monorail, so without thinking I asked the CM next to us if it was possible to be able to ride in the front of the monorail. He said he would check to see if anyone was up there and if there wasn’t we could ride! There wasn’t anyone up there when it arrived, so we climbed up front! Like most people report these days, our driver didn’t say anything to us at all. But we got some great views. It was actually pretty scary, the track is so shaky and unsteady up there!

We arrived at the Grand Floridian, and I was very excited to be back. We were early ( as usual this trip!) so we checked in and browsed around. I remember being completely overwhelmed with this place when I was younger, but this time I found it pretty boring…We decided out of all the deluxes, it was too froofy for a Disney trip. To each his own, though. It really is very beautiful.
S6301248.jpg

Our buzzer went off and we were quickly seated.
S6301250.jpg

This place was crowded, loud and chaotic! We never really got to meet Alice and Hatter, and the other characters didn’t really spend a lot of time with us. We’re not quite sure why they kind of skipped over us, except that we were older, but we like characters too!
S6301251.jpg

Tigger is one of John’s favorite characters (after Pan) and this is one of my favorite pictures of him this trip! Can’t you just see how happy he is? Awwwhh.
The food was very good, and they had bread pudding and a soft serve ice cream machine, so yes I tried to create Ohana’s bread pudding for breakfast! Its vacation, I do what I want! John loves breakfast, so he was in heaven.
After our chaotic breakfast, we headed to the bus stop to head to DTD. Yes, we were going to brave DTD again. This time, to experience Disney Quest. This had to be the LONGEST bus ride EVER! We got to DQ just as it was opening, and it was a very hot and long line. Once we got in, we headed to CyberSpace Mtn. That was a very good idea because it was VERY crowded later. We didn’t add too many spins because of our previous motion sickness problems, and it was pretty fun. I felt kind of bad, I think John would have had a lot more fun if he was with his guy friends, because we just didn’t enjoy the place. Yes, some of the virtual reality stuff was cool, but whats the point of playing Skee Ball with no tickets, etc.
S6301259.jpg

S6301265.jpg

After spending about 3-4 hours in DQ, we decided to go shop. Today seemed like the hottest day since we had been there. It was like as soon as it was July the crowds and heat doubled! We headed to the marketplace and John had McDonalds. I later got Earl of Sandwich to take back to CBR, because I don’t think they had to AC on in EofS. It was unbearable! We bought some souvenirs, and headed back to CBR. We got off at OPR so I could get some CBR souvenirs and take some pictures since we would be checking out to transfer to ASMu tomorrow!

As we stepped into our room, the clouds opened up and it started pouring! We settled in to take a nap, and hopefully we would be seeing Illuminations tonight!

I hope to have the next installment up by Sunday!

Woohooo I'm first! :cool1:

Fantasmic is great :goodvibes , I couldn't get any decent pics either though, but that was a great shot of Mickey! Sorry you had a crappy time at DTD. A lot of locals hit that joint so I'm sure half the people you saw acting unDisney were those people. I've seen it too when I've gone. You looked great in your Lime dress though. :thumbsup2

Thank you. I think we've officially taken DTD off our list of things to do. :sad2:

That's too bad that you had such a bad night at Pleasure Island. I have never been. I have read good things about the Adventurer's Club though. It sounds like the rest of your day was fantastic though! I absolutely adore Fantasmic, it is so good. My pictures of the show did not turn out as well.:confused3

I bet the Adventurer's Club is really great, its a different show each time. If we would have been there any other time, I'm sure it would have been great. Thanks for reading!

I loved all your pictures.:thumbsup2

Thank you!

Your RnRC pic is adorable!

Thank you! No more DTD for us. If we wanted that atmosphere, we could just go somewhere in our town. We go to Disney for other stuff. I'm sure the Adventurer's club can be great, though.

Loved your latest update :thumbsup2

We have never seen the Streetmosphere performers at MGM (or the rope drop for that matter). Next time, my family and I will be sure to see both.

Make sure and see Streetmosphere, they can be a really great rest break, and very entertaining! No more DTD for us, I'm afraid! :)

One of the nights we were at CBR last year, they found a baby alligator in the lake and were trying to catch it using marshmellows. That was one fast gator. Everyone was gathered on the bridge of castaway cay watching them work. It was really funny. :lmao:

:rotfl: Free entertainment at Disney? :) That sounds funny!

Do you think the Animation Studio would be fun for young kids? We didn't go last time, but it looks like something little kids would like too!

I think it would be great for young kids! It is kind of fast paced though, so it depends I guess on your kids if they can keep up. I had a hard time finishing within the time limit. It is really fun and a great souveneir though!

Great update!

Definently do the animation studio next time! Out of all the planning I did for this trip, I didnt even know this was here! It is such a little breather added into the day, and a great souveneir!

