I just had my 2nd HCG test and it was 1585!!!

So it looks like we are well on the way to a good pregancy!! I feel like I can celebrate now. Last test is Monday and then we'll have the ultrasound the following week!

Sounds like great numbers! My first beta with the twins was about 700 and my second was 1700+. I didn't have another test after that. Your ultrasound could be very interesting. Congratulations on the pregnancy and here's to a happy and healthy 9 months.........

I am 33, DH 34 and we have male factor infert. We started trying about 4 years ago, did a few IUI's and than last September I did my first IVF which was 'a perfect cycle with perfect embryos' according to my Dr- got a BFN.
2nd cycle we did in December and my Dr said the embryos couldn't have been more perfect and he would be shocked if we didn't get pregnant - well it was a chemical pregnancy!! So, I swore I wouldn't do another cycle, but than our insurance pays for 3 cycles so I didn't want to wonder later on in life 'what if #3 worked' so here we are!. I've been on Lupron for about a week now, which we didn't do before. He's changed my meds around a bit this time. I have my baseline on Friday, the 25th, so I'm thinking retrieval/transfer will be sometime around the 2nd or 3rd week of August. The other 2 cycles we transferred 2 blasts and had none leftover to freeze.
So that's my story

Thanks for the wishes!!! I'm still convinced it's twins -- but felt that way from the beginning...DH says it'll be 1 since that what he says he can handle . Either way will be fine -- as you said -- I just want happy and healthy!

Wow -- what a story of your IVFs. I'm certainly new to this stuff and don't know exactly what BFN is or a chemical pregnancy, but realize it was not what you were looking for.

I certainly hope and will pray for you that this 3rd IVF goes well. I think you are right to try again since insurance will pay for it...but I can only imagine the heartache, hope, fears, etc that you are going through. I trust you have a good network of family and friends to support you, but please know that your "disney-loving on-line family" is here to listen if you ever just need to chat, too.

BFN = big fat negative and with the chemical pregnancy, I had gotten a positive beta # but it was so low, only 13 and my progesterone levels were really low too, 6 I believe it was. So, I knew then that it wasn't a pregnancy that was going to stick and when I went back 3 days later the beta had dropped to 0. They don't know if my progesterone levels being so low is what caused it or what.

So how are you feeling? Tummy sore yet? I actually didn't mind the actual shots -- it was kind of cool seeing the needle go in -- yeah, it was weird -- I'll blame it on the meds!

I had my 3rd HCG test and it went up 2.71 times to 4,283!!! I'm just so glad it's a good healthy pregnancy so far.

My ultrasounds are scheduled for 7/28 and 8/13 -- so we'll find out how many sacs/heartbeats on Monday and confirm again 2 weeks later. I so cannot wait for these appts.

We took our (at the time) 3 month old and I really found it to be peaceful. We got on lots of rides, she was stimulated and when we came back from vaca, she slept through the night (6-8 hrs). Use the baby stations, nurse on the longers rides (American pavilion, TTA -- go multiple times, etc). We found taking a stroller and Bjorn worked for us. We could carry her on the rides in the Bjorn easier.

Of course, I had very bad Gestational Diabetes and had a very large C-Section scar that got infected. I was in the hospital for a week and a half, but I miss it though! (lol) Could you tell me what the Bjorn is? Someone else had mentioned that to me and I didnt know what they were talking about. My stroller is called "the monster". Its a heavy blue Graco one that was my big daughter Adina's and my husband doesnt want to take it to FL b/c he has no desire to try to lug it on the buses.

Baby Bjorn is a company that makes lots of baby things but is best known for their baby carriers.

Some people prefer wraps (think a H_U_G_E towel) and others prefer slings. I tried the wraps but found they got too dirty since they were so long they dragged on the ground.

So we used a baby bjorn carrier. Here is a picture of me and my daughter 3 years ago waiting in line at IASW.

And in front of the castle.

As far as strollers go -- if you can help it, DO NOT use a big clunky stroller. We actually bought a City Series Baby Jogger stroller that we used and loved it. It was lightweight (for a jogging stroller), could go over all terrain (grass, cobblestones, railway tracks, curbs, etc) and it folded by just pulling one strap -- can't get any easier than this.

For Disney, you need a stroller that you can fold up easily and carry for short periods of time since many rides/modes of transportation make you fold up the stroller. Also, carry an empty plastic bag to put all the 'junk' in it, once you have to fold the stroller up.

For our next trip, we bought a MacLaren Triumph which is a glorified umbrella stroller and worked best for a toddler.

Congrats on the great news posted here... to all the mommies and Daddies (And ones on their way to being parents) for getting through the emotional and often times daunting world of facing IVF.

We were blessed in January 2007 with the birth of our identical twin boys, after we placed back two embryos and 1 split... making us originally pregnant with triplets!!! Sadly, at 14 weeks we lost our fraternal triplet, but the boys are our pride and joy... we couldnt be happier as parents to our incredible sons.

I am in Canada, and sit on a board that is both lobbying the government for assistance in the costs for treatments like IVF, and also in bringing awareness and removing the stigma of IVF and ART to the general community. We raise funds to help other people longing to have children of their own, who could otherwise not afford the expensive treatments.

The whole experience has changed my life... and I have pedged since the day we first saw those 3 miracle heartbeats that I would do whatever I could to give back, and take the stigma out of the process, which many people who havent gone through the process sometimes hold (Out of sheer ignorance, simply because they work off of assumptions and not facts)

It is a long and tenuous road.. hard financially, emotionally and spritually for many couples... I invested 100% of myself into the IVF process when I started... changing my diet, my daily routine, added accupuncture etc.... but it was all worth it.

Good Luck to anyone still going through the process.. feel free to PM me directly if you have any questions you dont feel you can bring up here in a public forum... but can I say BRAVO for so many strong and wonderful women for posting here about such a personal and sacred journey!!!!

Wow! You are a brave and strong woman and even though I'm not in Canada, let me say thank you to you for fighting for fertility methods!

I've done IUI 3 times and IVF once. I thank God and the fact for modern medicine that we have my daughter and this baby (or more) inside me now.

A good friend of mine doesn't have insurance that covers IUI/IVF and she is struggling trying to do all those "at-home" methods...breaks my heart since she's probably a good candidate for IVF...

It was emotionally draining but well worth it. With our first including the 10 IUI' it took us 3 years. But with the next 2 pregnancies it worked first try. For us once they figured out our meds.

Our insurnace covered everyhthing !!!

Your #s are so fantastic!!! I'm so excited for you & can't wait to hear how the ultrasounds go.

I actually do the shots in my thighs and I have no problems. Sometimes it burns for a second while my husband is doing the shot, other than that I've had no pain. I have hated needles all my life, so I can't give myself the shots. Luckily my husband is a police officer in the town we live in & can stop home
I've been so fortunate both rounds to have no side effects or pain after the retrieval or anything. It's weird, but I almost want to feel something!!!! My meds are more intense this time so I'm anxious to see the difference.
