Beth, sometimes it is good to step back for a time and just rest from the boards for a bit. As great fun they are, it is like real life at times, and real life sometimes requires a break, a rest. Been there at times myself, as have several on this very thread. I know, I have talked with them when they were, or they with me when I was. I know you'll be back, Beth. Remember, it is the people, and so many good ones here. Yeah, a few who are not, but they seem to get weeded out over time, again, just like in RL. Take care, don't go too far though.

I've been here almost from the beginning and I still don't understand why, if someone cares about people, they would leave. Actually, I stopped trying to understand it years ago.

Well Kelsi, I can't speak for Beth or any others, but sometimes those people that you care about, don't truly care about you. And you find that out in a cruel way, find out very few want to help you in that, and you feel you have no choice but to get away from the hurt. At least until you realize it's only an Internet Message Board with too many personalities to figure out and you set your priorities straight.

Beth, take some time...take some breaths...have a great weekend with your family and remember there are people here who really do care and will miss your fun presence on this board. {{HUGS}}

This was my point!

You will never be able to please everyone, it's impossible. So, you focus on the people who really do care and let go of the rest. I've done this many times during my years here. Is it painful, of course it is, but it's life.

I'm sorry but to me it's a bit like giving up all of your friends because a few disappoint or hurt you.

I'm not a Moderator of this board and personally, would never want to be (I don't want to work that hard ). However, I know most of the Moderator's here and respect them for the difficult job they do. Are they going to please everyone? Probably not, but think about what this Board and the DIS would be without them.

There are some here that have personalities that don't mesh with others and they are deemed bad when indeed they are not. I don't understand why when the personalities don't mesh, why people just can't stay away from each other, as one would in RL, instead of causing so much sadness for many others. It's like a domino effect sometimes. I see good domino effects around here, and I see bad domino effects here. The good domino effect is why many come back here after leaving. The bad domino effect makes them stay away too long.

This is what I think: because somehow, instead of just being a great place to post, the CB has become a place where "side" groups have been dividing the CB lately. On either "side" ... the "good side", the "bad side", or whatever the heck side someone thinks they're on or looking in from, people won't let things drop! They just won't let things go!

I can't understand for the life of me, why things have to be brought up over and over and over and over, in "hidden" or "double" messages or just plain flat out. Most of us who have been here for any length of time and who spend any amount of time on the CB know what's aimed at who. And the fire keeps getting stirred over and over from all different "sides". I just wish it would stop!!!! The past is the past, whether is was a year ago, a month ago, a day ago or an hour ago!!!!! Just as in real life, you have to be willing to let things go and move on!!! No matter what "side" you're on. No one starts it, yet everyone starts it. If all the "sides" would just pick a starting point and just just move on, then maybe things will change. Until then, it's just going to be the same "stuff" over and over and over!

Why does there have to be "sides"? Why would anyone chose to separate the boards that way? It's up to each individual poster to not allow that to happen!!!! And you don't allow that to happen by coming here to enjoy the CB, not stirring up old feelings or hardships.

Sometimes it's like a huge playground around here with bullies and people who are bullied. That's why the CB needs to be monitored and I don't envy any of the mods or WM's their "jobs." They all do a great job here considering what they have to deal with each and every day, from all "sides"!