Great trip report, I am really enjoying reading it. DTD has never been a big favorite of mine either. I also cry so much during my trips to Disney. It's just that everything's so magical that it crying is inevitable ha ha ha

:rotfl: I'm so sappy, I couldve cried so many times during our trip, but I tried to keep it in! Everything is just so magical and overwhelming. Awwh, I'm about to tear up thinking about it! :sad1: :rotfl:

Love the trippie. The pics of the Poly look great... I wished on my last visit to stay there too...

Maybe someday I'll stay there! It is SO beautiful!

Ahh, glad your reading! I wish I wouldve had a trip report to read of people our age before I went! :) Lucky you, I want to go to DLRP so BAD!

Enjoyed this installment. Sorry to hear that your time at Pleasure Island was so "unpleasurable". I've heard that the atmosphere has changed over the last few years. Maybe Disney needs to look into that:confused3

Looking forward to hearing about the rest of your trip! Thanks for sharing.:thumbsup2

Thanks for reading! I definently think DTD needs an atmosphere makeover! :rotfl:

I've been MIA for quite some time and I just got caught up on your TR!! I'm glad you guys had such a great time...even though some things kinda sucked (ie: California Grille & DTD)...LOL

Thanks for reading! I'm thinking about doing the college program! I am loving college and it is going very well. It is like the best vacation ever (besides Disney of course) and I actually like all the learning aspects as well! French is amazing, I cant get enough of it. I actually think I might want to minor in it! :) The only downer of course, is now I am a broke college student and am trying really hard to get back to Disney this summer, but I dont know where the money is going to come from! :sad2:

lazidazi07, I discovered your trip report this morning and just finished reading through it. I enjoyed it very much, especially all the photos. I'm glad you began posting larger pics (around page 10, I think) because the ones on the first few pages are rather small.

DTD is just a mess. I really think if they work on it it could be a great place, but we wont be going back there anytime soon. We would like to do Cirque maybe someday, though. Thanks for reading!

So much fun. I was wondering how was the Beach Resort compared to your stay at GF? I noticed in your siggie you've stayed there too.

I've only stayed at Poly but have been thinkin about GF and BR.

Thanks.

The GF was on a much larger and luxurious scale. CBR was much like a motel-style resort in the Carribean. For us, though, we discovered we were never in our room so we're going to do value next time anyway. CBR is defiently a beautiful beach theme for those on a budget.

thanks for reading!

:cool1: YEA! An update! This has been an awesome TR so far!! Lovin' all your pictures!

Ahh, glad your reading! I wish I wouldve had a trip report to read of people our age before I went! :) Lucky you, I want to go to DLRP so BAD!
Yeah is always good to have people that are at the same pace and have same interests and stuff... We're going in late June too, so that's also a plus, since it's the same time-ish (just next year lol).. :)
Really? Loads of WDW goers only stick with "the real thing" :headache: ...But I guess you have that french fascination going,:goodvibes seriously I think you're mad, I can't stand languages, ok maybe I'm just rubbish  .. But anyway back to DLRP it is lovely, some people seem to have never heard of queueing, but still really pretty, and from what I hear Space Mountain and BTM are quite different (and better) than over in WDW..

Alsoo, looking forward to the next update!! :D

When we awoke, it was still raining pretty hard. So we pulled out those ponchos and headed out.
disneysundmon001.jpg

disneysundmon010.jpg

A little rainbow came out!
. Because of the rain, Test Track was down again, so never got to ride Test Track that trip. (Theres ALWAYS next time. ) We chose to watch Illuminations from A little deck in Future World, which a lot of Brazilians also chose. They were very funny and entertaining. We also met a guy next to us from South Africa, so we definently had an Epcot multicultural experience! Unfortantly, we chose the wrong side to watch Illuminations because the wind blew our direction and all we saw was smoke. It was really disappointing.
disneysundmon019.jpg

We left a little early and headed to the monorails. When we got there, they had shut down the monorails for the “safety reasons” again. It was a MESS. Everyone was either trying to get to MK or TTC and the busses were really crowded. But MK was going to be open until 3 AM that night so we were stoked.
disneysundmon024.jpg

We got there right as the fireworks were ending and we FP Space Mountain. Rode Snow white and browsed the shops. As we headed back to TMLand, we decided to walk through Toontown. We didn’t meet any characters, but I really liked looking at the houses, they were so cute! Especially Minnies.
disneysundmon027.jpg

disneysundmon030.jpg

We took the path back to tommorowland and ate at Cosmic Rays. John got a burger and I tried the rotisserie chicken. It wasn’t very good. It was good enough though, because I was very hungry. We then went to ride Space Mountain one last time. We then headed to Adventureland to enjoy our very last DoleWhip and watch the castle change colors.
