:rotfl: yes, I did!! you'd think ONE dress off eBay would be enough - but oh no, not for me! :rotfl:

I had written awhile back about my gown dilemma and even though you all thought it was lovely (it is) - something just didn't sit right. I kept reading how many of you "knew" when it was THE ONE. to be honest, I was just not getting that feeling. And I knew, because I spent HOURS each day surfing eBay for another gown!

Funny as it sounds, I am old enough to be many of your Moms - my oldest son just turned 30! and even with being a "blushing bride" in many, many ways ( he is absolutely wonderful) - wearing that traditional type gown just didn't feel right.

From the beginning, I had wanted something with lace especially since we are getting married at a Victorian Inn on the Jersey shore - so anyway, long story short - I found THE ONE!!!!! It's a Jessica McClintock ivory completely covered in lace sheath style gown. I took it to my seamstress tonight to have a couple of minor adjustments made so I don't have any photos yet :sad2: so sorry! but I promise as soon as I do - I will share! I just feel so elegant and feminie in it - and the seamstress and my daughter thought it was just beautiful.

I am planning on donating the original gown so someone who cannot afford one has this as an option. Also I now need to figure out the blue I was planning on adding in my stepson's memory. the gown is so detailed, we feel a sash would not do it justice. I am thinking of maybe a blue Swarovski pin?

any ideas ?

anyways, thanks so much for listening but especially thanks to all of you for being so warm and generous with yourselves - sharing hopes, dreams and realities..

much love, Michelle :cloud9:

I am going through the same thing right now with my 2nd gown! I'm so happy for you that you've found "the one" now! You really do feel different when you are in something that is truly right for you. Congratulations! :)

I'm so happy for you!!! I have been looking for about three months now and still can't find mine. I've found parts of one here and there but not the exact one. Also, it kinda stinks because I've found a couple online and but you can't try them on and who wants to spend all of that money to not like something??:confused3 Anyways, I'm glad you found your dress and maybe I'll look on ebay myself

I had to keep myself from trying on two more dresses today when I was checking on bridesmaid dresses... I would probably confuse myself with a second... wear them both possibly :)

well I definitely say go for it! the seller had a 14 day return policy and I also put it on my Amex so if there was a dispute, I could return it. Also kept all correspondence with seller for future if needed. This is how I bought my first dress also... no regrets on either one! just check out the seller carefully and have fun!

Michelle I'm glad you found a dress you really love! It is soo sweet that you plan to donate your original gown...but I must say it doesn't surprise me a bit! You are so great like that! And I love anything Swarovski and I think something blue from them would be wonderful...

Yay for you!!!

awww , thanks JoDee !!! :goodvibes you guys are the BEST !!!

Congratulations on finding your gown! I bought one and must have tried on at least 15 more before finding "the one" :goodvibes

Michelle, I am so happy for you, doesn't it feel wonderful when you have found the one?:woohoo: As you know I too am a 2 dress bride, but it's so worth it in the end. I can't wait to see the pics, it sounds beautiful!!!
As for the pin, I love that idea, either that or a blue Swarovski pendant, anything close to your heart would be beautiful. What about a single blue flower in your bouquet? Just throwing ideas out there, but I think that would be really pretty.
You are so sweet to donate the dress to someone that can't afford one, that is one of the kindest things I have heard:hug:

hi Summer! oh my gosh, I just realized - less than 2 months for you - how awesome is that??!! :cheer2: I love your idea of the pin. eBay, here I come!! the blue flower is also lovely but my silk bouquet is already made and sitting in a box in my room so that won't work. As for donating the gown, I guess it's my form of "paying it forward" - I'm a firm believer in "you get what you give" . oh yes, and last night I joined weightwatchers to help lose those pesky 20 pounds that love me so much! :rotfl:

so how's your planning coming along?

Michelle :cloud9:

I am so pleased for you Michelle, I can't wait to see the photos. You are going to look so stunning.

Can I just say that you don't look old enough to have a 30 year old son ;)

Ilove the sound of your new dress. I bought a first one too. It was just too much for me. Haha I think alot of us are 2 dress brides.

thanks so much for the compliment - I may not look it but trust me, he's mine! in fact, here's a photo of my three :

MIchelle :cloud9:

Michelle - Thanks for asking, my planning is coming along wonderfully. I know, less than 2 months, where did it all go? I can't wait to try on my dress when it comes in, hopefully the end of July. I will be taking pics and hopefully that 20 pounds or so that I STILL have to lose will have gone by then. Good Luck at WW, you are going to look beautiful on your wedding day, no matter what:hug:

I could tell before that you just didn't feel comfortable and now....you have your dream dress!!! That's wonderful Michelle...you are going to look so beautiful!!!
