I've never made ADR's before

I read you had to provide a credit card if you want to make an ADR at some restaurants (like CRT). If you don't show up, they charge you. I'd rather not make reservations at these restaurants, since I want to have the opportunity of cancelling the same day.

My question is: for which ADR's (at which restaurants) do they want a credit card?
And: at the other restaurants, until when can I cancel or modify my ADR?

Thanks in advance for your help!

I think the only places that want a cc to hold your spot is the ones that do the shows....the Luau (sp?) at the Poly & the Hoop-de-Doo; maybe Mickey's Backyard BBQ too. There might be a couple of others as well.

As for the regular ADR's, you can cancel or modify the day of, no problem. I suspect there are probably lots of people who don't cancel but just opt not to show up...though it is nicer to cancel so someone else can get the table.

on all our reservations for May, we only had to do a credit card hold with Hollywood and Vine ...Fantasmic pkg......if you cancel within a certain time period, you will not be charged....

When I made ADR's for our upcoming trip in May I had to give a Credit Card number for our ADR's at the Princess Storybook Breakfast at Restaurant Akershus and the Fantasmic Dinner Package at Mama Melrose's. There was a 48 hour cancellation policy on each of them. The CM said I would be charged $10 per person if we failed to show up for the Fantasmic dinner. I believe we would be charged the full price for failure to show up at Akershus, but I'm not sure on that.

None on the other ADR's I made (LeCellier, Crystal Palace, Garden Grill, 1900 Park Fare) required a credit card or had a specific cancellation policy.

Hope this helps. The CM will tell you the policy when you make the reservation.

You only have to hold them with a credit card if it is a princess meal (CRT and Akershus), with the Fantasmic package, or a show, as listed above. Everything else, you can change, cancel, modify, or whatever your ADRs.

You do have 24-48 hours to cancel without a penalty for those restaurants (I say 24-48 because each restaurant is different). So it isn't as if you are writing it in stone, just erasable ink. :lmao:

California Grill is not a "show" or a character meal, but they require a credit card and charge $25/person if your party is a no show.

ADRs that do not require a credit card can be cancelled anytime. But trying to modify them is difficult if you are less than one-two months out from your travel dates (depending on the time of year).
