We just got back from the Free Dining trip of a lifetime. I have never eaten so much and the CM's are good to point out what all you can get. Even the counter service meals were great with desserts and salads, etc. For example, a salad, individual pizza, dessert, and drink! Way more than I normally order. We had great character meals at CP, Chef Mickeys, and CRT. Of course, the best was Le Cellier. My tab would have been $125 for 2 adults and 1 child. I have honestly never had a better steak in my life and I don't think I've been real sheltered! Le Cellier is definitely the best deal on the dining plan - even if I had paid for the plan. IMO, WDW could even save a few bucks and cut out the desserts on the counter service meal - but I'm not going to tell them that! We ended up grabbing extra waters and sodas at the end of the trip to use up the few snack meals we had left.

I'll be glad to answer questions. Thanks Dis'ers for all the help. Also, yes, I think the crowds showed a slight increased compared to most labor day weeks. So, WDW wins this one!

I'm looking forward to eating at Le Cellier later this week (!!!! :goodvibes :) :teeth: ). What did you eat there?

we dined at le cellier while on the free dining plan and it was a worthy use of our credits, but it was far from our favorite meal of the trip!

both dd and dh ordered the "daily special" of surf and turf and enjoyed every morsel, dd had hers w/mashed potatoes which were among the best she's ever had (her words!) i had the filet mignon w/the mushroom risotto... oh, how i wish i were hungrier at the time, it was so rich that i (a big eater!) had trouble finishing it! ds was not thrilled w/his kids' choices and the hot dog was "grilled" and had "black on it" so he would not eat it :confused3

our appetizers were pretty good... dd could not understand why they did not cut the lettuce before they made the caesar salad, lol... dd said his shrimp cocktail was outstanding but we did not "get" the presentation in the chinese food container in a restaurant supposed to represent *canada!* and i had the cheese platter which was a bit disappointing... not sure what i was expecting but it wasn't that! LOL! plus, ds is HIGHLY allergic to nuts (peanuts and tree nuts) and we told our server repeatedly, asked to speak w/a chef like we did at every other TS restaurant, but none were available (??! :rolleyes1 ) and my cheese platter came out w/a pecan as garnish... that little bit could easily send my son into anaphylactic shock, so i was kinda jaded from there on in (he doesn't have to eat it to have a reaction, touching it or touching something that touched it - i.e. my fork - could set him off) :earseek:

all that aside, for free we'll go back again... LOL! :rotfl:

I had the 14ounce NY Strip with potatoes, beef and barley soup, and choc dessert........ friend had the special surf and turf and loved it all, I can't remember what DW and others had but they did have the cheese soup for appetizer and loved it all. My daughter ordered the steak-abob for appetizer which I took care of...it was great too. All the appetizers were very good and my steak was flawless. The service was great as well.

OK now I REALLY cant wait to go. I have made ADR for Le Cellier when we are there and my DS2 loves steak. He is my meat kid while his brother hates meat. So I am going to order the steak and we will be lovin' it :cool1:
