I've decided its time to leave the DIS.

I really don't feel like its "home" for me anymore. I used to be able to come here and laugh with friends, act silly, be mad, whatever and I always felt wonderful to have this place. Thats just not the case anymore. I'm sorry but there is definatly a double standard here and I'm not a child anymore and thus shouldn't be treated as one.

I will come back and check my pms in a few days and if anyone wants my personal email I'll be glad to post it (the one on file here is not the one I use on a daily basis.)

There are many of you (and I don't want to list names in case I leave someone out) that I would love to still keep in contact with via email. You KNOW who you are...please pm me so I can send you my email!!!

To be honest I have simply found another place that is home now where everything is simple, fun and fair. I'll miss you guys but this is best.

Beth....I have felt the same way sometimes myself, and sometimes about 2-3 days will go by, and I won't respond to posts, just lurk....but than, something draws me back, and I start posting again....a good rule of thumb, DON'T let anyone get you down, I have been involved in a disagreement here not too long ago, and BOY was I P***ed OFF! Got attacked and everything, but, here I am cause I have learned to let it ALL roll off my back! Gonna miss you.....Faith.

Sorry you are no longer having a good time here, Beth. I'm never clear on the double standard that I have heard mentioned from time to time, all I know is that the moderators do their best to play fair. Its not always easy to know when to enforce the guidelines, and when to back off and let it ride, but I do know my fellow mods put in countless hours making these sort of decisions. I guess the old saying "you can't make all the people happy all the time" would prove true in this case.

Sorry to hear this Beauty, I've always enjoyed your posts. I don't know what led to your decision, but, as others have said, you have to do whatever you are comfortable with! While I'm truly sorry to see you go, I'm also happy that you found a place that you feel happy with. I think that's what everyone needs. I've only been here three years, but I've seen this place change and grow and evolve. Sometimes I don't like what I see, sometimes I love what I see. If I ever feel uncomfortable, or like this place is no longer something that makes me happy, I would walk away too, so I understand. And -- there isn't a door here, so nothing locks behind you. You can always come back if you see things changing and evolving into something you feel like joining in again.
