I've Never Thought About Eating This Much!

My boyfriend and I are going to WDW in September and I'm pretty calm about everything EXCEPT for the dining. He has never been and I haven't been since I was a child, so I want to make sure that we make the most of the trip. I guess I keep stressing about fitting in ~everything~ and it's making me nervous.

We're hoping to get free dining (I got a Disney Visa just so we could get early access!), which would give us 6 QS meals and 6 TS meals. We're also planning to go to CRT but will be paying for that our of pocket.

Right now I think I know five of the six TS reservations I want to make, but I'm still unsure. Plus, I don't have an idea for a sixth. I feel like I've read every possible thing I can about these restaurants but I'm still not sure about whether the choices are good ones or not. I was hoping maybe some veterans would be able to ease my worries.

Anyway, right now we're thinking:
  • 50s Prime Time
  • Biergarten
  • Be Our Guest
  • Chefs de France
  • Ohana

I'm not sure if we should go to BoG at Lunch and do a QS and pick something else for dinner or if scrambling to get a FastPass+ would just make me lose my mind.

Also, I've heard lots of mixed reviews about Ohana with some people calling it their favorite place to go and others say that it's not worth it. Also, I mainly wanted to go here so we could watch Wishes. However, we're not staying at the Polynesian and I am worried that we won't make it back to MK in time to get a bus to our resort.

Also you can tell, I'm a really anxious person and just need some kind of guidance. Anything will help. :earseek:

LOL, We're taking a "Framily" trip with 3 other families this Aug and someone said the exact thing about never thinking so much about eating so much! As far as you list goes, I can only tell you we love 50s PT, Chefs, and Ohana. I haven't been able to get a BOG ADR at all yet, and we'll be trying Biergarten for the first time this year. Maybe for your 6th, try either Boma or Sanaa on your AK day. Good luck!

Something to consider - if you don't think you can eat 6 table service meals during your trip, you can use a 2 credit meal. For example, 4 table service meals and then 1 2 credit meal like Cinderella's Royal Table, Artist's Point, Narcoossee's, Jiko, etc.

I really enjoyed Ohana, the meal and the entertainment were great. Bread Pudding? Ah-Mazing. This past October, we dined at BOG for lunch, and dinner. Going back, I'd probably just do lunch, unless getting to see the beast is a big to do on your list. Most of the items offered at Dinner weren't to my preference (i just ordered the steak - it was good)...and the desserts you can get at lunch. 50's Prime Time is my favorite at Hollywood Studios, followed by Sci-Fi, their QS places aren't all that great IMO, so having a table service meal there is good.

50's Prime Time, and Be our Guest weren't really expensive, so you could pay out of pocket for one of those, and select CRT as a dining plan meal. You'd probably save quite a bit. It would use 2 credits though, possibly your extra, and one less expensive place you could pay OOP. When we went this past year, there were a few places we chose to do that at, so that we could experience more signature dining, or character dining options.

If you choose to stick with Ohana and watch WISHES, I wouldn't worry at all about getting back to MK in enough time to catch your bus. Riding the monorail to MK then getting on your bus won't take much time at all, plus...they'll run the buses for a while after the fireworks, it takes some time to empty the park. Then of course, if there are extra magic hours, the buses would be running longer anyway :) I'm no help with Biergarten and Chefs de France, as I've never been.

I didn't see any places listed at Disney Springs, maybe if you still need to fill up one slot, you could check out the places there?

Just doing some homework is going to work to your advantage.

You have a lovely mix.

O'hana, like so many Disney restaurants, receives reviews of varying quality. If you want the dinner & show, O'hana is one choice.

Belly dancing in Marakkesh is another fun option (just like Biergarten).

Sci-Fi Theater & Coral Reef are other uniquely Disney places.

Personal family favorite is Sanaa to see the animals (lunch or daylight dinner) and enjoy the well-seasoned foods.

Cinderella's Table is charming. Enjoy!
